Richie Sambora and Stevie Wonder hit the stage together recently to perform a duet of "Silent Night" at the 82nd Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade. Richie had this to say about the experience, "It is almost beyond words. He was the guy that I emulated when I was a boy, and he taught me how to sing. It was an honor to meet your teacher. The first thing I did was whisper in his ear, 'I'm sure you get this a lot, but you were my inspiration as a singer.' The first thing he said is, 'You do the first verse!'" Sambora also played his own set at the event, which included the Bon Jovi hit "Livin' on a Prayer" and the Bill Withers classic "Lean on Me." The parade airs nationwide across the U.S. on more than 350 stations in the coming 2 weeks (many on Dec 22 and Christmas Day). Check your local listings. It will also air on the Hallmark Movie Channel on Dec 20th at 5pm ET/PT, 4pm CT & Dec 24th at 11am ET/PT, 10am CT. But you don't have to wait to watch the duet. Check out video of that here.

(Classic Rock) The Faces keyboardist Ian McLagan says the band aren't interested in working with Rod Stewart in 2015, despite the frontman saying he's finally ready to stage a reunion.A gathering of the original line-up has been discussed for several years, but after plans kept being put on hold they went out with SImply Red frontman Mick Hucknall in Stewart's place during 2010 and 2011, following a 2009 charity show at which Stewart failed to appear. Last week the original vocalist said he was finally ready to commit – but McLagan insists he and drummer Kenney Jones want to spend 2015 focusing on the anniversary of earlier outfit the Small Faces, which didn't include Stewart. "It's interesting that Rod announced these things without talking to me or Kenney. Why would we f**k around with the Faces when we've got bigger fish to fry?," The keyboardist tells Uncut. "We've done the Faces – and he didn't turn up." more on this story

He says the work embraces a huge range of influences, all the way to thrash metal icons Slayer – and they're all there to be discovered by those who listen closely enough.Sweany tells Glide: "There's a bunch of cool, unifying traits about the stuff I steal from, which is all basically from the beginning of the American recording industry – blues and soul." He lists his blues influences but then adds, "I also like Iggy and the Stooges," he says. "I like the energy of what rock became in the modern era with Led Zeppelin through punk rock stuff – and even Slayer. "Slayer is great music to listen to when you're driving by yourself. That sort of energy is what I've always been attracted to. I just stuck with what I knew and what I felt I was good at." more on this story

(Radio.com) With the band's current Reflektor campaign proving them to be quite the merry pranksters, Arcade Fire keep the party going by bringing even more surrealism to the latest edition of Zach Galifianakis' aggressively awkward talk show series, Between Two Ferns. In this holiday-themed edition of the Funny or Die franchise, Galifianakis trades random one-liners with guests Tobey Maguire and Samuel L. Jackson. The interview segment is followed by the Arcade Fire, festively dressed and bunched together in front of a Christmas tree as the perform a bizarre version of "Little Drummer Boy," with band members taking turns singing the verses with exaggerated vocal inflections as fake snow falls ("it's asbestos," Galifianakis deadpans). Regine Chassagne in particular adopts a shrill, high-pitched accent that cuts through the otherwise traditional arrangement. Frontman Win Butler wears sunglasses and lights a cigarette. While the Arcade Fire are done playing shows for the rest of 2013, the band is set to kick off the new year with a string of January shows in Australia, followed by the recently extended Reflektor tour launching in America on March 6 with a concert in Louisville, KY. (Radio.com) Just in time for Christmas, Megadeth is spreading a little holiday cheer with their heavy metal take on the carols you know and love. Decked in traditional holiday sweaters, Dave Mustaine and the guys touted out their new album, Thrashing Through the Snow: A Very Megadeth Christmas on Tuesday night's (Dec. 17) episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, sneering their way through classic carols like "Frosty the Snowman" and "The Little Drummer Boy," in which Mustaine just sings the most beautifully scary refrain of "pa rum pa pum pum."On "Do You Hear What I Hear?" Mustaine got real with all the good little children, letting them know that the sound they're actually hearing is death knocking at their door. But the real standout on the album was their stirring rendition of "Baby It's Cold Outside," with everyone's other favorite redhead, Jenny Lewis. Showing off some of those acting skills from the 1989 classic, The Wizard, Lewis playfully sings, "I really can't stay," only to have Mustaine respond in all his full throated glory, that seriously, it's cold outside and she needs to stay the night. Or else. Make sure you pick up a copy when it comes to a store near you, or Santa will kick you in the throat. Watch the video here.
