Dale Turner's "Interpretations" album was,
at first, a little hard to get into. But once I got past the first initial
shock of an acoustic version of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" , not the best
way to start off a CD, in fact the first track alone left me wondering
if this was a comedy CD.......by the way, it's not. The rest of it, however,
was pretty good.
In addition to Bohemian Rhapsody, it has
"Blackbird" originally performed by The Beatles, "Hallelujah" which you
might know from the Shrek Soundtrack, and a slightly off-putting rendition
of "Coconut" which you may remember from that scene in Practical Magic
where they all dance around in the kitchen drinking margaritas. Even though
I prefer the original versions of all these songs (especially Bohemian
Rhapsody), I did find this album to be cool in it's own right. I mean it
is called "Interpretations" I think that gives you creative license to
do what you want.
From one to five, this one gets a 3 for
effort.
