Airbourne Go Soph
PR reports: Australian rockers Airbourne are pleased to announce No Guts, No Glory as the title of their second album for Roadrunner Records. The album is set for release on February 23, 2010.

No Guts, No Glory was recorded in Chicago with noted producer Johnny K (Disturbed, 3 Doors Down, Staind). The band relocated from their shared home in Warrnambool and moved into K's spacious studio to record the album.

Frontman Joel O'Keefe says, "Working with Johnny was great, he's one of the boys. We basically just set up all the gear, chucked a few mics around and went for it! Good times!" Brother and drummer Ryan confirms the precarious microphone placement, "With this album, we threw the mics all over the building, left the doors and windows open and pressed record!"

Quest For Fire Tour Plans
Tee Pee reports: Quest For Fire has announced a set of eastern Canada and US tour dates that will begin in Waterloo, Ontario on November 11th.

The band will jump on the Canadian leg of the Priestess/Early Man tour before doing a string of headlining dates that will take them into the US.

Upon the inevitable demise of Canada's most beloved garage rock underdogs, The Deadly Snakes (In the Red Records), of which Andrew and Chad were core members, Quest For Fire began to prepare for their great unveiling before Toronto's wary rock scene. On a hot August night in 2007, the band made their first appearance at 'The Boat', one of Toronto's most cherished dive bars located in Kensington Market. They quickly became the city's most sought-after new band. Show offers came flooding in to open for acts such as Black Mountain, Ladyhawk, Mudhoney, Earthless, Howlin Rain, Witch and more. As their old bands burned out, QFF took off. The Deadly Snakes faded with time and Mike's tenure with Canadian metal/hardcore heads Cursed came to an abrupt end. One year after the release of their debut album on Montreal's Storyboard label, QFF is stoked to announce that they have been picked up by New York's Tee Pee Records. - more on this story

Joe Nichols Offers Cyber Hope For the Addicted
PR reports: Joe Nichols has partnered with TheHopeLine in creating a website designed to help people who are struggling with addictions (www.anoldfriendofmine.com). The partnership came about when Dave Anderson, TheHopeLine's director of rescue, saw Nichols' music video for "An Old Friend Of Mine." Both the song and video honestly depict the battle with substance abuse, and the song is the closing track on Nichols' upcoming CD release, Old Things New.

"Partnering with Joe Nichols to help people struggling with addictions is very exciting," Anderson said. "Those struggling need to understand there is hope and TheHopeLine wants to help reach, rescue and restore them as they begin their journey to recovery. We are hopeful Joe's effort will encourage other mainstream artists to consider how they might help their fans, and others, who might be struggling with difficulty in their life."
TheHopeLine will make a HopeCoach available to moderate the chat room on Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm (ET) for an entire month, beginning this week. The goal is to help individuals find help and hope in a moment of need.

While the song isn't the artist's single, the lyrics are so compelling, Nichols knew a certain spotlight had to be placed on "An Old Friend Of Mine." Having struggled with addiction issues himself, it was a song he could relate to. Taking it a step further to partner with TheHopeLine meant he could possibly help others with their own struggles. - more on this story

Motion Turns It On Offering CD Advances On Current Tour
PR reports: When the Silent Ballet stated that Motion Turns It On threw the gauntlet down to jazzy post-rockers everywhere with their debut EP, RIMA, it was sorta a surprise when they picked up their own damn gauntlet. A live album soon followed, showcasing Motion's blazing live chops and unit coherence on stage as well as in the studio. Now enter, Kaleidoscopic Equinox (Feb 16), their first true LP and first with Chocolate Lab.

Motion Turns It On are on the road now, touring the US in anticipation of the album release. They will also be selling advance version of KE at live shows.

Kaleidoscopic Equinox is a kick you in the throat, French-kiss your mom, take your Xbox and pawn it affair; oozing with rambunctious drums (Steve Smith), dizzying keys (Andres Londono) and devastating guitar (William Kenny). The x-factor this time around though is vocal, shedding the "instrumental" stigma that's been hovering around the band. Lyrics are a Spartan affair, layering with the instruments to augment the reality of the music; guitarist/vocalist Kenny uses his larynx as another instrument in the assault on your auditory system. - more on this story
