Marilyn Manson has a Number 1 record. His
latest release “The Golden Age of Grotesque,” sold 118,000 copies the first
week, landing the controversial star at No. 1 on the Billboard album charts.
This was a modest jump for Manson from
the first week sales of his last studio album, “Holy Wood: In the Valley
of the Shadow of Death,” which moved 117,000 copies it’s first week.
Elsewhere on the charts, Manson kept 50
Cent out of the No. 1 spot. “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” lands at No. 2 with
sales of 106,000 units. Cold comes in third with a triumphant return with
their new CD “Year of the Spider” enjoying first week sales of 101,000
units.
Third Eye Blind’s new one “Out of the Vein”
sold 63,000 units debuting on the charts at No. 12.
Manson will face stiff competition this
week from Staind’s new album “14 Shades of Grey”. That group’s last album
enjoyed first week sales of 716,000 copies.
