Lamb of God Forbid Guitarist Explains Beer Assault
Metal Underground reports: God Forbid guitarist Doc Coyle, who was filling in for Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton on their opening trek with Metallica, has issues an official statement through MetalSucks.net regarding the much-publicized incident in which a fan threw a cup of liquid at his face during a performance.

"I'm sure many of you have seen the video of me getting pegged on stage while I was on Metallica tour filling in for Mark from Lamb of God. Although 95% of the comments were really supportive, I just wanted to clarify a few things about the incident.

"First off, it was a beer, not a water. A big ol' tall boy plastic cup of beer, and whoever threw it must have been a quarterback because it was full and hit me square in the eye at full steam. It felt like I got sucker punched. I had a mark by my cheek bone and it was swollen all night. I surprised I didn't have a black eye. The way it hit me is probably the reason why I reacted the way I did. I'm no tough guy, but I wasn't really thinking. I just reacted. I really don't know what I would've done if anyone would've have owned up to throwing it, but I have no clue if I would've hit the person. I can say that I'm not violent at all, and don't think violence is a productive way to solve problems. - more on this story

iWeezer Lauched
Big Hassle reports: The Weezer iTunes Pass launches today on the iTunes Store. The iTunes Pass gives fans access to new and exclusive music, video, remixes, art and other content from their favorite artists over a set period of time, delivered to their iTunes library as soon as they're available.

Fans who purchase the WEEZER iTunes Pass ($19.99) will receive a variety of content beginning on October 13th with a cover of The Clash's "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" and continuing in weekly installments until November 24th. The WEEZER iTunes Pass includes a deluxe version of the band's new album Raditude plus exclusive additional tracks, live recordings, remixes, behind-the-scenes video footage and the music video for single "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To."

Raditude appears on the heels of 2008's The Red Album. This new offering sees the band trying a brand-new approach, choosing to collaborate with a wide variety of musicians, songwriters and producers. The result of this collaborative effort is a collection of songs that amplifies WEEZER's musical trademarks- deep-digging pop hooks and raucous rock riffs- while at the same time breaking new ground for the band. Raditude features appearances by Lil' Wayne, Jermaine Dupri and even a host of traditional Indian musicians. Within these 10 songs lie boundless possibilities and ceaseless excitement, proof that WEEZER remains a band that defies easy summations and can never be taken for granted, a band who has grown as they've opened their horizons. - more on this story

Korn Going Old School On New Album
Blabbermouth reports: Korn frontman Jonathan Davis saus that the band's forthcoming album follow-up to 2007's untitled effort is something of an unintended return to the group's roots, and not a concept, as initially planned.

"It's really like the old-school stuff ... like the first two records," Davis tells Noisecreep. "It's just going back to our roots, working with [producer] Ross [Robinson, who helmed the band's first two albums, 1994's 'Korn' and 1996's 'Life is Peachy']... it's just been amazing, and it sounds like nothing we've ever done. It's more in the vein of the first two records, and we're really excited about it.

"And working with Ross, it just sort of evolved out of us, naturally. He's got us going back to the old school-style of how we were writing, and how we all just sat in a room together and did all this stuff so. We're excited ... it's just how it's been taking shape." - more on this story

HER reports: Las Vegas rockers, Adelitas Way will hit the road with Breaking Benjamin this winter in support of their self-titled debut, which released July 14th on Virgin/EMI Music and debuted at #16 on Billboard's Top New Artist Chart. The tour will kick off in San Antonio, TX on Sunday, November 29 and will include a number of radio holiday shows through of Midwest.

The album's kick off single, the power-rock anthem "Invincible," has earned #1 Regional Heatseekers in this week's Billboard and has climbed to top 10 on the Active Rock radio chart. "Invincible" has already been tagged as WWE Superstars theme song, been used for spots promoting the 2009 season of Monday Night Countdown on ESPN and will be used in the new WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2010 Video Game, which hits stores October 20. Since then, the single has been streamed nearly 300,000 times on Adelitas Way's MySpace page.

