Steven Adler Arrested
Blabbermouth reports: Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler was arrested on Monday, January 26 and charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance — a misdemeanor. He was released the same day at 10:50 a.m. on $50,527 bail. No court date has been set.

Steven's representatives tell an online tabloid that Adler was **NOT** under the influence of drugs at the time of his arrest. Adler — who was busted last July for possession of narcotics, being under the influence and for an outstanding warrant, and was ordered by the court to stay at the Pasadena Recovery Center — was arrested this past Monday because he hadn't finished his community service in the time frame given by the judge.

The representatives say Adler went to register as a drug offender — also court-ordered — on January 26, when cops acted on the arrest warrant stemming from the unfinished community service. He was charged with "being under the influence of a controlled substance" because that was the original charge from his July arrest. -

Van Halen Plan New Music
headbangernyc.com reports: Eddie Van Halen hopes to release new music with the current incarnation of the legendary band that bears his name. And, as he tells Spinner.com, yes, that includes David Lee Roth.

"Dave, Wolfie, Alex and I are a band," he tells Spinner.com in an interview. "I hope that after Janie and I get married, and Wolfie graduates, that we sit down and discuss recording new music, which I have tons of.

"If Dave's up for singing ... then do another tour, and just see where it takes us. Actually, next week or the week after Wolfie, Alex, and I are gonna start jamming. Maybe we'll give Dave a call and see what he's up to. He's off, always doing his own thing, and he checks in every now and then to see how we're doing." -

Punk Legend Dies
Reuters reports: Cramps frontman Lux Interior died Wednesday at a Glendale, Calif., hospital as the result of a pre-existing heart condition, the band's publicist confirmed to Billboard. He was 52.

The Cramps formed in 1976 and were part of the now legendary downtown New York punk scene. Their lineup shifted over the years but always included Lux and his wife, Poison Ivy.

The band's rockabilly-infused punk has been credited as an influence by bands including the White Stripes and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. - more on this story

Nikki Sixx Spits On Female Fan
Metal Sludge reports: Motley Crue bassist recently had a hissy fit on stage when someone threw a bottle of water at him. Nikki got hardcore with the fan, who turned out to be a girl.

Nikki spits into the crowd and then tells her to suck his dick. After he calls her a bitch and tells her to get the fuck outta here, she then starts to cry.

Oddly enough, it's the same water bottle he threw into the crowd only seconds earlier. Check out the video. You can clearly hear the verbal assault and see him spit into the crowd at the 1:55 mark of the clip. - more on this story

Band Sues President
Yahoo Music reports: MGMT are suing French President Nicolas Sarkozy--accusing him of using their hit "Kids" in online videos without permission.

Sarkozy has admitted using the song at the UMP party's national congress, but claims the lack of permission was a mistake and offered the band one euro as a gesture, reports BBC News.

The duo rejected the offer and are now seeking compensation. Their lawyer, Isabelle Wekstein, said a fee of 53 Euros ($90) had initially been paid to gain use of the song was not enough. -
