musicNEWS:  Rob Halford Axes “Metal Gods” Tour.

It looks like the plug has been pulled on the North American tour for the former Judas Priest frontman, Rob Halford.

Rob Halford’s manager, John Baxter, credited the sudden cancellation to “contractual difficulties” and “inappropriate activity” he discovered last Tuesday (April 29) that “had been carried out days prior to the Chicago show, without my knowledge and approval.”

Baxter said in a post on Saturday to the RobHalford.com message board, “To be clear, the malpractice was not carried out by any of the participating bands, their labels and management.

“For legal reasons nothing further can be said for the moment. A formal press statement will be prepared after we obtain additional instruction from counsel.

“We know ultimately this affects each of you, so I will look at re-booking some / all of the dates. The dates however, will not include The Metal Gods lineup.”

On Sunday, Baxter posted the following on the message board:

Following up on yesterday's news; I've spoken at length with all bands on TMG Tour. Nearly all have commitments in June, etc., and have made their plans to return home.

Testament's Manager and I have agreed to re-capture as many dates from this tour as possible.

Sometime this / next week I will begin releasing confirmed west coast tour dates, etc., for the following lineup:

Halford
Testament
Special Guest

Depending on venue availabilities, etc., the bands will try and work through June / early July; covering as many of the formally scheduled cities as we can. We will also look at adding some markets which were not scheduled initially.

More details to follow.
