Linkin Park roared back to the top of the
charts worldwide with their new CD “Meteora”, the follow up to their multi-platinum
debut “Hybrid Theory”.
“Meteora” debuts at No. 1 on the charts
in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Austria, and Switzerland. It landed the No.
2 spot in Holland and Australia, No 3. in France and No. 4 in Finland and
Brazil.
Considering the massive sales for “Hybrid
Theory,” Linkin Park’s sophomore effort was expected to do well. Although
they didn’t reach platinum sales in the U.S. the first week as expected
but they came close with sales of 811,000 copies of “Meteora” in America.
The band will hit the road to support the
album next week. Their second annual Projekt Revolution tour will kick
off on April 8th in Rochester, New York. And in a show of support for American
serviceman and women the band is giving them free admission to the concerts.
"We feel the need to give back to these
making personal sacrifices for our country," said guitarist Brad Delson
in a statement. "So, we've set aside tickets in every city we're playing
to invite armed-services personnel and their families to attend the shows
