In an interview with Guilty Pleasures (via Metro) in the U.K. at the annual GQ Men of the Year Awards, the singer first mentioned how much the gents of U2 enjoyed every blasted date of the 360° Tour: "They say every tour is 10 days too long. Not with this one. We genuinely loved every single night and at the end we were so sad."

Neil Young Joins Pearl Jam On Stage
(hennemusic) Pearl Jam rocked Toronto Sunday evening on the first of a two-night stand, as part of the band's 10-date Canadian tour.

Things hit the roof during the second set of encores: they began with a real rarity, "Chloe Dancer/Crown Of Thorns," from the pre-PJ band, Mother Love Bone, bounced into "Alive," and then launched into hyperdrive with Neil Young's "Rockin' In The Free World" – with an appearance by Neil himself.

When Young walked onto the stage, it was as if the ACC roof was going to give way, with the crowd bursting into thunderous ovation. Mike McCready ran side stage and handed his guitar to Neil, who came out during the extended solo section, and Neil joined the guys by bouncing around and throwing lead licks off every corner of the building. McCready ran and snagged another guitar so he could re-join the fun, and fun it was – ear-to-ear smiles from everyone in the room, including all PJ members. Peter Hook Upset About New Order Reunion
(Gibson) Peter Hook is not happy at news that former New Order colleagues plan to reunite without him. Hook and his band, The Light, are touring the U.S. this fall, playing Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures at some shows and performing the 1980 follow-up, Closer, at others.

This week, according to the Daily Express, New Orders' Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert will reunite. Tom Chapman will take the place of bass player Hook, who left the band in 2007. In a statement, Hook said, "I first I heard about this on Monday and it has taken me completely by surprise! Everyone knows that New Order without Peter Hook is like Queen without Freddie Mercury, U2 without The Edge, Sooty without Sweep!

"On a more serious note, I do not understand the decision the other three have taken. I wish they had approached me first. I do not agree with the methods they have used and feel it would have been courteous and professional to have spoken to me in advance of the announcements. It is very sad." more on this story

Be Turned Into A Record When You Die

Theft Lead Duff McKagan To Bass Guitar
(Rock News Desk) Former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan turned to the four-string instrument after he was forced to pawn his guitar and was then told he wouldn't be getting it back because it was stolen.

The Velvet Revolver and Loaded man reveals the episode in a preview excerpt of his autobiography, It's So Easy (And Other Lies). He'd acquired the guitar in his home town of Seattle after swapping instruments with another musician, not knowing his new axe had originated in Los Angeles.

McKagan tells how events unfolded in 1984, a few months after he'd moved to LA to find a band with the determination to succeed. He writes: "During those early months I sometimes had to pawn things to make rent while waiting to get paid. One day I heard a knock at my apartment door. When I opened it, I found two cops." more here

Evanescence Tease Fans
(RockAAA) Evanescence have released a teaser of the video for their single 'What You Want'. The video was shot in a Brooklyn warehouse by director Meiert Avis, who has previously worked with Bruce Springsteen and U2. Speaking to MTV, singer Amy Lee described how the video reminded her of the bands beginnings.

"This video is sort of, like, the history of the band," She said. "This club [set] is emulating old shows we used to play in the beginning — we used to play this club called Vino's in Little Rock — it's sort of like back then, the gritty, dirty club, sweaty. And basically, it's also [about] New York, where I've been, [and] where [bassist] Tim [McCord] lived in the past few years since we've been gone. And it's sort of about escaping New York and … coming back out into the world."

"This is more a personal video. We've done a lot in the past that [were] very 'fantasy,' and this is sort of the real us. I just wanted to do something that really felt personal for a change." more on this story

Singled Out: Anubis Gate's Golden Days
Today Anubis Gate tell us about "Golden Days" from their brand new self-titled album which hits stores tomorrow. Here is the story:

Anubis Gate has gone through major changes since our last and critically acclaimed concept album "The Detached" from 2009. Not only did we sign a new record deal with Nightmare, we also had to replace Jacob Hansen, the former lead vocalist. Luckily our bass player and lyric writer was ready to take over and finish the album that was already recorded.

The first single from our selftitled forthcoming album is called "Golden days". It's a song about having major dreams and a naive belief in the future - a feeling of immortality and invincibility that especially young people experience and which is crucial if you want to make it to the top. But when they grow older they tend to feel more careful or vulnerable, 'cause they've learnt some of life's lessons or have children to take care of. And all of a sudden invincible has changed to invisible - the golden days are but a memory; an old feeling of grandeur and lost youth, but replaced by a more solid wisdom and maturity that was lacking in the young dreamer. The single version is an alternate version to that of the album and it will be accompanied by a video, which is in making as we speak

The single "Golden days" is backed with a cover of Nik Kershaw's hit "Wouldn't it be good" (non-album track). We usually record some cover versions just for the fun of it, and always songs that are close to the heart of the band for one or another reason. And we all loved this one so we decided we might as well release it. We might release a lot of the other "rare and unreleased" at a later point in time. The single represents the heavy rock part of Anubis Gate on an album that also contains both faster, more epic, more heavy and more metal stuff. In fact, all the things that people has come to expect from an Anubis Gate album. "Golden days" is released on iTunes August ? and the album (CD also) on September 13, 2011.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
