Killswitch Engage Reunite With Original Frontman Jesse Leach
Rock Photographer Will Hawkins had this bit of exciting news for Killswitch Engage fans on his blog Thursday night: Tonight, the rumors were confirmed. Killswitch Engage's original frontman, Jesse Leach, took the stage with KSE at the Fillmore @ Irving Plaza in New York City.

Phil Labonte of All That Remains has been filling in on vocals since Howard Jones' surprise drop from the this tour last month. Phil has been doing a spectacular job and the crowds have been posting great reviews! Love for Howard is definitely out there as well..!

Tonight, Phil sang a few songs (killed it!!), the lights went out... and the intro to "My Last Serenade" began... The crowd began singing the intro/chorus, the lights came on, and Jesse powered out onto the stage! A few seconds later, the crowd was in a complete uproar!

Read more of Will's report, check out photos and (hopefully by the time you read this) video from the gig - here

Rolling Stones DVDs Coming Soon
Eagle Rock Entertainment are delighted to announce that they have signed a deal with the Rolling Stones to release two DVDs this year. The Rolling Stones have long been viewed by many as Britain's most important rock 'n' roll band and these releases, concentrating on some of their finest work laid down in the '70s, will certainly cement that reputation.

The first of the releases Stones In Exile is the story of the making of the classic album Exile On Main Street, which was released in 1972 as a double LP and is considered by many to be their masterpiece. This title is due to be released in June with substantial bonus material and follows the broadcast of the main show by the BBC in late May, and the reissue of the album at the same time.

The second of the releases is Ladies And Gentlemen...The Rolling Stones, the legendary Rolling Stones concert film from 1972. Fully restored from the original film, it will be released nationally in cinemas and then receive its first ever authorized DVD release. The title will also be released in high definition on Blu-ray in the Autumn of 2010.

Ion Dissonance Finish Recording New Album
Montreal extreme metal purists, Ion Dissonance, recently completed the recording process for their new effort, Cursed, which is set for an early summer release.

The offering was tracked at .357 Productions with Ion guitar player, Antoine Lussier (who also produced Emmure's latest) at the production helm. Fans can expect a more refined and streamlined approach that just goes straight for the jugular with a frenetic assault of the band's trademarked mathematic brutality.

Kevin (vocals) further states: "We are now completely finished with the tracking process for our new album, Cursed. We only have a few more days of mixing left and we will be hitting up Wild Studios in the coming weeks to master our efforts and finally put an end to this horribly long and arduous recording process. We have been hacking away at this thing for the past three months and are down to our last few days. To see the light at the end of the tunnel and to hear what we have put together is motivating as Hell for us. We all had high hopes for this record and feel that we have undoubtedly delivered the goods." -

Strange Kozmic Experience: The Doors, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix
On April 5, 2010, The Grammy Museum will debut its third major special exhibit, Strange Kozmic Experience. Housed on the Museum's second floor, the exhibit will explore the innovations, legacies, and continual impact of the artists who defined a generation: The Doors, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix.

"Forty years later, the music of The Doors, Joplin, and Hendrix still resonate in rock circles and popular culture, an enduring testimony to the power and freedom of 1960s rock," said Museum Executive Director and music historian Robert Santelli. "Provocative, counter-cultural, and experimental, these artists stirred senses and celebrated personal freedom like never before, so we're pleased to offer fans the rare opportunity to engage with them again in such a personal way."

Rising from distinctly different backgrounds yet united by a common love of the blues and rock and roll, Hendrix, Joplin, and The Doors made music that revolutionized and energized rock's most fertile and provocative period: the 1960s. The untimely deaths of Jimi Hendrix (Sept. 18, 1970), Janis Joplin (Oct. 4, 1970), and Jim Morrison (July 3, 1971), all at the age of 27 and within one year of each other, marked the end of a decade unmatched in free-spirited and experimental creativity. To this day, the losses are still being felt: Hendrix stands unsurpassed as the greatest electric guitarist of all-time; Joplin's heightened dimension of blues singing has yet to be matched; and never has a band brought poetry and artistic sophistication to blues and rock the way The Doors did. Strange Kozmic Experience will explore how these artists became icons, where they took music, and why their art still resonates.

