Courtney Love Going To War Over Cobain's Cash
E! reports: Courtney Love's apparently in one heck of a financial hole, and that has her fighting mad. Her lawyer tells E! News that the "Doll Parts" purveyor is preparing to file a lawsuit "in the next 30 days" on behalf of herself and daughter Frances Bean Cobain against a slew of unspecified parties she claims "looted" millions of dollars from late husband Kurt Cobain's estate.

"Courtney's main interest is ensuring that her daughter gets the assets back that were stolen," says San Diego attorney Rhonda Holmes.

"Courtney is pursuing her rights on the criminal end against the people who stole, and her daughter and Kurt's estate are focusing on the financial aspect."

Plaintiffs will also include Cobain's mother, brother and two sisters, says Holmes. - The conspiracy plot deepens here

Buzznet reports: Pop-punkers Blink-182 are planning to take Weezer on the road as their main supporting act when they hit the concert circuit this summer, an informed source has revealed to Buzznet.

Though the tour schedule has not been made public, the pairing of two hugely creative (and funny) bands is likely to make their tour one of the must-see events of the year.

Of course, Blink fans have been on cloud nine since the band re-united on the Grammy Awards and announced they would not only tour but release new music. - more on this story

The Beatles Catalog Gets Remastered Plus Rock Band Game Release Set
PR reports: Apple Corps Ltd. and EMI Music are delighted to announce the release of the original Beatles catalogue, which has been digitally re-mastered for the first time, for worldwide CD release on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 (9-9-09), the same date as the release of the widely anticipated "The Beatles: Rock Band" video game.

Each of the CDs is packaged with replicated original UK album art, including expanded booklets containing original and newly written liner notes and rare photos. For a limited period, each CD will also be embedded with a brief documentary film about the album. On the same date, two new Beatles boxed CD collections will also be released.

The albums have been re-mastered by a dedicated team of engineers at EMI's Abbey Road Studios in London over a four year period utilising state of the art recording technology alongside vintage studio equipment, carefully maintaining the authenticity and integrity of the original analogue recordings. The result of this painstaking process is the highest fidelity the catalogue has seen since its original release. - a LOT more info

John Lennon Classic Gets Tween Poptart Makeover from Miley and Hannah Costar
Jam! reports: Teen popstar Miley Cyrus has recorded a cover version of John Lennon's classic Imagine. The 16-year-old hit the studio for a duet with her Hannah Montana: The Movie co-star Emily Osment after the pair bonded on the set of the film, through their love of the late Beatles legend.

Cyrus tells Moviefone.com, "I'm just a huge John Lennon fan. I studied him in school, and just watched the movie Chapter 27 (which depicts his murder)." [Is there anyone she isn't a huge fan of? Click the full story link for the answer to that.]

"We (Cyrus and Emily Osment) did a duet of Imagine, in the studio." [as apposed to a karaoke bar? Her bathroom?] - more on this story

Metal Band Lose Singer and Badmouth Van Halen
Lambgoat reports: German metal band The Ocean and vocalist Mike Pilat have gone their separate ways. Guitarist Robin Staps has issued the following statement:

"Being in a band is the constant struggle to reach the one, the final, the ultimate line-up. The right people, the right musicians. The line-up that clicks, where the music that is created on stage is somehow greater than the sum of each individual's output. Once a band has reached that line-up, it is flirting with divinity, it has the chance to be larger than life, to touch majesty.

"Any lineup is usually a very fragile constellation, and essentially a ticking time-bomb. 5 passionate people's egos, their respective ideas, preferences, defects, habits, characters, the insecurities of their lives, all these are dangerous threats to the existence and future of a band. Struggle is an integral part of any band's existence. As my friend Mitch pointed out recently, Van Halen were only a decent band with David Lee Roth in the band, but everybody hated him. - he continues here

Flipper Carry On Without Krist Novoselic
PR reports: Flipper, the seminal punk and original grunge band from San Francisco, simply refuses to die. Despite death, debilitating injury, and departures of former members, the band plays on.

The two new albums are being released on May 19th. Jack Endino co-produced both albums. The studio offering is entitled Love and the live album is called Fight.

The most recent set back was the departure of Krist Novoselic, who joined the band in December of 2006 for a tour of the UK. At that time, he replaced Bruno DeSmartass who left the band a few months earlier. Novoselic spent about two years with Flipper, playing shows and recording an album of new material as well as a live album. He ultimately gave notice, after deciding the tour grind was no longer in the cards for him.

Manchester Orchestra Got Myspace Video Friends
Sony reports: Manchester Orchestra and Favorite Gentlemen/Canvasback music are proud to present "I've Got Friends" the third chapter of their video series today on MySpace.

The full-album series concept was conceived by the Emmy Award winning directing team of Clay Lipsky and Jason Bognacki of Destroy Rock Music Inc., whom also directed "I Can Barely Breathe" from the band's debut I'm Like a Virgin Losing a Child.

Lipsky notes that the vision behind the videos are to "create a cinematic collage of decaying film and lost memories intertwined with a loose narrative about a young woman on a surreal journey to find what she is missing." The videos to follow will continue to discover the many layers hiding within the new record.

Meat Puppets Release Party
Megaforce reports: The legendary Meat Puppets have signed to Megaforce Records and will release their new album Sewn Together on May 12, 2009. Meat Puppets will do a special album release show at The Mint in Los Angeles on May 12.

The band recently debuted new songs from the album at SXSW at Stubbs on March 19, 2009. Recorded at The Saltmine in Phoenix, Arizona in winter 2009, the album features the Kirkwood brothers, Cris and Curt, with drummer Ted Marcus.

The highly influential Meat Puppets started as a punk rock band, but established their own unique style, blending punk with country and psychedelic rock. The Meat Puppets later gained significant exposure when the Kirkwood brothers served as guest musicians on Nirvana's MTV Unplugged performance in 1993. The band's subsequent album Too High to Die went gold, selling over 500,000 albums, and became their most successful release. The band reunited in 2006.
