Pearl Jams for Tots
Does your baby crave a little "Even Flow?" or if you are feeling ironic you can sooth them with the sounds of "Jeremy" on October 26th when Pearl Jam classics will be transformed into lullabies.

Rockabye Baby has picked Pearl Jam as the latest band to get the lullaby treatment. You know it is a slow news day when this is a lead story but here is their pun filled announcement and tracklisting:

Are new baby's cries turned up to ten? Need an alternative to the nightly riot act? When it's you vs. them, these sweet lullaby renditions of Pearl Jam's rock anthems are as comforting as a warm flannel blanket. Just breathe, Mom and Dad–it's sleeptime in Seattle. - more on this story

Quiet Riot Return With New Singer
Quiet Riot have announced that they have regrouped with a new singer and will tour this fall. Here is the background: After the tragic passing of co-founding Quiet Riot singer Kevin DuBrow in 2007, many figured that the band was over. But while going through the vaults of vintage video material for an upcoming documentary of the band's history, the spark was reignited once more for drummer Frankie Banali to kick QR back in gear. The easy part was filling the guitar and bass slots - as former members Chuck Wright (bass) and Alex Grossi (guitar) promptly signed on. However, having to fill DuBrow's large shoes was no small task.

A longtime fan of heavy metal, singer Mark Huff came to Banali's attention while fronting a California-based Van Halen tribute band (that focused on the "Sammy Hagar era"). A true Cinderella story, Huff auditioned via a cattle call audition, promptly blew Banali away, and got the gig. After getting the blessing from DuBrow's mother to carry on with Quiet Riot (and to celebrate her son's music), the group was ready to rock once more.

Quiet Riot hit mega-success with their first-ever US release in 1983, the classic 'Metal Health.' Spawning two hit singles that have gone on to become synonymous with heavy metal - "Cum On Feel the Noize" and "Metal Health" - the 'Metal Health' album went on to become the first-ever metal US debut to hit the #1 spot on the Billboard album charts, and resulted in a solid year of sold-out arena shows and non-stop MTV video airplay. However, it was the DuBrow-Banali-Wright-Grossi line-up that proved to be DuBrow's favorite touring line-up (and also, most stable). - more on this story

Bret Michaels Love Boat
We learned this week that Bret Michaels' new reality show "Life as I Know It" is set to premiere next month on VH1 but that's not the only new reality show he has on tap.

The Poison frontman tells CMT.com that another reality show is in development. What kind of show? Wait for it... Rock of Love Boat. According to CMT, Michaels "plans to serve as the 'love guru' on a cruise ship as couples work on their relationships."

He is also continuing to stray from his rock roots. CMT says that Michaels " will release a contemporary country-Americana album in late December or early January tentatively titled, Bret Michaels: Once a Cowboy, Always a Cowboy." - more on this story

AC/DC and Other Rock Classics Banned At Funerals
If for some reason you wanted to be sent off into the great beyond with AC/DC's classic "Highway to Hell" or Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust," you are out of luck if you are going six feet under Down Under.

Gibson reports that The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne has banned the use of pop music at funerals, according to The New York Times. Archbishop Denis Hart has said the act of playing pop songs is not considered "a celebration of the life" of the deceased. The new guidelines state: "Secular items are never to be sung or played at a Catholic funeral, such as romantic ballads, pop or rock music, political songs, football club songs."

The Melbourne Hearld Sun reported that football songs are popular at many funerals, in addition to pop hits. Although Frank Sinatra's "My Way" and Bette Midler's "The Wind Beneath My Wings" are often requested, the newspaper reported that quirkier choices like AC/DC's "Highway to Hell," Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" and Monty Python's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" also had been popular before the ban. - more on this story

Helloween Announce New Album, Plan World Tour
Helloween will release their 13th studio album, 7 Sinners, on November 9, 2010 in North America via The End Records with a world tour to follow.

The label sent over this background on the new album: If there is a golden thread throughout the more than 25 years of Helloween's history, 13 studio albums, countless headliner tours around the globe and more than 5 million records sold, then it is their special kind of attitude: don't take yourself too seriously and simply live statements like: "just have fun with the s*** you're doing."

