Earshot Week: Final Day
antiMusic reports: Earshot is back! The modern rockers return with their latest major label effort "The Silver Lining" and frontman Wil Martin will be us all week to tell us a little about his favorite tracks from the CD but first he gives us a brief intro: "'The Silver Lining' as a whole is an album I'm very close to mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and I love every song. However, there are songs that I seem to always go back to, over and over again that I can't seem to get enough of."

Now Wil tells us about today's song: "Pushing To Shove" I will unfortunately always remember as being the song I was working on when I received news that my good friend and tour assistant J.D. was killed in a car accident on his way home. Perhaps the eeriest part about it is the first 2 lines of lyrics in the song were written at almost the exact time of the accident. It's a song written at a time when I was confused as to why and how such a great great person could be taken away from the world and myself so randomly. Which leads me to the next song, "Sometimes".

"Sometimes" is in part what inspired the name of our new album. It's also a song of reflection. Its a moment of personal inventory being taken of everything I had gone through in the last 3 years good and bad and what I had learned from it and taken away from it all. It's a song about salvation with a very intimate message of hope for all to hear.

You can learn more about the band, grab tour dates, and listen to songs from "The Silver Lining" - right here!

Rage Against the Machine's Morello Sets Solo Release
PR reports: Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine is set to release the solo album, The Fabled City, September 30th, 2008 via Epic Records. The 11-song set is the anticipated follow up to the 2007 The Nightwatchman debut One Man Revolution.

Now being billed as Tom Morello : The Nightwatchman, the album is the first release to bear his birth name. The Fabled City was produced by Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam) and features appearances by System Of A Down's Serj Tankian and Shooter Jennings.

In addition to his career as a critically acclaimed solo artist, Tom Morello is a founding member and guitarist of the rock bands Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave. The two bands are responsible for multiple Grammy Awards and a combined 30 million albums sold worldwide. Widely known for his unique voice as a master electric guitarist, his compositions as Tom Morello : The Nightwatchman have been primarily based around the acoustic guitar. However, as his Myspace page firmly states, "You don't have to be loud, son, to be heavy as shit," and the stories and sounds presented throughout the album showcases a depth and intelligence rarely heard in the modern musical climate surrounding it. With more complex electric arrangements than displayed on One Man Revolution, The Fabled City is the synthesis of his groundbreaking work as an innovative rock guitarist and revolutionary acoustic troubadour.
