(hennemusic) Guns N' Roses leader Axl Rose has a new interview with USA Today where he speaks openly about a variety of topics, including his past, writer's block, the music industry, new music, the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, and GNR's history.
"Here's what I miss about old Guns the most. And this is really before we got Appetite [For Destruction] out," said Axl. "In the very beginning, you had three people (Rose, Slash and guitarist Izzy Stradlin) on the same page for a short period looking out for the best interest of that band and its goals. We were trying to get signed from the beginning. We were figuring out the right attorney, the right label. I had two other guys I could rely on. I don't necessarily have that now because it is more my thing, but I do ask everyone's opinion about everything."
On the topic of how the original band might have lasted, Rose explained "Maybe if we could have worked together in the way Appetite was put together. I was really naοve. I thought the success of that record would bring everyone together more. It did the exact opposite. They got success and wanted to run in their own directions. I thought they'd go, 'Whoa, it did work.' But they wanted to do their own huge bigger success off of Guns."

Shadows Fall drummer Jason Bittner has been sidelined with acute pancreatitis which will prevent him from performing at PASIC this week in Austin, TX.
The band issued an update from Jason on Tuesday (which was originally posted on his official fan Facebook page ). He has this to say: "Due to my recent health issues, I am under doctors orders to cancel my trip to Austin TX this week to perform at PASIC 2012.
"For over a week, what I thought was a stomach bug (and i was still on tour when all of this started), I came home last week and went to the doctors, and it was written off as just that, a bug. This past Saturday the pain came back and lingered into Sunday which forced me i...nto the emergency room yesterday.
"After a day in the hospital I was poked, prodded, tested and it turns out I have acute Pancreatitis, which I'm told can be very serious if left untreated. They're not sure what brought it on (my Dr thinks it was viral), but I have been told by my doctors to not leave this week because I need to sent for more tests/mri, etc to make 100% sure I'll be road ready for the second leg of the SF tour which starts Nov. 8th - I should be fine, but needless to say I'm very disappointed I will not be able to come perform in Austin this week! Maybe Pasic 2013??"

Former Uriah Heep and Lucifer's Friend star John Lawton has set a November 12th release date for his new concept album, entitled "The Power of Mind". Glass Onyon sent over these details:
An innovative new CD, conceived, written and produced by the CGI member, Dr. Milen Vrabevski, but performed by John Lawton and Bulgarian ensemble Diana Express, 'The Power of Mind' is an exploration into the science of positive thinking and its applications to the subconscious mind.
Featuring 14 amazing songs that showcase the soulful vocals of John Lawton and the powerful instrumentals by Diana Express will leave you wanting to hear it again and again... " 'The Power of Mind' is a concept album with positive thinking being the theme," John explains. "In the world of today, I don't think there are many better things to focus on. The way the songs flow into each other is really the way one would read a book or relate stories to friends. The melodies and lyrics say a lot about how we should view each other."
(hennemusic) Aerosmith have shared the story behind "Lover Alot" from their new album, "Music From Another Dimension."
"Lover Alot" was premiered back in August as the band wrapped up the first leg of their Global Warming tour.
The tune is reminiscent of the vibe of Aerosmith's classic 1970s tunes, thanks to some help by producer Jack Douglas. "He had been pummeled by people too: 'Do a record with Aerosmith, and make it sound like the old days,' and all that sh*t," guitarist Joe Perry tells Rolling Stone. "So I think he had more of an agenda of how to get it to sound, but he never sat in a room like this and said, 'Listen guys, I really think we should get a record that's a little bit of Rocks and a little bit of Toys [In The Attic], but a little bit of Permanent Vacation, but not so much that.' He did it from the background, because Jack can be a pretty sneaky f**k too."
(hennemusic) Green Day have released a video for "The Forgotten," a new tune that will be featured on the soundtrack to "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2."

(hennemusic) Less than a day after Las Vegas officials renamed a street in honor of Guns N' Roses' first-ever residency, "Appetite For Democracy," at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, a local commissioner says she regrets the decision.
The Las Vegas Sun reports Clark County commissioner Mary Beth Scow, who represented the county at the ceremony, said she regrets the commission's move to temporarily rename Paradise Road to Paradise City Road to promote Guns N' Roses concerts because an ad for the iconic group's concerts depicts what appears to be a sexually assaulted woman beneath the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign.
The ad is a revised version of the group's banned cover of its first album, "Appetite for Destruction."
Today we have a special video edition of Singled Out where The Features tell us about their new song "Another One," which comes from their recently release album, "Wilderness". But first drummer Rollum Haas had this little intro to share about the song's video:
The keyboard part sounds like the Legend Of Zelda, the makeup took hours to put on and hours to take off, the makeup guy might be the most amazing human in the universe, I got pulled over on the way home, & it has cowbell.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and watch the video
