Prosthetic Records reports: All That Remains have posted another song, "Two Weeks," from the band's forthcoming album, 'Overcome,' on the band's MySpace page. "This is the first time I've done a song that has singing from beginning to end," frontman Phil Labonte says. "It was something I had wanted to do for some time but ATR isn't gonna put out something half-assed and most of you guys know I'm always growing as a vocalist and we're always growing and changing as a metal band. This feels right and it's not the same 'here's our all singing ballad' kind of thing; it's still metal as hell!" 'Overcome' hits stores Sept. 16 through Prosthetic Records, and "Two Weeks" is scheduled to receive the video treatment shortly. In the meantime, the band's current video for "Chiron," another track off 'Overcome,' will debut on MTV2's Headbangers Ball Sept. 20, with the clip as well as behind the scenes footage are up on their
- Myspace page along with the new song.

antiMusic reports: Vader have given their fans a lengthy update on recent happenings and where the band is going in the future following a recent line-up change. Short answer is they are moving full speed ahead, the long answer comes direct from the band: "We would like to thank to all the participants of our anniversary gig: bands, fans and staff. Thanx to you all we were able to celebrate the 25 anniversary of Vader in so special way. Big thanx to fans for such a numerous presence, bands for fantastic shows they all played in Warsaw, guests for their appearance on this show and our crew for nearly 24 hours of hard work! It was a very important show for us, the more so because it took place in such a difficult circumstances. We were forced to give up an idea of recording DVD due to some technical issues. For technical reasons we were also unable to build a special stage scenery prepared exclusively for this show. Sorry for very long queues for food and drink and the high price of our energy drink - these things were beyond our control. The show ended up turning out well and despite these shortcomings we believe it was a success. Once again- thank you all! All the blood, sweat and tears poured into Vader have been worth it! "At this point we would like to refer to the changes that have occurred in Vader. As you all probably already know, Mauser and Daray are no longer in the band and this anniversary gig was their last show with Vader. We would say that mentally, they both were out of the band from a long time. They played with us more like a session guys, without any real commitment and dedication. We were thinking about making some changes since a year or something, now we are glad to have this opportunity to build a new band. At the moment we are looking for some new musicians. Probably next week we are going to present you our new lineup.

PR reports: What started as an informal living room gathering of a few parents one evening launched as a full fledged 501(c)(3) charitable corporation, named Wantagh SOS (Save Our Students), just days later. Wantagh SOS's challenging goal is to raise enough funds to reinstate all student activities at all levels that resulted in cuts to student programs due to the contingency school budget. Wantagh SOS is very much an 'all hands on deck' grass roots organization that has already garnered significant support from local politicians and businesses, several leading community organizations, parents and students alike. Now, after raising over $530,697 - as of August 24th - they are producing a concert with a little help from their friends John Hampson (of Nine Days, hit song "Absolutely(Story of a Girl") - who is actually a Wantagh High School Teacher, and Paging Grace, one of the "best bands on Long Island" as voted for in the Long Island Press, who come from Farmingdale High School and dealt with austerity as students there several years back as well.

Michael Franti and Spearhead have always existed right outside the mainstream, which is a shame because Franti is the modern Bob Marley. Beneath monolithic dance grooves and phoenix-like melodies are lyrics that excavate into the consciousness of the world. (4.5 stars)
