Machine Head Change Up Tour Plans Due to Slayer Injury
PR reports: Due to circumstances beyond their control, regarding the current Slayer situation (they canceled their tour plans due to medical reasons, see story in today's Day in Rock) and the postponement of the Canadian Carnage dates, Machine Head will understandably not be doing the Canadian Carnage dates either.

Fortunately, MACHINE HEAD were able to reschedule their only United States headlining show at The Crazy Donkey in Long Island, NY. The show is now scheduled for Thursday November, 12th.

On November 14th, Machine Head will join up with Megadeth in Grand Rapids, MI, through December 3rd in Oklahoma City OK. Immediately after Machine Head will join up with Metallica in Las Vegas on December 5th, for the west coast leg of their tour ending with a triumphant hometown show for both bands at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA.

Manchester Orchestra To Shake It Out Online
PR reports: Columbia Records and Favorite Gentlemen are excited to announce the video premiere for Manchester Orchestra's second single, "Shake It Out," on MySpace. The premiere will last for 48 hours and begins on November 6 at 3pm EST. It can be seen here. The video is a brilliant homage to 1980's action films (tongue firmly planted in cheek).

The powerfully epic "Shake It Out," the second single from Manchester Orchestra's sophomore album, Mean Everything To Nothing, was just sent to Modern Rock radio and was met with great excitement. "I've Got Friends," the first single from Mean Everything To Nothing spent 26 weeks on the Billboard Modern Rock chart and reached the #8 spot at its peak. Alternative Press recently named the song as one of the top 100 songs of the decade.

Manchester Orchestra just finished hugely successful tours with Brand New as well as Silversun Pickups. They will be joining Brand New and Glassjaw for their very special hometown show at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY, on November 28th. They are off to Europe in November to open for Biffy Clyro and to do headline dates in Germany.

Next Performance Series Release From Neil Young Announced
PR reports: As part of its ongoing Archives Performance Series with legendary singer-songwriter Neil Young, Reprise Records will release Dreamin' Man Live '92, on December 8, 2009, on CD, while the vinyl pressing will be released on January 12, 2010.

The album is a complete live performance of Young's album Harvest Moon drawn from various solo acoustic shows he performed in 1992 before the actual release of the Harvest studio recording, which makes this performance even more unique.

Dreamin' Man Live '92 revisits Harvest Moon 17 years after its release by pulling together a series of intimate solo acoustic performances Young did at the time. The album was produced by Young and John Hanlon and recorded and mixed by Tim Mulligan.

Rockpalast Concerts From UB40 and Thin Lizzy Coming To DVD
Kayos reports: Like American Bandstand or Top Of The Pops, German Television's Rockpalast series has played a pivotal role in showcasing many classic bands. On November 10, Eagle Rock Entertainment will release phenomenal performances from Thin Lizzy and UB40 on DVD.

Paving the way for countless hard rock bands, Thin Lizzy is one of Ireland's most legendary exports. Led by the late Phil Lynott, and rounded out by guitarists Scott Gorham and Snowy White, keyboardist Darren Wharton, and drummer Brian Downey, this collective's use of heavy guitar licks and catchy sing-a-longs were a perfect fit for Rockpalast. They hit the stage in 1981, rousing the crowds with barroom anthems such as "Don't Believe A Word," "Jailbreak," and "The Boys Are Back In Town." This DVD, Are You Ready, follows another 2009 Thin Lizzy release, as VH1 Classic Records released the live CD Still Dangerous in March.

Getting their big break after being discovered by Chrissie Hynde, UB40 rose to become one of Britain's biggest bands. A blend of reggae and pop, Ub40 were a unique collective, composed of vocalists/guitarists Ali and Robin Campbell, bassist Earl Falconer, keyboardist Mickey Virtue, saxophonist Brian Travers, percussionist/vocalist/trumpet player Astro, and vocalist /percussionist/trombonist Norman Hassan. Following the release of their successful second album Present Arms (which received a #2 chart position), they performed on Rockpalast in July 1981 – the perfect time for their summertime jams. Food For Thought captures this performance, and is an ideal snapshot of the bands earlier years.

Burnhill Union Records Partner With E1
PR reports: Rock label, Burnhill Union Records, is proud to announce the completion of their deal with E1 Distribution to put out the records on their amazing roster. The Chicago-based label was started earlier this year by partners, Kym Affinito, Randy Kertz and Shaun Glass (ex-Soil, Current Dirge Within guitarist).

Burnhill Union Records has set a date for their premiere release, a self-titled effort by Jason 'Gong' Jones' AM Conspiracy – an album that hits stores nationwide on JANUARY 12, 2010. Further signings and releases will be announced in the coming months.

The combination of marketing experience, pure love for music and understanding of the process of making, releasing and promoting records from the inside-out is what makes Burnhill Union an effective artist-friendly label. "The thing with the music business changing as it has is that there are no rules anymore," says Kertz. "Someone who has vision and who has experience can combine forces with other people to get the music they like heard. That's what we're doing."

The Gilded Palace of Sin Set U.S. Release
PR reports: You Break Our Hearts, We'll Tear Yours Out is the debut album from England's dusty rock-noir band The Gilded Palace of Sin. This album is a true statement of intent and cinematic confidence and is being released by in the U.S. by Central Control January 19, the label helmed by former Magazine and Bad Seeds member, bassist Barry Adamson.

In The Gilded Palace of Sin the traditional band roles are thwarted and twisted into submission; Pete Phythian sings, plays guitar and does stuff with computers, Vini Taylor plays guitar, banjo, drums and sings, and Michelle Lock plays Theremin, glockenspiel, ukulele, jaw harp, music box and various percussion.

Think of the kind of house band that would play on HBO's Deadwood, The Fall, and John Ford's The Searchers to create the kind of Gothic desert mutiny that populates the Gilded Palace. Soon after witnessing their unique refrains, Adamson immediately offered to help them steer the good ship Gilded. - more on this story
