AP reports: Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler has a broken shoulder and stitches in his head after falling from the stage during a South Dakota concert, and the band plans to discuss what that means for the future of its current tour, guitarist Joe Perry said Friday.
Perry told The Associated Press after a stop at a Chicago radio station that Tyler has been flown to Boston and was meeting with his own doctor. Perry did not have further details on Tyler's condition and calls to representatives went unanswered Friday.
Tyler, 61, fell several feet while dancing around as the sound crew replaced a fuse that blew during the song "Love in an Elevator" at the Buffalo Chip Campground, which hosted the Wednesday night concert during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota. An amateur video showed him spinning around before falling off the stage.
FMQB reports: The reunited Creed made their return Thursday night (August 6) in Pittsburgh, with their first gig since January of 2003.
Rolling Stone reports that the rockers stuck to their hits, debuting one new song, the upcoming single "Overcome" from their impending new record Full Circle.
Speaking to Rolling Stone backstage, frontman Scott Stapp said that Full Circle (due out in October) is "finished. We worked with Howard Benson [Daughtry, My Chemical Romance], and Chris Lord-Alge [Green Day] is going to mix the record."

I don't know how I'm supposed to wait until next year to put out this record! It is so fucking cool & I am so anxious to get it out already. We start mixing soon and that will be that, ready to go. But, I have to wait, there's no way around it, for all kinds of logistic reasons and that's the reality.
But, my VR band-mates and I had a meeting a couple of weeks ago and although the search for a singer will continue, I am going to tour on my solo record most likely through next summer starting in March or April. We (VR) will keep the word of mouth system going and listening to submissions from singers and checking out different singer's sites etc, we know the right guy is out there somewhere. It's possible somebody could turn up before I do my tour and we could start working on new material sooner than later, in a perfect world.
Rock Radio reports: Megadeth's Dave Mustaine has insisted his claim about Metallica planning to sack drummer Lars Ulrich in 1986 is true - and that, despite their denials, Anthrax did tell him the story.
Last week Mustaine told RollingStone.com that James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett planned to replace Ulrich at the end of the tour during which bassist Cliff Burton died. He said Scott Ian of Anthrax had told him so: "That's what Scott told me. He said when Metallica got home, James, Cliff and Kirk were going to fire Lars."
Anthrax later commented via their Twitter account, saying: "Not true. Little does anyone know but Lars actually owns the Metallica name. Good luck with ever kicking him out." Now Classic Rock Magazine has spoken to the Megadether again, who stands by what he said, and explains he was trying to help plug Ian's book. Mustaine says: "It was something Scott told me. I was trying to help him promote his autobiography. I love Scott and would never do anything to hurt him - never. But it's what he told me, and other people have heard it too." Blabbermouth reports: Def Leppard's Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11 performances in Nashville and Birmingham, respectively, have been postponed due to the circumstances surrounding a band member's bereavement.
No further specifics concerning the matter have been released. Ticket holders are asked to hold their tickets, pending further details of the concerts' rescheduling.
"We were looking forward to returning to Nashville and Birmingham," said the band in a joint statement. "So we're going to do all that we can to get back there soon."

AP reports: Hundreds of Beatles fans swarmed Abbey Road on Saturday, singing songs and snarling traffic to mark 40 years since John, Paul, George and Ringo strode across the leafy north London street and into the history books on iconic pop photos.
The famous photo graced the cover of the Fab Four's "Abbey Road," the last album recorded together, and shows the bandmates walking purposefully across the zebra-striped asphalt.
It remains one of music's best-known album covers, endlessly imitated and parodied. Although the shoot itself only took a few minutes, so carefully studied was the cover for signs and symbolism that some die-hard fans came to the conclusion that Paul McCartney who appears barefoot and out of step with the rest had secretly died.
CBC reports: A security breach at Thursday night's AC/DC concert in Moncton allowed several hundred fans to see the legendary Australian rock band for free.
RCMP officers at the concert estimated several hundred people were trying to climb over the fence to get into the show without purchasing a ticket. AC/DC was almost an hour into their set, and thousands of fans were still outside the Magnetic Hill outdoor concert site in a huge line trying to buy tickets.
As police and concert organizers saw the fence jumping as a safety hazard, security guards eventually stepped away from the ticket gate, and the few hundred people left in the queue got into the concert late but for free.

To celebrate the release we asked vocalist Mitch Lyon and guitarist/vocalist Barry Johnston to give us the inside story to the first single from the effort, "Killing Pill". Here they are with the story!
Mitch Lyon "Barry introduced me to a riff he was working. We sat down and wrote the first verse and chorus right then. We then recorded what we had. This was before any of the other guys had even heard the song. It seemed to come together really quickly and felt really fresh to us."
Barry Johnston "When the initial idea for the song struck it sort of took over and wrote itself. We wanted to do something pretty stripped down and to the point. The first drafts of the song were pretty true to what ended up being on the record. We did change the intro and outro guitar parts quite a bit from the demos. Those parts didn't really take shape until we entered the studio. We just needed a time to figure out the little nuances. The bridge was actually written with James Alex Snyder from the band Cordova also formerly of Weston. We asked him to do a cameo recording schedules conflicted so we had to cut the vocals for the bridge ourselves. All in all we were really in a good place in the writing process when we finished this one. I think it shows"
Mitch Lyon "Killing Pill, to me, is not necessarily about the habits of recreational users. For me, it's about the rush of whatever gets you there. It's a sadness, a letdown, for whatever is kicking you. It's about an escapist's reality and how escaping does not work forever."
Barry Johnston "I think this song could mean different things to different people. We all have difficulties and how we deal with those difficulties ultimately speaks volumes about who you are at the core. I'm more interested and more drawn to real people that make mistakes. Squeaky clean people are a little unnerving to me for some reason. All of the glitz and glamour that some people surround themselves with isn't reality. We wanted to try and to encompass some of that idea in the song."
