South American metalheads Sepultura are preparing
to release their new studio album “Roorback” in North America on August
26th, which will include a cover of U2’s “Bullet the Blue Sky”.
According to Billboard, the group’s record
label SPV will issue to versions of the album. The standard release will
feature the U2 cover in audio and video form and they will also release
a special edition of the album that will include a bonus disc containing
material from the previously unreleased "Revolusongs" EP.
The special edition bonus disc will include
more covers, according to the Billboard report, including Sepultura versions
of songs by Jane's Addiction ("Mountain Song"), Public Enemy ("Black
Steel in the Hour of Chaos"), Massive Attack ("Angel"), Devo ("Mongoloid"),
Exodus ("Piranha") and Hellhammer ("Messiah").
“Roorback” won’t be the only place where
fans can get some new Sepultura material. When Roadrunner came looking
for music for the soundtrack to “Freddy Vs. Jason”, the band went into
the vaults and decided to use their 1998 pairing with former Faith No More
frontman Mike Patton on a track called "The Waste".
The band is set to tour behind the new
album in North America this fall but before then rumor has it that the
group will embark on their first ever tour of South Africa in September,
playing small 1000 seat venues, according to Sepultribe.com.
