Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax Tour May Be On Tap
Blabbermouth reports: Slayer guitarist Kerry King has told U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine that he has heard through the grapevine that Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich is plotting a tour that would include Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax.

Should this tour materialize, this would be the first time that the so-called "Big Four" of thrash have toured together as part of the same bill.

Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax were joined by opening act Alice In Chains for the U.S. Clash Of The Titans tour in 1991, while Metallica and Megadeth last shared a U.K. stage at Milton Keynes Bowl in 1993. - more on this story

Johnny Rotten To Resurrect His Post Sex Pistols Band PIL
Reuters reports: Punk rock singer John Lydon, formerly known as Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols, is re-forming his band Public Image Ltd -- or PiL -- after a 17 year hiatus with a five-date tour in December, according to media reports.

Lydon told Britain's Guardian newspaper that the influential band he created in 1978, a year after the disintegration of the Sex Pistols, and which lasted for 14 years, would reform with a new line-up.

He said the new-look PiL will not contain original band members Jah Wobble or former Clash guitarist Keith Levene but will feature guitarist Lu Edmonds, drummer Bruce Smith and a new arrival, multi-instrumentalist Scott Firth. - more on this story

"Anyway, here's the new plan. I appreciate your patience and understanding — we're attempting to make sure that everyone has the best experience possible and we're at full power."

The dates are as follows: Sep. 08 - Henry Fonda - Sep. 10 - The Wiltern - Details on Reznor's illness and a video of Hitler's reaction to the cancelations

Lost John Lennon Interviews Published
Nightwatcher reports: A series of interviews with late Beatles legend John Lennon have been published - revealing the star's thoughts on his bandmate Paul McCartney and the Fab Four's split. The interviews also include previously unpublished chats with McCartney and Ringo Starr by British journalist Ray Connolly.

In one of the tapes, recorded in 1969, Lennon is heard praising McCartney's musical ability at a time when the legendary band was on the verge of splitting up and after he was rumored to have dismissed his pal's work as pop ditties. Lennon tells Connolly, "(For No One from the Revolver album) that was one of the good ones. All his semi-classical ones are best, actually. I suppose it was a bit hard on him... I only ever asked two people to work with me as a partner. One was Paul McCartney and the other Yoko Ono."

Lennon also opens up about the reasons behind the band's split, insisting he wanted to initiate the break up months before they parted ways in 1970 - but they stayed together in case it damaged sales of their album Let It Be. - more on this story

Remaining Bee Gees Plan Reunion
BBC reports: The surviving members of the Bee Gees are to perform together again, six years on from the death of bandmate and brother Maurice Gibb.

"The two of us are getting back together again as we speak," Robin Gibb revealed on BBC Radio's Test Match Special cricket programme.

He and brother Barry had "got through the breakwater of emotions" following their sibling's 2003 death, he said. He revealed the band were planning a series of live dates. - more on this story

Metal Greats Team Up For Vegas Star
antiMusic reports: The Las Vegas Sun was on hand for a rather different recording session that involved Pantera great Vinnie Paul, Rough Cutt frontman Paul Shortino and Lizzy Borden guitarist Ira Black. Before you say, "oh no, not another super group!" It's not quite that. We'll let the Sun introduce you to the project and what it's all about:

Black, Paul and Shortino are friends of Carrot Top's who are recording a new opening for C.T.'s stage show at the Luxor. The song is a muscled-up version of the Stephen Sondheim classic "Send in the Clowns."

The Topper heard this song randomly (how else?) when surfing his car stereo a few months ago while stopped at a traffic light on Spring Mountain Road and Jones Boulevard. He thought of the moment in his show where he refers to himself as a "mean clown" and imagined that song in the hands of some of his heavy-metal buddies. He first asked Shortino to take part, and the project quickly came together as Shortino summoned Black, Paul and 18-year-old session player Tyler Burgess on bass. - Now go behind the scenes of the recording of this soon to be classic here

antiMusic reports: Atlantic Records sent this over: Scott Weiland, legendary lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, performed live at Wasted Space at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on September 2nd to promote the launch of his new men's clothing line, Weiland for English Laundry.

He arrived for the red carpet dressed head-to-toe in designs from his new line and performed songs from his solo album, Happy in Galoshes, as well as a couple Stone Temple Pilots classics for a packed crowd at Wasted Space.

Weiland for English Laundry, a collaboration with English Laundry designer, Christopher Wicks, debuted at the MAGIC trade show during the week. The collection features rock-inspired wovens, vests, t-shirts, pants, hats, ties and scarves. Weiland for English Laundry blends the classic style and high quality of English Laundry with the design flare of the iconic, fashionable STP front man.

Amusement Parks On Fire EP and Tour
PR reports: Amusement Parks On Fire has harnessed its otherworldly swirl of soaring guitars, epic-punk power, and pop sensibility for Young Fight, an EP that pairs together two unreleased songs with three previously released tracks, set for launch September 8, digitally via Filter U.S. Recordings.

The band will give U.S. audiences a dose of their incendiary live show while on tour opening for legendary post-punkers The Psychedelic Furs and The Happy Mondays.

Originally created in 2004 as a solo project, singer/guitarist Michael Feerick has expanded his rock 'n' roll vehicle into a full five-piece band. Since the expansion, the UK-based fivesome's sound has developed into a heady pastiche that pays tribute to such disparate genres as '70s progressive rock, punk, dream pop and grunge. - more on this story

Scholarships From Late DMB Great LeRoi Moore
PR reports: The LeRoi Moore Fund, established by the late saxophonist's trust to ensure that his philanthropic activities would continue after his passing, has created three four-year college scholarship programs that will launch with the 2010-2011 academic year.

The Fund will also make annual contributions to the following charities: Toys For Tots, Habitat for Humanity, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Moore, a founding member of Dave Matthews Band, had regularly supported these organizations during his lifetime. Born in Durham, NC on September 7th, 1961, Moore died on August 19, 2008 from complications stemming from an ATV accident earlier in the summer.

"LeRoi was one of the most generous people I have ever met, although he was very private about it. It is great to see that his legacy of giving will live on," said Rit Venerus, Trustee of Moore's estate. The LeRoi Moore Fund, which was established by LeRoi's Trust, is administered by the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation. - more on this story
