Dredg singer/guitarist Gavin Hayes and drummer Dino Campanella had a run-in with the law while in the midst of their headlining show at Columbia Club in Berlin, Germany on Friday night. Two "police officers" interrupted the band's set to escort Hayes and Campanella offstage and issue arrest warrants for a vandalizing incident that happened the last time the band performed at the venue. Back then, bottles were broken outside the venue and, while the owner was mad and had police contact the band, they had no proof so charges were never officially pressed. Flash forward to last week when the band returned to the scene of the crime as part of their month-long overseas tour in support of "The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion," bassist Drew Roulette decided to play a practical joke on Hayes and Campanella and hired actors in police outfits waiting to arrest them. Thankfully it all proved to be fun and games.

Bart Steele sent over this statement about an appeal he has filed in his lawsuit regarding the Bon Jovi Baseball commercial and a Red Sox theme he wrote. His initial case struck out, so he's heading back up to the plate with this appeal. Here is what he had to say: On Friday, November 6, 2009, I filed a Notice of Appeal to the First Circuit Federal Court, which marks a turning point in my copyright lawsuit. The defendants in the case include Turner Broadcasting, Major League Baseball, The Boston Red Sox, and Bon Jovi. These defendants are connected in many ways--Major League Baseball Advanced Media runs Bon Jovi's website. My lawsuit is based on what I believe was the defendants' use of my Boston baseball playoff song "Man I Love This Team" as a temp track in the production of a commercial for Major League Baseball. The audio portion of that commercial was performed by Bon Jovi. I believe that commercial--both the visual images and the Bon Jovi audio-were derived from my song. I sent my song to the Red Sox and Major League Baseball and told them I had written another version called "Man I Really Love This Town." In basic legal terms, what I believe defendants did was make an "unauthorized derivative work." Their MLB "I Love This Town" campaign was one of the most expensive sports commercials in history.

Gerhardt "Jerry" Fuchs, beloved and respected drummer for The Juan MacLean, Holy Ghost!, Maserati, !!!, and Turing Machine, amongst others, passed away in the early hours on Sunday, November 8th due to an unfortunate elevator accident that occurred in a Brooklyn loft building. He was pronounced dead at Bellevue Medical Center, a few hours later. Jerry was born on December 30, 1974 in Marietta, Georgia. After attending the University of Georgia for graphic design, he left for New York in 1995 to join the band Vineland. His achievements were numerous as he became a New York fixture in the music scene, providing incredibly complex and energetic drumbeats that elicited wide praise and excitement from fellow musicians, critics and friends. On the rare occasion that he was not touring, Jerry did graphic design work for publications such as Chunklet and Entertainment Weekly. Throughout all of his endeavors and successes, Jerry remained one of the most humble and down-to-earth artists anyone could meet. His smile, and loving energy will be missed dearly, as will his talent and contributions to the music scene. Jerry's family and friends request that you respect their privacy during this difficult time. Statements from Jerry's band mates, manager and DFA Records are

When you think of bands that are at opposite ends of the spectrum Bad Religion and Tenacious D might well fit the bill, but sandwiched between these two acts is Brooks Wackerman who serves as drummer for both. The fact that Brooks drives the bus for both of these amazing bands should give you a good idea of the level that his group Kidneys is performing at. Featuring Brooks on vocals and guitar, Kidneys' live line up is rounded out by bassist John Spiker (Filter, Tenacious D) and Todd Hennig (Death By Stereo) giving the band an all-star line up that is a pleasure to experience in person. For the creation of the bands first full length studio album Brooks manned the instrument ship solo, but did receive a little help from friend Monique Powell (Save Ferris) on back ground vocals. The result is a well-rounded release that will impress even the most hard to please listener with a unique sound that falls somewhere between the clever melodies and arrangements of early Elvis Costello and the hard driving power pop of the Decendents.

Fall Out Boy vocalist Patrick Stump writes most of the music for his platinum-plus Chicago rock band, but he's also a closet R&B/soul fan who has produced tracks for fellow Windy City rapper Lupe Fiasco, and is a longtime fan of Daryl Hall's music, which makes him the perfect guest for the 25th and latest installment of Live From Daryl's House, available starting Nov. 15 at www.lfdh.com. "As a musician, I can't fathom a show more fun to play than Live From Daryl's House," says Stump about his experience playing with Daryl and his band, including T-Bone Wolk, on the web series."Patrick Stump is one soulful vocalist," says Daryl admiringly. "I was really impressed with his grasp of R&B and it turned out we shared a love for a great deal of the same music."

W.A.S.P. leader Blackie Lawless has never been afraid to speak his mind - and prod his loyal following while using thought-provoking imagery (both lyrically and on stage). And this is certainly apparent on the group's fourteenth studio album overall, Babylon. Due to the album's success overseas (charting high in almost every European country following its release on October 12th), the U.S. release of Babylon will occur much sooner than its originally-planned early 2010 release date, so that fans do not have to shell out extra money for the disc as an import. The CD will be available in the States in record stores on November 17th, with an official release date of December 8th. The album - for which work began in February of this year - saw Lawless take a good look in the mirror about not only himself, but also the current state of the world. "As the recordings progressed, I found myself once again asking the question - 'Who am I?', but more specifically 'Who am I now, and where am I in my life?'" explains Lawless. "You all know that I've said repeatedly that any art: be it movies, painting or music should reflect its maker's vision of themselves, and the world around them at that precise moment of their lives. If they are indeed truthful with that art, it then gives the viewer or listener a pretty good snapshot inside the head and heart of the one creating it." With the world in a state of flux due to a global financial meltdown, Lawless began doing some research, which led to the genesis of what became Babylon. "I went back and did a detailed study of the Book of Revelation and refreshed my memory with some pretty amazing reading. That reading inspires powerful images. Enough for me to take those images of the 6th chapter of Revelation and the four horsemen of the apocalypse and write "Babylon's Burning." "Babylon's Burning" is based on that imagery in the same way "Headless Children" was. It's an overview of what we allow ourselves to become and the consequences that befall us for the poor choices we make."

After falling in love with the hazy neo-soul and 60s revivalism of Rapture Ready, I Gazed At The Body, New York's own Team Love has partnered with Collect Records to deliver Midnight Masses' 4-track debut to the world this winter. The original release date of November 10th will now shift to December, with the digital version of the EP slated for 12/8 and the vinyl set for 12/15. The news comes on the heels of The Fader's premiere of "Walk on Water," the EP-opening slow-burn featuring TV on the Radio's Jaleel Bunton. Bunton's bandmate Gerard Smith produced the entirety of Rapture Ready, which also features contributions from Katie Eastburn, Here We Go Magic's Peter Hale, and Kevin Allen and Conrad Keely of Trail of Dead. In late 2008, Trail's Jason Reece founded Midnight Masses alongside Autry Fulbright, who enlisted the help of full-time bandmates Eric Rogers (guitar, vocals), Miyuki Furtado (drums, bass, guitar, vocals) and Destiny Montague (guitar, vocals, percussion). Midnight Masses were set to celebrate the now December-bound record's release this week with a pair of New York shows – one with intricate-indie Brooklynites Mon Khmer and another supporting Art Brut with Floridian buzz beneficiaries Surfer Blood.