Maybe it is exactly this easiness that allows Helloween to be one of the most constant bands of the genre while simultaneously being the one band who dares to experiment more than their musical peers. While some copycats would rather stick with the same old patterns, Andi Deris, Michael Weikath, Sascha Gerstner, Markus Groίkopf and Dani Lφble aren't afraid of taking risks - and are rightfully rewarded with success. - more on this story

Squeeze Cover Themselves
(Gibson) Squeeze will release Spot the Difference, a re-recorded greatest hits compilation, on October 11.

According to Music-news.com, the 14 tracks have been produced as close to the originals as possible – hence "spot the difference" – using original instruments and equipment that Glenn Tilbrook had kept in his collection.

Tired of seeing their music used for commercial purposes without their permission, this album is an attempt by songwriters Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook to regain ownership of their catalogue. While not longer a member of the band, Paul Carrack did return to record a new version of "Tempted." - more on this story

New Bret Michaels Reality Show
(Gibson) Bret Michaels is extending his stay on the small screen with a new VH1 reality show – Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It, which casts Michaels alongside Kristi Gibson, his longtime on-and-off girlfriend and the mother of his two children. The show also stars the couple's daughters, 10-year-old Raine and 5-year-old Jorja, who refer to their rock star dad as "Papa Rocka."

The show premieres Monday, October 18 at 10 p.m. ET and will document the 47-year-old's efforts to juggle family life and the demands of a rock and roll lifestyle.

Now nearly as famous for his multiple forays into reality TV as he is for his work as frontman of iconic pop metal group Poison, Michaels formerly starred as the object of affection of 25 women in VH1's Rock of Love with Bret Michaels (and its sequels), as the winning contestant in Celebrity Apprentice 3 and as a judge in Nashville Star. Rock of Love pulled in VH1's highest ratings for any series yet, and the network's hopes are high for Michaels' newest project. - more on this story

Buffalo Springfield Reunion
(Gibson) Neil Young, Stephen Stills and Richie Furray are reforming as Buffalo Springfield for the first time in 42 years for a concert this fall. The three original members of the '60s folk-rock group will be reuniting for a performance during Young's annual Bridge School Benefit in Mountain View, California, according to RollingStone.com.

Young, Stills and Furray are the only surviving members of Buffalo Springfield's initial lineup. Bassist Dave Palmer died in 2004 and drummer Dewey Martin died last year. There's no word on who will fill those slots, or if the band will perform as an acoustic trio.

The last time Buffalo Springfield played a public show was in 1968 (they once performed privately at Stills' house in 1986). There was talk of a reunion tour, but Young wasn't interested. Subsequently, Martin and Palmer brought in other members and toured as Buffalo Springfield Revisited. In 1997, the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but Young chose not to attend. However, three years later, he released the song "Buffalo Springfield Again," in which he discussed getting the band back together and sang, "Maybe we can now show the world what we got." - more on this story

Pepper Keenan and Philip Anselmo Down With Diary of a Mad Band
Down's 3 disc (2 CD/1 DVD) release, Diary of a Mad Band, will hit stores on October 5th, 2010. Two key members of the band offer these comments on the release:

Guitarist Pepper Keenan affirms, "The DVD is an in-depth look at what five boys from the wrong side of the tracks can achieve when motivated by the will to escape hard times, fueled by an unexplainable quest to destroy live and be embraced by the love of fans whom we had not had the pleasure of meeting yet. This is how it's supposed to be: rock solid."

Vocalist Philip Anselmo adds, "This is a semi-ugly glimpse into what would end up the perfect building blocks to a much more prosperous future! Raw, distorted, unpredictable, and with a freshly mended spine in tow, these shows were desperately important to us as a cohesive unit. Take this trip through the old days with us at your own risk, and don't forget to bring some aspirin!" - more on this story

(Gibson) English ska legends The Specials are returning to the studio with their original lineup for the first time in 30 years. The band, who made rude boy culture fashionable in the late '70s, have been playing live shows since reforming in 2008. After playing the same old songs on stage for two years, The Specials are ready to record something new.

