PR reports: Aware/Columbia Records artist Mat Kearney has just announced that he will join Keane on their U.S. tour in May, hitting major markets including Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago and New York. Full tour dates can be found below. Additionally, the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter is set to release his new album, City of Black & White, on May 19 on Aware/Columbia Records. After spending five years traveling the country establishing himself as a new artist, Mat dug his roots into his new hometown of Nashville, TN, allowing the songs on City of Black & White to evolve from various places and sources in the back room of a studio where he stopped in to visit a friend, writing with people he met at coffee shops, hearing someone fiddling around with the guitar and humming along. He opened up the writing process to friends and to the community of musicians in Nashville, and crafted songs such as "Fire and Rain," "Here We Go," and "Closer To Love," the first single off of City of Black & White.

PR reports: Italian producer and polymath Bob Rifo, a.k.a. The Bloody Beetroots, is getting ready to take his traveling party on the road for its first US tour. As usual he will be joined by his onstage partner Tommy Tea. The mysterious, masked-wearing duo will no doubt incite an all night dance floor riot every stop along the way with their clever, genre-bending aesthetics. Rifo has a packed schedule, including several guest star collaborations, leading up to the release of his project's highly-anticipated debut album this summer via Dim Mak Records. On the horizon is the new single "WARP 1.9," due March 24th. In addition to the hard-hitting dancefloor bangers he is best known for, Rifo's influences range from classical, Stravinsky-esque soundscapes to the grit of Britain's punk rock and Oi! Movements as evident by his two EP's, Cornelius and Rombo.

Given the talent involved (four fifths of the original Eyehategod lineup as well as a bassist who has served time in Goatwhore and Crowbar) this should be a winner. Instead, this delivers short blasts of largely unmemorable and insipid sludge.