Adelitas Way is fronted by singer Rick DeJesus, who grew up in a rough Philadelphia neighborhood that was ravaged by drugs and poverty. In 2005, he seized an opportunity to move to Las Vegas where he met up with lead guitarist Chris Iorio and drummer Trevor Stafford. They were later joined by guitarist Keith Wallen and bassist Derek Johnston when they started to record the album in Chicago. Soon the quintet was opening for artists like Chris Cornell, Hinder and Tantric, generating an impressive industry buzz that resulted in their signing with Virgin. - more on this story

My Ruin Reissues
MMP reports: In the mid 1990's America was hit by the first wave of the nu-metal revolution, with bands such as Korn and Deftones forcing their way into the mainstream. The second wave followed soon after, spawning several more or less successful groups wanting to forever change the face of heavy music. While some succeeded, most were eventually sentenced to oblivion.

From all those bands who prevailed, My Ruin led by charismatic Tairrie B., is probably the most uncompromising one. Opposite to weak songwriting, unimaginative riffs and jolly sing-a-long choruses, this group delivered genuine heaviness and brutality, backed by a powerful message which would generate real untamed emotions. These exclusive re-releases of My Ruin's first two albums will take you on a an unforgettable journey through the dark and twisted corners of the human soul… - more on this story

Steve Morse Band Album and Tour
Kayos reports: For a musician as talented as guitar maestro Steve Morse, there are no boundaries between genres; there is only his unique sound. On November 17, The Steve Morse Band will release a new studio album Out Standing In Their Field via Eagle Rock Entertainment . This will also be released digitally on October 13.

Morse, who got his start in the Dixie Dregs in the 1970s, has enjoyed a fruitful career, earning himself a reputation as a "musician's musician." He's spent the last sixteen years shredding for the legendary Deep Purple, in addition to fronting his own band. The release of Out Standing In Their Field will be the 12th album to date for The Steve Morse Band.

On this entirely instrumental album, Morse joins forces with bassist Dave LaRue and drummer Van Romaine to pound out un-tethered creativity. A multi-faceted blend of Morse's influences, Out Standing In Their Field is a diverse sound spectrum, twisting together elements of rock, country, jazz, funk and classical. Unencumbered by lyrics, Morse's guitar acts as a wailing, exploring siren, channeling emotion and raw power through the language of riffs. In addition to the ten brand new tracks boasted on Out Standing In Their Field, the band threw in an extra treat: a live recording of their song "Rising Power." This bonus track invokes the goosebump-inducing power the Steve Morse Band conjures on stage.

Singled Out: Andrew Dugan (The End of the World?)
antiMusic reports: Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today we do something a little different since we hear from an artist who has just put out a concept album. Andrew Dugan shares with us today the story behind the song "0700" as well as the overall concept of his new album MMXII. Here is Andrew with the story!

The wind blew a slow and steady mist over our faces. Staring over the valley and lake that embrace the back of my house, my friend Ian and I stood with our walking sticks, wearing blank looks on our faces. We both felt something big was going down and we were getting let in on it. It was getting closer. We were the kids that were "good at music" in our high school class. A year had passed since we graduated, yet we were still doing the same things (getting high, playing local shows in the Baltimore area with the same bands, being lead on that so-and-so would get us places, and feeling like some sort of break was way overdue). We began to discuss what the 2000-2010 decade of music even stood for. Our generation had no ambitions to make a name for ourselves or really accomplish anything. We got what we wanted fast and that was that. So what were we so "destined" to do musically? It seemed that our whole lives we had known that something bigger was meant for us with our names on it but it just never happened.

What were we supposed to do? Go to some big name college and get a dumb job we'd regret for the rest of our lives? And then it hit us. We were the generation that didn't care. We all thought the world was going to end so we never really cared about anything or anyone, just as long as we made it through that day, we were a little bit closer to not having to care about ANYTHING.

We would write music about the end of the world.

The rain picked up and a flock of geese honked by across the lake. That was it - we laid down our walking sticks and went up to my studio. The first note we hit in unison was the beginning of "0700". The riff was written almost instantaneously and I began singing what is now the first line of the seventh track on my CD: "Feels like the end of the world, Tastes like caviar".

After that night I kept working on this song as I really liked the idea. I decided that I was going to write a concept CD about 2012 and the end of the world. Each song would be titled by a different hour encompassing the last 6 hours on earth. I wrote a whole story about a prophet who warns the people of earth about a lightening storm that will destroy mankind. After the story was written I began work on the music. "0700" is the track where the prophet is standing atop a great hill warning the people about the storm and speaking of the damage it will do.

"And as they stand in line, they try to question
They question what they've done, there is NO question
The lightening strikes in a line, what can you do?
You run into the eye…

A barren wasteland that begs and pleads
No one will survive, Not even me
My heart is racing, I think I might be
I think that I might finally be FREE"
