James Taylor and Carole King Announce Live Album and DVD, Add New Tour Dates
You now have more opportunities to witness the historic pairing of James Taylor and Carole King. The duo have added more dates to their mammoth Troubadour Reunion tour. If you can't make the show you'll be able to enjoy their historic 2007 Troubadour reunion shows on DVD and CD. Here is the official announcement followed by the latest tour dates:

In November of 1970, James Taylor and Carole King first performed together at the Troubadour on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, California. Taylor had just released his debut album for the Beatles' newly-formed Apple Records and King was finding her way as a first-time solo performer even though by then she was a famous songwriter with a string of hits for other artists. When they returned to the club for a two-week co-headlining run in 1971, their lives were somewhat different. That summer Taylor's "Fire and Rain" was topping the charts and King's landmark Tapestry was on its way to making her a music superstar. Thirty-six years later, in November 2007, James Taylor, Carole King and members of their renowned original band "The Section" (featuring guitarist Danny Kortchmar, bassist Leland Sklar and drummer Russell Kunkel) returned to the Troubadour for a three-night, six-show run to celebrate the venue's 50th anniversary. Those historic shows are documented in Live at the Troubadour, a special 2-disc CD/DVD available May 4th from Hear Music/Concord Music Group.

This remarkable recording, culled from these unforgettable string of shows, features 15 songs and 75 minutes of pristine video and audio, including stunning performances of the pair's most beloved hits such as Carole King's "So Far Away," "It's Too Late," and "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?," as well as James Taylor's "Carolina in My Mind," "Sweet Baby James," and "Fire and Rain," to name just a few. - more on this story

Scarface Meets Dr. Phil Inspires Blestenation Mash-Up Of Suicidal Tendencies Classic
Blestenation has released the video for their mash-up of the Suicidal Tendencies classic "Institutionalized" online. Blestenation will release their debut album, "MBugout City", on April 13th, 2010 through Suburban Noize
Records.

"I have been a fan of Suicidal Tendencies since I was a little kid," says Werdplay from Blestenation. "I wasn't able to be a part of the scene at the time, because I was a bit young, so this is kind of like my tribute to them. I actually did get to see Suicidal live for the first time when they played with Madball at Irving Plaza in early 2009 and they were insane. Those guys still put on one hell of a show after all these years."

"I got the idea for the video from watching a skit on the Leno show one night where he had the scene from the end of Scarface, but he put Dr. Phil's face on Tony Montana," added FAFU. "The original is an epic song and we re-vamped it with Nate Albert on guitar. I always loved the difference between the mellow verse of the song and how loud and crazy the chorus was. We did our best to recreate that in a hip hop style."

Ivory's Nathaniel Moon Returns with Fairline
Fairline, featuring Nathaniel Moon, has released their single, "Need A Way Out," online for free download or name-your-own-price. Citing influences from Phoenix to Rufus Wainwright, Fairline have begun to create their own unique sound and place in today's musical landscape.

This all comes two years after the breakup of Nathaniel's former band, Ivory. He shares, "I used to be in a band called Ivory years ago and we were on the up and up in the indie scene. Our first tour we played for about three thousand people a night with our friends in Hawthorne Heights. They were at their peak, releasing their second record after their first went Gold and kind enough to bring us out to pop our road cherry. We had done a record with JT's (Hawthorne Heights) label, Carbon Copy Records. However, shortly after touring with Hawthorne [Heights] we heard the news that their band, meaning our label as well, was going to be involved in a lawsuit that would hold back our record and potentially our career. We were off the label and off the road. Ivory continued on for about another week or so and then within about two weeks of being home, our guitarist left, the band broke up, my girlfriend of two years at the time started dating my ex-roommate, I lost my car, and job. Everything I put my identity into was gone within two weeks. I was a wreck." - more on this story

George Lynch Recording With Willie Basse and Andy Johns
Dokken, Lynch Mob and current 'Souls of WE' guitarist, George Lynch has joined '80's Metal Pioneer Willie Basse in his Burbank, CA studio to record a new single, "Break Away" for Basse's upcoming new studio album. The track and album is being recorded by Basse and Led Zeppelin engineer, Andy Johns and is expected to surface in late 2010 through Basse's own New Empire Media, Inc.

"Working with George Lynch again is amazing and we're enjoying lots of creative fun! We can actually do anything and go anywhere without limits," commented Willie Basse. "His contribution to my project, along with unmatched professional musicianship enlightens me, and inspires me to new heights."

"Ok. First you have Andy Johns.. Hello Andy Johns?! He's done a few records...Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones.." added George Lynch. "Then you've got Willie, who I played with back in the 80s, so we've got some history. Willie is so passionate about the music that he lives and breathes. Working on these tracks is liking going back in time, in a good way! It's very reminiscent of Priest and other hard rock bands of that era. And everything starts out analog. You just can't beat tape. I felt like I was back in 1987 recording a classic Dokken record!"

Dio Endorses Guitar Charity Auction
Prosthetic Records is currently auctioning an Epiphone Prophecy Futura Custom EX on eBay, with all proceeds benefitting the T.J. Martell Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports research for cancer, AIDS and leukemia. The guitar will be signed by the six Prosthetic acts who will play the label's inaugural SXSW showcase at Mohawk in Austin, Texas on Wednesday night (Mar. 17): Scale The Summit, Landmine Marathon, Withered, Book of Black Earth, The Funeral Pyre and Clinging To The Trees of a Forest Fire.

The T.J. Martell Foundation was recommended to Prosthetic by the management of legendary vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who was diagnosed with stomach cancer late last year. A 501(c)3 non-profit founded in the 1970s, the Foundation has helped Dio receive key treatment in his ongoing battle against cancer. More information on the organization can be found at www.tjmartellfoundation.org.

Prosthetic was honored to receive these words of encouragement directly from Dio himself shortly after the auction went live on Monday: "It's great to be a part of your wonderful charitable event, and all the caring performers who are giving of themselves to aid the charity of my choice. My current misfortune has opened my eyes to the constant need for funds to battle the ravages of cancer, and I am therefore pleased to endorse your efforts to auction off an Epiphone guitar signed by the aforementioned musicians to benefit the T.J.Martell Cancer Foundation. Let's hope a generous amount of money can be raised for this ultra-worthy cause. Thanks so much for you concern and humanity. It's a gesture of kindness I will never forget. Love and Magic to you all, Ronnie James Dio"

Seasick Steve's Man From Another Time Hitting U.S. Stores Later This Month
Ryko is pleased to announce the U.S. release of Seasick Steve's Man From Another Time on March 30, 2010. The tale of Seasick Steve is that of an anomaly in modern recorded music – signed in his 60's, the US-born musician came to see a platinum-selling album in the UK, become the oldest Brit Award nominee in history and the winner of Mojo's Best Breakthrough Act.

Seasick Steve's "sudden" career rise began to take place in 2006 after a UK television appearance on Jools Holland's 'Annual Hootenanny' BBC TV show. His electrifying performance immediately propelled him into the UK public's consciousness. As his star rose, crowds flocked to his live events worldwide, including in a sold-out performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London, and appearances such at festivals such as: UK Reading, Leeds, Glastonbury (UK), Coachella, All Points West (U.S.) and Fuji Rock Festival (Japan).

"Every time I walk out in front of these thousands of people, I think 'Goddamn, how can someone who's not young, and didn't used to be famous already have all this success out of the blue?" Seasick Steve remarked. "My belief is I've come at the right time. People are tired of everythin' bein' so fancy. I guess they kinda like hearin' me with an acoustic guitar stompin' on a box."
