Aerosmith To Replace Steven Tyler?
antiMusic reports: Classic Rock posted a bombshell report on Wednesday about the future of Aerosmith. Could the band be parting ways with frontman Steven Tyler? Going by what members of the band, including Tyler himself, told Classic Rock it is looking more and more likely that it may happen.

Steven Tyler told Classic Rock, "I don't know what I'm doing yet, but it's definitely going to be something Steven Tyler: working on the brand of myself – Brand Tyler."

The magazine goes on to report that the members of the band "will reconvene (probably sans Tyler) to discuss future plans, which could be either the announcement of a long hiatus or even possibly include carrying on with a new lead vocalist."

While you may see that as reading too much into things, guitarist Brad Whitford discussed the possibility of bringing in a new singer with the magazine and he seems open to the idea, "if somebody was willing to do it and the chemistry was right, why not?". On the other hand, the magazine promised that "February's issue of Classic Rock will have a full story and a very, very special surprise for Aerosmith fans." - Read more of what Brad had to say and more here

Fans Ask AC/DC To Change Their Tunes
antiMusic reports: acdcfans.net has issued an open letter to AC/DC in hopes of getting the band to change their tunes. Here is the letter: acdcfans.net represents an extremely vocal group of your most loyal fans. Just a handful of us have collectively attended more than 157 of your concerts (and counting) since 1978 and estimate we've contributed more than USD$84,000 (and counting) to the AC/DC juggernaut. We are just the tip of the iceberg.

Now while those numbers may seem insignificant given your touring history and estimated wealth, for us the numbers represent a passionate investment of time and hard earned money in your music. We are AC/DC fans for life, and we wouldn't change that for the world.

However, there is something we'd like AC/DC to consider changing... The setlist. On the current Black Ice World Tour, during which some of us having travelled across Europe, the United States and flown between the two continents (with flights already booked to Australia to catch the Australian leg), we have listened to you play the same great songs each and every night. We absolutely appreciate every song you play, but we can't help but wonder if the band is getting a little bored of playing the same songs night after night. - more on this story

Jack White Turned Down Slash
Music Radar reports: With the speculation about special guests continuing in earnest, Slash revealed to MusicRadar that the one artist he couldn't pin down to play on his forthcoming solo album was The White Stripes/Raconteurs/Dead Weather star Jack White.

Slash's eponymous solo album will be released early in 2010 on Roadrunner, with Classic Rock magazine set to bundle the CD with a special collectible issue a full four weeks before it is available online or in record stores.

Slash told us: "I wanted to get Jack White to sing on something, but he didn't want to sing. He said I'll play drums, I'll play guitar, but I don't wanna sing. He was one guy that I wanted to work with. Pretty much everyone else that I went after I managed to get." - more on this story

Benji Madden's Taintstick Lose Sting Challenge But Jam With Ozzy Bandmate
PR reports: Taintstick, featuring Sirius XM Radio host Jason Ellis and Good Charlotte's Benji Madden, charted at #120 on the Billboard Top 200 this week with their debut album "6lbs of Sound". Taintstick's album outsold new albums from Carly Simon, Weird Al, and Devendra Banhart this week to make their musical presence felt.

"Number 120 on Billboard Top 200 baby! Boom! OK, so we're gonna just take a mulligan on the whole Sting holiday album challenge thing. Past-their-prime pop stars, Taintstick can handle, but when you add Wal-Mart Christmas-shopping impulse-buying grandmas to the has-been mix, well, that's a potent commercial cocktail. Kudos to Trans-Siberian Orchestra (#4) for handing Sting (#5) his sleigh bell and candy cane loving ass,," commented Cowfucker. "Luckily, Taintstick has disposed of the real enemy: Carly Simon (#134). Trying to see you, Carly, all the way down there, 14 big spots below us. But it's not working out for us. Weird Al (#178), we're sorry it had to come to this. Devendra Banhart (#139), hang your head in shame. Jesus man - even Carly Simon beat you. Just wait 'til everyone sees the sweet video we cooked up for 'Monkeys of War'! Viva La Taint!"

Taintstick are currently putting the final touches on their new video for "Monkeys of War", which is expected to surface in the coming weeks. For now video footage of Ozzy Osbourne bassist Blasko performing "Crazy Train" at Taintstick's sold-out CD release party at Wasted Space in Las Vegas, NV has been posted online

Cracker Headed To Iraq
PR reports: After seven months of successfully touring the U.S. and Europe in support of Sunrise In The Land Of Milk And Honey Cracker will embark on a very special tour of Iraq for U.S. [troops*] in November.

For safety reasons the promotor is unable to give specific dates/cities for this tour. Interestingly enough, the band won't even get their itineraries until arriving in Kuwait and Iraq. Freedom Radio in Baghdad (the only American radio station in Iraq) has already gotten behind Cracker with heavy spins from both their new record and extensive back-catalogue of hits.

As cofounder David Lowery explains of the tour, "After writing a red meat politically incorrect song in the slangy dialect of US serviceman in Iraq, it's no surprise that we were asked to walk the walk in addition to talking the talk. So be it. Yalla Yalla." - more on this story

Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell Tour Coming To DVD
Kayos reports: Released in October 1977, Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell went on to become one of the most iconic albums of the seventies, blending Rock 'N' Roll and theatrical flourish. Touring in support of this album, Meat Loaf appeared on Rockpalast in June of 1978. On November 10, Eagle Rock Entertainment, through its Eagle Vision subsidiary, will release this concert on DVD, when Bat Out Of Hell: The Original Tour hits stores.

Filmed at the Stadthalle Offenbach, Bat Out of Hell: The Original Tour captures the raw excitement of Meat Loaf's epic stage show. Larger-than-life songs like "You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night)" and "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" sounded absolutely extravagant performed live. Not only does Meat Loaf dominate the stage, but also he captivates audiences with the riveting nature of his songs, with the help of the album's songwriter Jim Steinman and female vocalist Karla DeVito. It's visual proof of the power of Bat Out Of Hell, which certified 10x Platinum and sold over 40 Million copies. Also included is a bonus interview from 1978 with Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman.

In addition to Bat Out Of Hell: The Original Tour, Eagle Rock will release two other Rockpalast DVDs in November, as performances from Thin Lizzy and UB40 will also hit the shelves.

Cloud Cult Reissues
PR reports: On December 8th, 2009 Cloud Cult will release a double-disc reissue of They Live on the Sun (2003) and Aurora Borealis (2004) – two of their earliest albums. These two home recorded releases have been re-envisioned, remixed and remastered for the first time by Cloud Cult's Craig Minowa and this special double-disc release will contain previously unreleased bonus tracks.

The albums, which are now out of print and could only be purchased at live gigs and select Independent record stores, will be available for the first time nationwide and fans can take advantage of a presale on the band's web site in late November – www.cloudcult.com.

Cloud Cult's lead singer/songwriter Craig Minowa created these albums during 18 months of seclusion at his Northern Minnesota organic farm after his two-year-old son passed away unexpectedly in 2002. Originally released on the band's own Earthology Records, they were mainly available on a local level due to a shoe-string credit card budget.
