Beautiful Creatures frontman Joe Leste’ is
bringing the funk with his new side project, “The Vagabonds”. The band
debuted last Wednesday at the Cat Club in Hollywood and surprised fans
with a set of R&B and Rock n Roll classic including songs from the
Isley Brothers, Stevie Wonder and a special birthday tribute to the King
of Rock n Roll, Elvis!
LeSte’ who lives for performing live put
the project together to help hold him over until the new Beautiful Creatures
album is released. Recording of the group’s sophomore effort is reportedly
completed and is currently being mixed in Los Angeles. A release date has
not yet been set but a few labels including Sanctuary Music are hoping
to win the bid to release the album.
LeSte’ hopes to bring the Vagabonds to
the Cat Club on a weekly basis until he hits the road with Beautiful Creatures
to support their new album. Hollywood promoter Happenin’ Harry is more
than happy to give his friend Joe a place to play and plans on booking
the group as a regular attraction to his Wednesday Night promotion Happenin’
Harry’s HollyWeird at the Cat Club (sponsored by our sister site iconoMUSIC).
Joe also headlined a sold out New Year’s
Eve show with his other band Bang Tango at the Cat Club for Happenin’ Harry’s
New Year’s Eve Bash. That performance was video taped and Harry hopes to
have copies of the concert for sale via his website soon.
Prior to last week’s debut performance
from the Vagabonds the crowd was treated to a rare performance from The
Rhythm Junkies, a group that features Rough Cutt’s Paul Shortino, guitarist
Mitch Perry Of MSG, Edgar Winter & Talas along with former Great White
and Quiet Riot bassist Sean McNabb and The Screaming Buddah Heads’ Ray
Hernandez.
The Rhythm Junkies warmed up the crowd
with an impressive set of classic rock and blues before the Vagabonds took
the stage to give the fans a dose of classic R&B.
The Vagabonds and the Rhythm Junkies are
both scheduled to play Happenin’ Harry’s HollyWeird at The Cat Club in
Hollywood again this Wednesday (Jan 15th).

Harry.com for more information on the show.
