Veteran metaller’s Iron Maiden are the latest band to jump on the “pro-mp3” bandwagon. According to metal news site Blabbermouth.net, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson  told 17,000 concert goers at the Oslo Spectrum to go ahead and record the group’s performance of their unreleased song, “Wildest Dreams,” from their forthcoming album “Dance of Death”. 

Dickinson told the fans, "The album is not out yet, but please pull out our small digital recorders, MP3 players, cell phones or whatever you have. Put it on the Internet, spread it all over the world. But on one condition: When you hear the new album, if you like it, pay the equivalent of three beers to buy the record in the store. That is what keeps us alive. If you don't like the album, just forget it." 

He then took a jab at on the most outspoken critics of mp3’s when he added, "We are not like METALLICA." 

Iron Maiden’s new album is set to be released on September 9th. The band will embark on a North American tour with Dio and Motorhead later this month.
