Current Stars Cover Old Stars for Warner Anniversary
WBR reports: As part of an ongoing series of releases celebrating Warner Bros. Records' 50th anniversary, the label will release Covered: A Revolution In Sound — a truly eclectic compilation CD that features such contemporary WBR artists as The Used, Mastodon, The Black Keys, Against Me!, Missy Higgins, and James Otto performing new versions of classic songs associated with WBR artists over the past 50 years, including those by Madonna, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Joni Mitchell, Talking Heads, and Black Sabbath.

Each contemporary artist chose the song they wanted to interpret from Warner Bros. Records' illustrious back catalog. Doves Announce US Tour
PR reports: Doves announce a Spring US tour to support the release of their new album called Kingdom of Rust (released April 7 on Astralwerks/Heavenly). Kingdom of Rust is an album that is arguably Doves' most sonically adventurous, intimate, cerebral, rhythmic and most eclectic record to date.

Doves have been recording their follow up for the past 18 months, having ensconced themselves to a farm house-come-studio in Cheshire. In doing so they teamed up with long time Doves collaborator Dan Austin to co produce all but two tracks on Kingdom Of Rust.

For the remaining two tracks Doves enlisted producer John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead) to record 'Winter Hill' and '10.03'. Kingdom Of Rust was mixed by Michael Brauer, Dan Austin and the band. - more on this story

Anonymous Eulogies This April
PR reports: April 7th marks the release of Eulogies' new full-length album, Here Anonymous via LA-based Dangerbird Records.

Eulogies' songs struggle with broken-down communication, the weight of bad habits, the fear of being alone. That struggle is universal, and it's presented within the music with a directness that's both stark and beautiful. Written during a Fall 2007 U.S. tour with Film School, the songs on Here Anonymous are deceivingly simple. Riding warm, well-worn instrumental tones and Walker's patient, understated vocals, they build a consistent mood over the album's 12 songs.

Catch Eulogies live this month at SXSW followed by a short tour with DC's Middle Distance Runner! - more on this story

23RAINYDAYS Revisit Wonderful Disaster
PR reports: In advance of their March '09 kickoff of a very ambitious touring schedule, 23RAINYDAYS announces the release of "Wonderful Disaster - V2." The retooled and repackaged version of the original represents the DC-area band's streamlined lineup for 2009, as well as the resulting move to a more 'electronic' sound.

23RAINYDAYS will be touring extensively in support of the new record, as well as Radioactive Music's re-release of their first album, "From Today Until Forever."

Described by MacGregor as "the most ambitious touring schedule we've ever tackled," they've already arranged for a fourth jaunt to the West Coast and are also exploring the possibility of a trip to the UK. [would have been nice if their publicist would have added the actual dates to the release] - more on this story

Telepathe Hitting the Road For Dance Mother
PR reports: Telepathe's debut album, Dance Mother, is now being released on April 14th on IAMSOUND, and in support of this album they are playing a slew of upcoming shows.

They'll be heading down to Austin for SXSW, then hitting the east coast and midwest with Ladytron and The Faint. They'll return to New York on April 15th for a record release show at The Annex.

Melissa Livaudais and Busy Gangnes, the creative pairing at the heart of Telepathe, have further developed their layered, synthetic sound on this debut album. They combine killer melodies, trance-inducing loops, drum-machine driven experimentation, intensely personal lyrics and haunting vocal melodies to make a new sonic purity that gives themselves the confidence and stylistic singularity to transcend genres. Produced by TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek and featuring guest vocals by TV on the Radio's Kyp Malone and !!!'s Shannon Funchess, Telepathe's full-length debut is a stunning achievement presenting dark but forward-thinking hybrid pop music for the next generation. - more on this story
