The Who And Teenage Cancer Trust Launch 'Who Cares'
The Who.com and Teenage Cancer Trust are very excited to announce Who Cares, a brand new fundraising initiative for fans of The Who. Roger Daltrey has been a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust for over 10 years and, with his Pete Townshend at his side, giving his full support, has helped raise millions of pounds for the charity. Now Roger and Pete are encouraging all their fans to get behind Teenage Cancer Trust by signing up for WHO CARES.

Talking about the charity, Roger said: "At a time when your body is changing, your social life is everything and you're still trying to figure out who you are, getting cancer can seem like an impossible blow to take. But thanks to Teenage Cancer Trust, thousands of teenagers are taking it, and coming out fighting.

"I hope that our fans will really get behind Who Cares and do their bit to make a difference to young people living with cancer. Your support will help Teenage Cancer Trust to build enough specialist units so that by 2012 every single teenager will be treated on one, giving them the very best chance of a positive outcome. Let's show them Who Cares!" - more details here

Testament Discuss Upcoming Slayer and Megadeth Tour
Testament guitarist Eric Peterson recently spoke with Metal Sucks about this upcoming American Carnage tour with Slayer and Megadeth among other topics. Here is a small part of the discussion about the trash heavy tour.

MetalSucks: Is it a point of pride for Testament to be part of this tour? This isn't some old-timers' nostalgia circuit, rather three vital bands all coming off monster albums.

Eric: Oh, totally! This isn't some reunion thing. This is old school music but f**king totally up-to-par. I don't know any newer bands that kick ass that could put together a package as vital as this. [You don't think] 'Oh okay. They have their greatest hits and their old shit is cool.' No, every band on this bill – from us to Megadeth to Slayer – not only is our old shit classic and not only did we all shape and form the blueprints to thrash metal in some way or form – Megadeth and Slayer being more at the forefront than us, though we definitely have our chops – it's like … right on the head. Boom.

MetalSucks: This tour can almost be looked at as an act of charity. So many people weren't old enough or maybe not in the right city to experience the thrash metal explosion.

Eric: Yeah. I think each band is better in a weird way. Even though we've all always been heavy, it just seems like everybody's really heavy now. We've gone full circle and all sound like our first three records. - Read the full interview at MetalSucks

DVD Alert: Historic T.A.M.I. Show Featuring Rolling Stones, James Brown, Chuck Berry, the Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, the Supremes
One of the rarest rock events ever captured on film, the 1964 concert known as The T.A.M.I. Show, featuring performances by future Rock and Roll Hall of Famers the Rolling Stones, James Brown, Chuck Berry, the Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, the Supremes, and many others, will be officially released for the first time by Shout! Factory on March 23. The T.A.M.I. Show: Collector's Edition includes exciting new bonus features including new commentary by director Steve Binder, original T.A.M.I Show radio spots, and a 20-page booklet with liner notes and rare photos and memorabilia.

The T.A.M.I. Show was filmed live at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in 1964, a mere seven months after the Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show and introduced the Swinging '60s to America. This legendary film has never been available on DVD and hasn't been seen in its entirety since it originally appeared in theaters, including its "world premiere" at 33 Los Angeles area theaters on November 14, 1964. Mastered from a new High-Definition transfer and restored to its original length, this complete version features the Beach Boys performances that were removed shortly after the film's initial theatrical run.

The T.A.M.I. Show is the first concert movie of the rock era, capturing such superstars as the Rolling Stones (with the late Brian Jones), James Brown, Chuck Berry, the Beach Boys, the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, the Miracles (featuring Smokey Robinson), and many other Motown and British Invasion acts in their early prime. Aside from the five rock groups, all the performers are backed by a band that we've now come to know as "the Wrecking Crew," famed for playing on all the Phil Spector-produced hits, and included future stars Glen Campbell and Leon Russell among others. Fanita James, Jean King, and future solo star Darlene Love, billed as The Blossoms, provide backing vocals.