Don't Judge Sex Slaves By Their Name
Morley has a great new interview with Sex Slaves' Del Cheetah. We thought we would share a little bit of it with you this fine Friday. Here you go: antiMusic: Because of the name of the band, along with some of your songs like "All Night Long" and "…Jack Daniels", people concentrate a little too much on the circus that seems to surround you guys and less on the fact that you guys are phenomenal songwriters?

Del: It happens once in a while. I've read reviews of the last record which slam the record and say it's just about f*cking. And even that one wasn't just about that. But they definitely got the record; they look at the name; they look at the picture and look at the first couple of song titles and they chalk it up to you know, "oh, it's this kind of band," before they even really… I don't know what happens. They probably don't even really listen to the whole record, just the first couple of songs. And you get that once in a while, but I think we've broken out of that a little bit with this record. But in general I think when people take the time to listen to the whole thing; we don't get that quite as much. It's happened for sure. (laughs)

antiMusic: Eric says that you and J were a bit pissed at one point that he was writing a lot of songs like "Just a Memory". In retrospect, are you happy with the amount of diversity on the record like "Memory", "Beautiful Embrace" and "Mexico"?

Del: I'm happy with where it's at right now. There's stuff that we left off that we almost couldn't believe that we left off, because there's a couple of really good…there's one in particular, this one really good, it's a total ballad this song. It's called "Sunny Day". It's super sad, but it's a really really good song. But we didn't want to have two songs like that on the record. I'm sure it'll come out eventually. It was like a big debate which one to put on. I like the ratio the way it is now because even the more down-tempo stuff, for the most part, is still like cool and heavy in its own way. Like "I Live at Night", has probably the heaviest guitars on the record on it, even though it's like more of a mid-tempo, sad song. "Mexico" has really thick, heavy guitars on it. They all have all that really heavy sh*t on them.

"I Live at Night" comes across great live. You can still pull that stuff off live. It kind of goes back to like that AC/DC thing; we wanted to make a record that was like a journey. You could listen to it start to finish and a lot of the compliments we've gotten on this new record is that you don't get bored. It's not 12 of the same songs. It IS a journey. And it's cool. I think that's a good accomplishment, to be able to pull off a lot of different styles and make them cool, I think it's like a huge attribute.

Peter Tosh and Gram Parsons Film & Television Music Licensing Deal Struck
Dangerbird Records is proud to announce an agreement for Dangerbird's Licensing Division to represent the legendary music of Peter Tosh and Gram Parsons for film & television music licensing opportunities. Under the terms of the deal between Dangerbird and the respective Estates, Dangerbird will seek placements for Tosh and Parsons compositions in film, television, trailers, promos, advertisements and video games. Both Estates are managed by JAM, Inc.

Peter Tosh was a pivotal force in the development of reggae music. As one of the founding members of The Wailers, Tosh was the ultimate firebrand, relentlessly speaking out against oppression and injustice, in both his songs and public statements. Tosh demonstrated the power of personal and artistic integrity alongside pride and defiance in the face of authoritarian power. His music's insurrectionary fervor has inspired artists of all stripes, from reggae disciples to punk-rock acolytes like The Clash, with globally-recognized songs such as "Legalize It," "Equal Rights," "Get Up Stand Up" and "(You Gotta Walk) Don't Look Back."

Gram Parsons has been ranked one of the most influential artists of all time and credited as one of the founders of country rock, as well as alt-country. Parsons' collaborative compositions, often with Emmylou Harris, and stunning solo catalogue include such stellar songs as "Love Hurts," "A Song for You," "She," "Ooh Las Vegas" and "Return of the Grievous Angel." Gorgeously melodic, witty and deep, Gram's material filters the structural and stylistic genius of classic country through a contemporary pop sensibility and his evocative delivery showed him to be an interpretive vocalist of the highest order. -
