The Used have announced a US headlining winter tour. The nationwide string of dates, which kick off January 27th in San Diego, CA and run through February 26th in Birmingham, AL, will support their new album, Artwork. Atreyu and Drive A will be supporting. Critical acclaim for the Matt Squire-produced Artwork is effusive. Outburn (which the band recently graced the cover of) praises its "humbling ability to sound scrappy and raw while being perfectly polished and huge," while Alternative Press states "The Used have delivered not only the definitive album of their career but arguably one of the best records you'll hear in 2009. 4 ½ stars." The band's legions of fans are responding as well. The Used performed to a sold-out crowd on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and the first single, "Blood On My Hands" premiered on iTunes with over 5k downloads in the first day, the highest digital debut in the band's history. The video for the song debuted on MySpace and shot directly to the #1 spot, with 200,000 views in the first 24 hours. The Used recently released the music video for their international single "Empty With You," directed by Nate Weaver.

Swedish melodic death metal pioneers Dark Tranquillity triumphantly return with We Are The Void, a scorching effort that will undoubtedly add an exhilarating new chapter to the genre's storied history. The album was mixed by the acclaimed Tue Madsen (Himsa, The Haunted) and encompasses all of the elements on which the band built their reputation: thought-provoking lyrics, shredding guitar work, captivating melodies and sheer brutality. This offering is perhaps best compared to a modern-day version of the group's revered classics The Gallery and The Mind's I, only with more intensity behind it. The blueprint of melodic metal is now at your fingertips. We Are The Void is set for a March 9th North American release and the band are extremely proud to kick off this massive worldwide album touring cycle in the U.S. on Feb. 4th with the mighty Killswitch Engage and The Devil Wears Prada. Head over now to the band's newly revamped MySpace page (www.myspace.com/dtofficial) to stream the blistering new track, "Dream Oblivion" and to view their entire tour itinerary. Mikael Stanne (vocals) further describes his excitement over the upcoming tour: "We are really excited to announce the fact that we are going back to the states. The (insert tour name) with Killswitch Engage and The Devil Wears Prada will be the perfect way to kick off this new album of ours. We are looking forward to premiering the new material in front of the many new and uninitiated, as well as our devoted and awesome fans. This will be the start of a long string of tours that we will be doing for this album. We feel that these new songs are some of the strongest material that we've ever written and we are dying to tour the hell out this album! See you in the front row."

The Goat & the Occasional Others is a Los Angeles-based garage band which formed in 2007 by two skateboarders with too much time on their hands and too much creative energy to keep bottled up. Andrew Reynolds (guitar) and Shane Heyl (vox) were quickly joined by their good friends and fellow professional skateboarders Kevin "Spanky" Long (guitar) and Beagle Oneism (drums) to create the Goat's first record, a vinyl 10" self-titled EP released in 2008 as a promotional item in very limited quantities by Altamont Apparel Ltd., Reynolds' Los Angeles-based skateboard clothing company featuring the band logo and cover artwork designed by the notorious graffiti writer NECKFACE. Soon after this first release, The Goat added award-winning skateboard photographer Atiba Jefferson on keyboards to complete the line up. Through this much sought after release and some energetic and intense early live shows, The Goat quickly established a cult following amongst everyone from their fellow professional skateboarders like Eric Koston and Guy Mariano, to plus-sized porn model Crystal Clear and movie actor Ryan Gosling. Gosling, a musician himself in the band Dead Man's Bones, introduced the band to the label Werewolf Heart Records (Gosling's label with fellow Dead Man Zach Shields and record producer/ Ima Robot band member Tim Anderson) in Los Angeles, for whom The Goat just finished recording their first full length entitled The Goat Speaks to be released February 9th, 2010.
