Fred Durst is trying to stir up interest in
Limp Bizkit’s forthcoming album, “Less is More.” The controversial
frontman recently made a post to the band’s website and gave fans some
details about the new album.
According to Durst, the band is four songs
away from completing the album. They have selected the track, “Crack Addict”
as the first single. According to Durst the song is "so f***ing heavy."
“Less is More” is expected to hit stores
in April. Industry watchers will be keeping a close eye on sales of the
disc along with Linkin Park’s forthcoming disc to see if 2002 poor sales
of rap rock efforts was indeed a sign that the trend is losing popularity.
This will be Limp Bizkit’s follow up to their 2000 release, “Chocolate
Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water,” and will be the group’s first
album without guitarist Wes Borland.
Despite Durst’s claim of wanting to fill
Borland’s slot with the “illist” guitarist on the planet, the group has
yet to find a permanent replacement. However, the new CD, produced by Rick
Rubin, will feature a number of guest musicians including Ministry’s
Al Jourgensen, Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, former Helmet guitarist
Page Hamilton and Korn’s Head.
Durst also dispelled rumors that he recently
recorded with Britney Spears. "I did not sing with her. I really like her,
and that's about all I should say. She's a sweet, amazing girl and I'm
happy to know her."
