Oasis Blog Wars!!!!
MusicRadar reports: Looks like Noel and Liam Gallagher, Oasis' famous fighting brothers, are at it again. But instead of throwing punches, this time they're tapping on computer keyboards.

It all started the other day, when Noel, on tour with Oasis in South America, wrote in his official MySpace blog, "We speak at bad times for the Oasis tour. Bad times. We are a rudderless ship at the minute. And there's a f**kin' sh*tstorm on the horizon. I guess all will be revealed in due course." Continuing, the guitarist wrote, "Strange atmosphere. I wouldn't mind but we're in South America! Playing massive stadiums and there's a bit too much hrmph-ing going on for my liking. Shame really."
He said, he said

If Oasis are having 'bad times' and headed for a 'sh*tstorm,' it's news to vocalist Liam Gallagher, who responded to his brother's tirade on his Twitter page: "In Chile," he wrote. "Gem [Archer, guitar], Andy [Bell, bass] Chris [Sharrock, drums] and J [Jay Darlington, keyboards] treated the lads to an impromptu gig in the bar, AMAZING! Don't know what tour you're on RKID..." - more on this story

Slash Impressed With Idol
AP reports: Despite landing in the bottom three last week, "American Idol" front-runner Adam Lambert has found another fan: Slash.

The former Guns 'N Roses guitarist, who is serving as a mentor for this week's rock performances, wrote on his Twitter account Saturday that he thought the "Idol" finalists, especially Lambert, could sing their butts off.

The 43-year-old rocker also wrote that the remaining four singers picked "some really cool songs" for Tuesday's performances on the popular Fox singing competition. - more on this story

Original Wacken Festival Plans Get Nixed
antiMusic reports: Wacken Rocks festivals have announced a major change in plans. Not due to lack of interest which is killing other festivals but because of more interest than expected. Here is what the organizers had to say:

Due to the strong demand for tickets, the local authorities of Aurich have changed the legal requirements on short notice. As a result, both the festival ground and the camping area cannot be used as planned. For the reorganisation that has now become necessary, additional areas are needed - but are not available, since they are in agricultural use during May.

For this reason, the organisers are forced to postpone the Wacken Rocks Seaside in Aurich from May 21st to 23rd to August 28th to 30th. - more on this story

Indie Favs To Rock Free River Rocks Concert
PR reports: Three of the best established indie bands in the New York City music scene - two relatively newcomers, Matt & Kim and Yeasayer, and one perennial favorite Ted Leo & The Pharmacists -- are scheduled to headline the 11th annual RiverRocks music series of free outdoor concerts at Hudson River Park's Pier 54 this summer.

With the Hudson River and the setting sun as the backdrop of its Pier 54 stage (at 14th Street), RiverRocks kicks off its three-date series Thursday, July 9 featuring Brooklyn's Matt & Kim with the Chicago-based electronic team Flosstradamus opening the evening.

The iconic New Jersey-based rocker Ted Leo and The Pharmacists take the stage Thursday, July 23, marking the group's eight consecutive summer of performing free outdoor shows in New York City. Also on the bill are Brooklyn's dance-punk band Radio 4 and Extra Golden, the Kenyan-American Afro-indie rock group. - more on this story

This Is A Shakedown Release Debut
Kayos reports: On May 5, Cleveland-bred electro-rockers This Is A Shakedown! will release their debut studio album Love Kills on Reversed Image Unlimited. They recently released a music video for "Circles."

At first glance of "Circles," one might notice that the band is surrounded by the glow of laptops. The video was recorded via Apple Mac Book's Photo Booth - the same program most users utilize to dilapidate their face for their MySpace page. This has created a whole new kind of artistic expression, courtesy of THIS IS A SHAKEDOWN!

Filmed at Ante Up Audio in Cleveland, it took 21 borrowed Mac Books to create this masterpiece, which was directed and edited by Bryan Porter of Enigma Digital Media. The result is nothing short of stunning. However, due to the intense strobe effects, this video would unlikely be played on television (it comes with a warning for those with epilepsy or vertigo).

The Kingston Trio To Rock Acoustic Music Fest
conqueroo reports: The Kingston Trio, who famously transformed folk music from cult to pop status in the late '50s and early '60s, has joined the lineup for the first annual L.A. Acoustic Music Festival.

The event, featuring a world-class lineup of folk and Americana artists, makes its debut over the weekend of June 6–7, 2009 on the beautiful Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, Calif. The two-day celebration of acoustic music — which takes place during the Pier's 100th Anniversary year — benefits the California Acoustic Music Project (CAMP). Tickets and information can be found here or by calling (818) 621-8309.

Formed in San Francisco's North Beach club scene in 1957, the Kingston Trio were key in the genesis of the '60s folk revival. Their 1958 #1 hit "Tom Dooley" created a national audience. In the next for years, they recorded ten albums and at one time had four albums on Billboard's Top 10 album chart. Among the group's other hits were "Greenback Dollar," "Where Have All the Flowers Gone," "The Tijuana Jail," "A Worried Man" and "The Rev. Mr. Black." The Kingston Trio opened the door and paved the way for such icons as Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Tom Paxton, the Smothers Brothers, Peter, Paul & Mary and Jackson Browne. The Kingston Trio tradition lives on with the present lineup of George Grove, Bill Zorn and Rick Doughtery. They will perform Saturday, at 5 p.m.

. Lady Sovereign - Jigsaw
For many of the same exotic reasons American car commercials utilize English spokespersons, this tough, bite-sized rapper is simply charming. Charm and hip-hop are usually mutually exclusive terms, but Lady Sovereign is a rare exception. (3 stars) - Read the full Lady Sovereign - Jigsaw review

. Ironwood - :Fire:Water:Ash:
If you could somehow manage to outfit a mob of kangaroos with horned helmets and send them madly hopping en masse across the Outback they still wouldnt look very much like marauding Vikings. (4 stars) - Read the full Ironwood - :Fire:Water:Ash: review
