Is Duff Leaving Velvet Revolver?
Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins says new recruit Duff McKagan has committed to being a full-time member of the band – and it might mark the end of his time with the dormant Velvet Revolver outfit.

VR went on hiatus two years ago after sacking singer Scott Weiland, who returned to Stone Temple Pilots. Efforts to find a new singer have continued on and off, with band members regularly saying the hunt is still on. Meanwhile, guitarist Slash is touring his solo album while McKagan –who also fronts his own band, Loaded – was announced as Eric Avery's replacement in Jane's Addiction last week.

And Perkins says their new member will clarify his position soon. "Duff knows how fragile bands are, but he's in for the ride. He's with us. He's one of us. Jane's Addiction is now the four of us: Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Duff and myself," He tells Music Radar. "Duff's a full-time member and he's ready to bite off as much as we are. What that means for the future of Velvet Revolver, I don't know – I think he might be getting ready to say something in the column he writes for the Seattle Weekly." - more on this story

Rush To Play Full Moving Pictures Album On Their Time Machine Tour
The Time Machine Tour is an evening with Rush, where they will perform their classics, give a taste of the future – and for the first time ever – feature the Moving Pictures album live in its entirety.

The band is currently working on their 20th studio album with producer Nick Raskulinecz (co-producer from 2007's Snakes & Arrows) and in addition to their classics plan to showcase a few new tunes live this summer.

"We were off for a year and a half, and now it's just pouring. Everything is totally crazy and there's not a minute left in the day. We've got these half-dozen songs, and we'll probably go in the studio and work on a couple of them and see how it goes, perhaps release something – and I say perhaps – and then we plan on being on the road," says guitarist, Alex Lifeson.

Mike Patton Doesn't Know Why Faith No More Reunited
(Rock Radio) Faith No More frontman Mike Patton isn't sure why the band chose to reform last year. He doesn't know whether they're still relevant and he fears it might be a fans' nostalgia trip – but whichever way it goes, he know he's enjoying it.

The iconic alt-rockers got back together in early 2009 (without guitarist Big Jim Martin), and after a warm-up show in London made their first official comeback appearance at the Download festival in June. Since then they've continued to play live, and continue to be well-received by crowds.

'Why now?' is a question I can't answer with any sort of intelligence. I have no idea.," Patton said in an interview. "There's something in our culture that fetishises things from the past – we've got more attention now than we ever had before we reunited. That's weird and it tells you about people and our society." - more on this story

All That Remains Begin Work On New Album
All That Remains fans can rejoice. The band is set to begin recording the follow up to 2008's Overcome, their biggest-selling release to date. Pre-production begins this week at Zing Studios in Westfield, MA on the as-yet-untitled album. Returning to the producer's chair is Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam D who previously helmed the band's 2006 release The Fall Of Ideals as well as 2004's This Darkened Heart.

The band is obviously stoked about getting back to work with their buddy. "So I'm home from six weeks filling in on vocals for Killswitch, get to our practice space, and there's Adam D again!!! FUGG!!!" joked ATR's lead singer Phil Labonte exclusively to Noisecreep.com. "We're in 'time to make the donuts' mode, and the donuts are metal tunes! We're pumped to be working with Adam again. Nothin' like making music in the spring with good friends in Massachusetts."

"Like I haven't had my 'Phil' of Phil from ATR as he was 'Philling' in on the last K$E tour," said Adam D to Noisecreep.com. "When they asked me to do the new record I GLADLY accepted. Although their practice space reeks of stale beer, Burger King farts, and 'Chicopee tears', I've heard some of their new stuff and it sounds like it's gonna be pretty sweet! Expect blazing leads, Greek chugs, some female bottom, a good amount of eastern Mass kicks, and big vocals from a little man. Har har har!"

Pain of Salvation Set Release Date, Announce Tour Dates
Sweden's Pain of Salvation gear up for their 11th offering, Road Salt One, in US stores on June 8, 2010. In a world governed by increasingly rigid rules and conformist conceptions of art, Sweden's progressive superstars, Pain of Salvation, have created their own niche in the international music scene. Their upcoming album, Road Salt One is the first installment of a double album project which showcases the band's outstanding emotion and intensity while leaning a little more towards modern rock with a colourful '70s flare.

Since the band's inception in 1984 (originally called "Reality" then renamed "Pain of Salvation" in 1991), frontman Daniel Gildenlφw has followed his own musical path mixing elements of metal, pop, funk, disco, blues, goth, folk, Arabian and Asian influences and of course, Prog.

"Skills and complexity should be part of the machinery, not the functionality or design," says the band's frontman Daniel Gildenlφw, "so I try to hide it away where the engine is supposed to be – under the hood of a machine built mainly to process ideas and emotions." - more on this story

Singled Out: Murder By Death
Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today Adam Turla from Murder By Death tells us about "Foxglove" from their brand new album "Good Morning, Magpie". We now turn it over to Adam for the story:

I wrote "Foxglove" while I was out solo camping in the Smokey Mountains. Two weeks by yourself gets pretty lonely, and I found myself dreaming of women often. The song is my first love song for MBD, and I liked the idea of a lusty ghost woman visiting a lonely traveler in the middle of the night.

At first, the lyrics are mostly about lust, and in time it becomes apparent that the traveler is actually lusting for his wife/lover. It's all about the combination of a light/pretty sound with the occasional creepy lyric.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!