Singer Terry Hall told BBC6, "We think going forward is a healthy thing to do. We've discussed things that will take us on a slightly different route. It will be different to what we've done, just because it has to be really, because we can't keep doing the same set."

The Specials were formed in 1977 and, two years later, hit the top of the U.K. charts with the single "Too Much Too Young." Combining '60s rude boy style and ska-punk beats, the band were a unique force to be reckoned with on the U.K. music scene. Within three years, they charted seven songs in the Top 10. In 1981, though, the group fell apart with three key members leaving to form Fun Boy Three. Though various incarnations have carried on since that time, it wasn't until 2008 that the original members have played together. - more on this story

Brandon Flowers Fall Tour
The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers is hitting the road this fall in support of his new solo album, Flamingo, which hit North American stores yesterday and just topped the charts in the U.K.

Here is what their PR has to say about the album, followed by the tour dates: Produced by Stuart Price, Daniel Lanois, and Brendan O'Brien, Flamingo is a stunning 10-song collection from an artist whose brilliant showmanship and powerful vocals have made him such a recognizable and iconic artist.

The record is a classic American rock album, full of extraordinary choruses, vast instrumentation and Flowers' incredible voice, sounding richer and fiercer than ever before. Exuding all that dazzles and shines about his hometown of Las Vegas, Flamingo is packed full of sparkling, stadium-ready songs that you cannot help but sing along with. - more on this story

Eagle Rock will simultaneously release the DVD and Blu-ray standard editions of "Ladies & Gentlemen…The Rolling Stones" on October 12.

This is probably the most sought after Rolling Stones concert performance and it has been fully restored and remastered from the original film print and multitrack audio masters.

Ladies & Gentlemen follows the highly successful CD reissue of Exile On Main Street (Universal Music Group) in May of this year and the Stones In Exile DVD (Eagle Rock Entertainment) on June 22, 2010. The October 12 releases will be followed shortly after by a deluxe edition box set with additional bonus material and memorabilia. - more on this story

Gold Train
Train's latest album, "Save Me San Francisco," has gone Gold having sold more than 500,000 copies since its release and fueled by two hit singles including the quadruple Platinum "Hey, Soul Sister".

Released in August 2009, "Hey, Soul Sister," became Train's fourth Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and second-ever Top 10 single, peaking at #3 on the Hot 100 six months after its release.

The highest peaking, and most successful single in Train history, "Hey, Soul Sister" wound up out-charting 2001's Grammy-winning "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)" (#4) and 2003's "Calling All Angels" (#17) on the Hot 100. - more on this story

Whitesnake Lose Yet Another Member
Another week and another lineup change for Whitesnake. This time it is keyboard player Timothy Drury who has parted with the group. Here is what he had to say:

For over seven years now I have been fortunate enough to travel the world, to play and sing my heart out and to share the stage with David Coverdale as a part of Whitesnake. During that time I have been inspired and filled with such a great sense of the beauty that the world has to offer and also with the joy that music can bring to an audience. More than ever, I see the value of what I can express as a composer and producer, photographer, songwriter, singer... as an artist. That is why I must now say my goodbyes to you all and take my leave to pursue some very important creative projects that have been brewing for some time now.

For those of you who have gone to my sites and commented on my work as a visual artist and as a composer, I hope you have sensed how deliberate and passionate I am about interpreting what I see and feel. There are some great new opportunities for me to do that now and the time has come to focus on using my gifts to the fullest extent possible. - more on this story

New Coldplay Album Delayed
(Gibson) Although the members of Coldplay initially promised to have a new album released by the end of 2010, it's now looking like Chris Martin and Co. will be working on it through the new year. Coldplay's fifth album won't come out until sometime in 2011, according to a Coldplay fansite (Coldplaying.com).

The band spoke at a meet and greet event, saying they had lots of work ahead of them. According to a post on Coldplaying.com, "Chris said that although they are close to finishing lots of songs, they have not actually finished anything at all yet."

Former Coldplay manager Phil Harvey had more bad news for Coldplay fans. Although the band's tour for previous album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends began immediately after the record's release, Coldplay will take a little more time between the release of the unnamed fifth album and the next tour. Although no specific dates were mentioned, there is a possibility Coldplay won't tour again until 2012 -
