Scum
Of The Earth - Blah...Blah...Blah Love Songs For The New Millennium
Label: Eclipse
Rating:
At first you might say "this sounds like
Rob Zombie" and you'd be right. Riggs, guitar player for Zombie and front
man of Scum Of The Earth, worked with Rob Zombie for six years so it's
only natural. But aside from that, he can carry his own. Blah...Blah...Blah
Love Songs For The New Millennium is proof of that. Most of the songs
were written over the past ten years and when Zombie took a break to make
House of 1000 Corpses, Riggs decided there was no better time to
start a side project using the name he had always thought was cool,
Scum Of The Earth.
The album is full of appearances such as
John Tempesta brother of Mike Tempesta (Powerman 5000 and Scum Of The Earth
guitarist), marking the first time the brothers had ever worked together.
And on Bloodsucking Freekshow (Track 2) you can hear the voice of Riggs'
six year old son and some drunk chick. But the album isn't all hard, for
example Track 10 (Give up your ghost) is an acoustic style song with a
fiddle part. There is even a cool cover/remake on the album but you'll
have to listen to it for that.
Bottom line, there isn't a bad song on
it, so check it out.
