Blabbermouth reports: Former Ratt bassist Juan Croucier's Croucier Productions is selling the Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands) master tapes for the original version of Jake's solo record entitled "A Fine Pink Mist". According to Croucier, "These are one-of-a-kind, original studio record masters. You will own the masters (4) 2" 24 track analog tapes. Also included are two DAT tapes with rough mixes of the songs (for Juan and Jake), as well as track sheets for the songs. A must-have for any serious rock music collector. This is a very rare piece of rock music history. "Jake E. Lee went on to quickly re-record this record with another producer and studio. The other version of this record was released sometime in 1996 on Pony Canyon. This is the original version of his vision for the record. These tracks were methodically and painstakingly put together before he went over budget. He used over one hundred individual guitar effects peddles on this record some of which he built himself."

PR reports: Angra and Shaman's drummer Ricardo Confessori was recently working at Fusγo Studio in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with the gothic metal band Ravenland. Ricardo was responsible for the production of Ravenland's first album and also played drums on it. "We didn't know Confessori's work as a producer, but once he is very experienced with drums sounding and because we think that it represents a lot for the whole production of an album, we decided working with him. Afterwards, our previous drummer quit the band and Confessori told us that he could record the drums parts if we wanted. Of course we wanted!" said the euphoric vocalist, Camilla Raven, who also plays violins and keyboards. The band's debut, entitled "...And A Crow Brings Me Back", will be released soon and will feature 14 new tracks and two multimedia videos

PR reports: Jenny Owen Youngs is back with her second album, Transmitter Failure due May 26. This record is a bold departure from her 2007 release Batten The Hatches, which thrust Youngs into the spotlight (and won her a record deal with Nettwerk) when her song "F*ck Was I" was featured on the TV show "Weeds". The new record, produced by Dan Romer (Ingrid Michaelson, April Smith, The Woes) has a different musical take. Transmitter Failure is a gripping album featuring a lush aural landscape populated by gut-thumping bass lines, electric guitars, sunny keys, booming horns, digital drum tracks and even flute, glockenspiel and a full string section at times (borrowed straight from the pit of award-winning Broadway musical Spring Awakening). Where acoustic guitar was once a cornerstone of her previous work, the sonic core of Transmitter Failure is comprised of crunchy, multi-layered electrics.

Its cool to hate on anything related to metalcore, regardless of how tenuous the relationship is. It seems like Earthsblood has generally been well received by critics and less so by the fan ratings on sites. Im reviewing this as a critic, so its ok for me to like it! (4 stars)

When you have waited as long as we have for a new Burton record, its rewarding to be able to dive into a record of this depth. Beyond no filler material, every song is a winner and Burton has outdone himself in the performance department. (5 stars)
