ESM reports: The Used have announced the video premiere of their new song "Blood On My Hands." The special Band Cut will debut today exclusively on MySpace. "Blood On My Hands" is the first single off the Orem, Utah band's new album Artwork, which will be released on Reprise Records on September 1, 2009. The video, directed by Lisa Mann, was shot at Linda Vista Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, and is centered on the narrative of front man Bert McCracken's obsession with a serial killer in a small town. Intercut with performance, the twisting narrative follows Bert's increasing rage as he tracks the killer
or maybe a victim
and the line between hunter and hunted becomes blurred. Starting today, MySpace and TheUsed.net will be exclusively streaming the Band Cut of the "Blood On My Hands" video, which features extra scenes and is unwavering in its intensity. The song itself, which guitarist Quinn Allman describes as the song that "sums up everything about The Used," is confined chaos, brutally thrashing one moment and proffering a pop-driven, sing-along chorus the next. It premiered on iTunes June 30th and sold over 5k downloads in the first day and over 12k in the first week, the highest digital debut ever for the band.

Speak Easy reports: RevCo (p/k/a Revolting Cocks), the long-running side project from Al Jourgensen and a slew of collaborators over the outfit's twenty plus year history, will release a remix record titled Sex-O MiXXX-O on Sept. 29 via his own 13th Planet Records. Orchestrating the previously announced LubricaTour, RevCo's first North American headline run in twenty years, is the legendary master of the unceremonious Jim Rose, of The Jim Rose Circus fame, featuring Jim's cast of freaks and characters, revolving nightly. Previously announced support acts include Blownload and Left Spine Down. Jourgensen joins the RevCo circus as a special guest artist for the El Paso, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York dates only.

Filter reports: An expansive collection of modern mythology and lush orchestration, Sea Wolf's sophomore LP, White Water, White Bloom, was penned solely by Alex Brown Church, produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Monsters of Folk) and recorded with a full band (keyboardist Lisa Fendelander, bassist Ted Liscinski and drummer Joey Ficken). These new compositions were injected with a raw, dynamic energy that the band developed through extensive touring together and will be unveiled on a cross-country six-week tour beginning in September. White Water, White Bloom drops September 22 courtesy of Dangerbird Records. Upon completion of his touring cycle behind debut, Leaves In The River, lovestruck Church followed his muse to Montreal and began work on his second album. Set against the changing of seasons, the record unfolds like an epic poem over 10 tracks. Pulsing with evocations of nature at its most elemental, Sea Wolf's songs are filled with vivid imagery and a cinematic sense of movement.

PR reports: After touring with the Whigs and supporting and playing as the backing band for Little Joy across Europe and North America, The Dead Trees add a new string of tour dates with the Rosewood Thieves. With an arsenal of new material to road test before heading back into the studio to record a follow up to their debut LP King of Rosa.Matthew, Noah, Tad and Michael began work on what would become the Fort Music EP. They were longtime friends and had played around Boston in various configurations for years. Michael and Noah had recently played with local friends Drug Rug. When the boys gathered in Dec '06 to record some new songs of Michael's, there were no grand plans to see through or deadlines to meet. They had an engineer friend and a couple hundred bucks and some notions about maybe making some back to basics rock and roll. Luckily for everyone, that approach seemed to work just fine, and after two weeks in an Allston, MA basement they had Fort Music all wrapped up and, more importantly, were most definitely a band. Fort Music EP was widely supported throughout the Coalition Of Independent Music Stores in spring, 2008.
