SleazeRoxx reports: Fans of metal mockers Spinal Tap will be thrilled to hear the band members visited the ancient site of Stonehenge recently after performing at Britain's Glastonbury music festival. News of the surreal visit comes courtesy of Canadian band Metric. Singer Emily Haines posted news and photos of the art-meets-life-meets-art happening on Metric's blog. In the 1984 mockumentary, This is Spinal Tap, band members -- played by actors Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer and Michael McKean -- create a bizarre tribute to Stonehenge in their act, complete with a tiny reproduction of the prehistoric site along with dancing dwarves.

Earache reports: British thrashers Evile have released a brand new track, called "Infected Nation", which is available now for streaming and download.Evile lead guitarist Ol Drake comments: "Finally, we can show you a track off the upcoming album 'Infected Nations', funnily enough the first track being 'Infected Nation'. It's been very hard to pick out just ONE track to initially show the world, as there is such diversity on this album and I wanted to showcase the different direction we're going in. I think 'Infected Nation' is a good place to start in showing you, as it still has the pure thrash feel to it but with an injection of our new path musically. "Please do the production justice; download it and play it on some good speakers, not some shitty PC ones (although granted you can't get much out of an MP3 - the CD will blow it away).

Rock Ridge reports: In celebration of the bands 20th year in the music business, Eugene, Oregon's horn-heavy, genre-bending, multi-platinum-selling Cherry Poppin' Daddies are giving store shelves a double shot of musical goodness in September: both "Susquehanna" and "Skaboy JFK: the Skankin' hits of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies" are scheduled for release on September 29, 2009, on Rock Ridge Music/Space Age Bachelor Pad Records. "Susquehanna" will finally receive its national release, as it was previously only available on the band's website, while "Skaboy JFK" is a compilation of new ska tracks with older Cherry Poppin' Daddies ska songs (some of which have been re-recorded) in a collection that comes off like a classic of the genre. Says CPD band leader Steve Perry: "We are excited to be working with Rock Ridge Music on the release of 'Skaboy JFK,' because we have had a previous successful working relationship with their CEO Tom Derr, while we were both at Universal Records. Rock Ridge has done a great job promoting and distributing Reel Big Fish records (our ex label mates) and this record is directed at some of the same markets, so it's a perfect fit for us. We also made a deal to have Rock Ridge distribute and promote our 2008 recording, 'Susquehanna,' which had previously not received distribution outside of our web site. This is our coming-out party after a bit of a self-imposed hiatus, and we are happy to be with a company with such great industry bona fides."

Rock Reader reports: Ryan Adams has never suffered a creative shortage, turning out music in an array styles in rapid succession over the past decade and a half. First as the alt-country tunesmith and driving force behind Whiskeytown and since 2000 as the workaholic songwriting genius who never met a subgenre he couldn't conquer, Adams is a driven performer and musical craftsman with an intensely loyal following and a savvy approach with the media. A new book 'From Whiskeytown To Cardinology: Ryan Adams In Print' exhibits that savoir faire while collecting the Jacksonville, North Carolina native's most important and revelatory interviews to date. Edited by music blogger Jimmy Jupiter the man behind the recently acclaimed Rock Reader Books title 'Death Cab for Cutie: In Print' 'From Whiskeytown to Cardinology' is a must-read for all of Adams' dedicated fans. Available now for immediate preview and purchase through Rock Reader Books or to Amazon's Kindle users, the book is expected to reach online and brick and mortar retailers by late August.

MMP reports: Theatre Of Tragedy is truly a phenomenon. Their first three releases became legendary on the doom/gothic/death metal scene, while the next two introduced a completely different musical style, bringing the group closer to industrial and electropop rather than traditional metal. Today Metal Mind Productions presents the exclusive re-releases of those two controversial albums by Theatre of Tragedy - "Musique" and "Assembly".Metal Mind Productions will rerelease "Musique" and "Assembly" on 27th July in Europe and 8th September in USA (via MVD). Both titles are digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on a golden disc and include bonus tracks. New digipak editions are limited to numbered 2000 copies. "Musique" was the first offering to take Theatre of Tragedy into a new direction and this exclusive re-release brings back one of the band's most revolutionary steps ever
In the year 2000 Theatre of Tragedy decided to part ways with their past and reach towards the future by completely changing their musical direction. Released through Nuclear Blast on October 2nd, the group's fourth LP, "Musique", brought a brave mixture of industrial, electropop and gothic rock. The band left their early gothic/death metal inspirations and introduced a fresh new sound, focusing on upbeat, electro-based tracks. This rather controversial style change was difficult to accept by many fans of Theatre of Tragedy's previous albums, but eventually the new formula proved to be more than convincing.

PR reports: Sean Walsh and the National Reserve are an American indie-rock band. Steeped in the traditions of country, honky tonk, motown and classic rock 'n' roll, their debut full length--Homesick--is a catalog of heartbreak, highways, and the lonesome human condition. Homesick will be released July 14th on the band's own label, Lover's Dream Records.Written over the course of one month in Northern Ontario, Homesick was recorded at three locations in New York: Headgear Studios and Monster Land in Brooklyn, and Buddy Project in Queens. Co-produced and engineered by Kyle "Slick" Johnson (Modest Mouse, The Hives, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Fischer Spooner, Rogue Wave), Homesick also features vocal contributions from Michelle Casillas of Ursa Minor. Sean Walsh is a busy frontman. After touring in support of his 2006 solo EP--American Music, released on Eyeball Records--and playing drums for a friend, singer/songwriter Essie Jain--Walsh found time to form a band: The National Reserve. Since recording Homesick they've toured the East Coast, Midwest and Canada--playing with bands like Dr. Dog, Vampire Weekend, Vandaveer, Laura Burhenns, and Hymns.
