MusicRadar reports: In our weird and wacky Photo Of The Day, we give you Jane's Addiction, currently on tour with Nine Inch Nails and keeping it real in their own unique way - by using teleprompters on stage. Now, hey, if Bruce Springsteen wants to occasionally refer to the scrolling word, we can give The Boss a pass. After all, the man has something like 200 songs rehearsed for his current tour and plays shows that average three hours. Dem's a lotta lyrics to remember. But Jane's Addiction? In their brief career, they recorded four full albums (Jane's Addiction, Nothing's Shocking, Ritual de lo Habitual and Strays).

PR reports: In order to continue on their path of carnage, North Carolina's Wretched came to the conclusion that they needed something visually striking to hit the pulse of the metal community. They came up with a video concept that would be so heinous, gory and unsettling that it would make Lucio Fulci and Eli Roth cry themselves to sleep. With Director Scott Hansen at the helm, Wretched's "A Preservation of Immorality" outdid any preconceived notions and has proudly claimed the title of "The Bloodiest Music Video Ever." However, making the gruesome marriage of a horror film and music video come to fruition was not an easy task. The cast and crew were up for 30 hours straight, drenched the entire time and ruining a brand new bass guitar after being completely soaked in blood. After 72 hours of clean-up and days locked inside an editing room, WRETCHED is proud to unleash this horrific accomplishment at last. This video is not for the weak-stomached or the faint of heart, but, if you are up to the challenge, it can now be viewed at

MusicRadar reports: In the April 2009 issue of Entertainment Law & Finance, three partners in the Intellectual Property Group at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP have been musing over the Joe Satriani vs Coldplay copyright case. The US guitarist is suing Coldplay for infringing copyright, alleging the UK band's hit song Viva La Vida uses "substantial portions" of his own song If I Could Fly. While the legal debate is somewhat dry, the article in EL&F is interesting stuff. The lawyers at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP says that: "Within days of the suit's initiation, YouTube was inundated with postings in which fans freely offered their opinions concerning the merits of Satriani's claims (or absence there-of). Some of these submissions were supported by surprisingly detailed analyses of the works." While Satriani vs Coldplay may not go to trial for a variety of reasons, lawyers at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP think that YouTube analysis by fans and music teachers could well be used as evidence by either side in the case.

ABC reports: Tantric will be releasing their fourth album, Mind Control, July 21 on the Silent Majority Group label (through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group). It was produced by Brett Hestla (Creed, Framing Hanley, Dark New Day) and is the follow-up to 2008's The End Begins, which produced the Top Five Rock hit, "Down and Out." Tantric was formed from the ashes of Platinum acoustic rock band Days of the New. After scores of U.S. tours, multiple Rock hits including "Breakdown," "Mourning," "Astounded," "Hey Now," and "Down and Out," TANTRIC has grown into a mainstay at the Rock radio formats. While the band's recurrent tracks continue to enjoy plenty of radio play, their fourth album, MIND CONTROL, is being greeted by early listeners as their "heaviest and hookiest" work to date. The title trackthe album's first single--will surely become, yet again, another rock radio staple. A video will hit the TV and Internet airwaves in the next few weeks. In touring news, look for the band to launch a full-scale summer tour in July. Details are forthcoming.

conqueroo reports: Fantasy Records continues its massive Creedence Clearwater Revival reissue program with the May 26, 2009 release of Creedence Covers the Classics, a compilation of the band's best cover tracks, plus a fully remastered version of The Concert, the band's 1970 live album. Last year, marking Creedence's 40th anniversary, Fantasy re-released the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band's first six studio albums including rare never-before-released bonus tracks. Creedence Clearwater Revival had developed a vast arsenal of covers during a lengthy apprenticeship in the local Bay Area music scene (as Tommy Fogerty & the Blue Velvets and later as the Golliwogs) by the time they emerged on the national stage in 1968. As fans of the 1950s "Golden Age of Rock 'n' Roll," CCR hardly missed an opportunity to salute their musical heroes while making the songs their own. The Creedence Covers the Classics collection brings together for the first time these classic cover recordings. Included are renditions of Dale Hawkins' "Susie Q" (CCR's very first hit single), Little Richard's "Good Golly Miss Molly," Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," Ricky Nelson's "Hello Mary Lou," Leadbelly's "The Midnight Special" and "Cotton Fields," Roy Orbison's "Ooby Dooby," Ray Charles' "The Night Time Is the Right Time," Wilson Pickett's "Ninety-Nine and a Half," Bo Diddley's "Before You Accuse Me," Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup's "My Baby Left Me" (made a hit by Elvis Presley) and Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell On You."

PR reports: Frontiers Records proudly announces the release of Primal Fear's new studio album "16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You're Dead)" on May 22 in Europe and June 9 in the USA.Anticipated by a successful listening session held in Cologne, Germany, attended by the cream of the European Metal press, the new album is about to bring back Primal Fear to the throne of Heavy Metal. "16.6" is easily the most powerful, ambitious and interesting album in the band's history. The vibe of songs like the opening track "Riding The Eagle," "Killbound," or "Under The Radar" are reminiscent of the "Nuclear Fire" album but the whole album features all the trademarks of the Primal Fear sound - a the total dedication to pure metal. There is also a new approach mixed with the trademark PF riffs in tracks like "Six Times Dead (16.6)," "Soar," and "Smith & Wesson," as well as the epic stories, consummate musicianship, and fantastic melodies in songs like "Black Rain," "No Smoke Without Fire," "Torn," and the stylistically new ballad "Hands Of Time," with four band members all sharing the lead vocals.

antiMusic reports: Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today Andy Shauf tells us about "Crushes" from his brand new album "Darker Days" which hit stores yesterday. We now turn it over to Andy for the story:I wrote 'Crushes' in the fall of 2006. It's a pretty simple song about a girl that I had a crush on in high school. We would talk and I would turn red and she'd wonder what was wrong with me. She used to write me notes and that was pretty nice. I remember always thinking that she had feelings for me even though she never really gave any signs of it. When I write a song, I usually make a demo of it right away to get an idea of what I want the whole song to sound like. When I originally demo-ed this one, I put a harmony in that stayed with the lead vocal for the whole song. It was sort of high for me so when I went to the studio to record Darker Days I asked my friend Deb Hansen if she would like to sing on it, and she said yes! (which was nice of her, she has a very nice voice.) We recorded my main vocal and guitar at the same time (which is possibly why we never fixed the weird thing that happens between 'keep' and 'in' in the third verse). Then we put some hand claps, shakers, and tambourines in to give it rhythm and some oooo's and bah's to make it cheery. I played 'Crushes' at a show once and said that everyone should do the 'bah'-ing part and then some people started bah-ing like sheep...which was interesting. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album
