Hall and Oates Live CD and DVD Coming

PR reports: Daryl Hall and John Oates took the stage at the legendary Troubadour for the first time since playing their earliest Los Angeles shows there 35 years before. The best performances from this much anticipated two-night concert, which included hits such as "Maneater," "Private Eyes," "Rich Girl," "Sara Smile" and "Kiss On My List," will be made available in three formats – DVD, Blu-Ray, and a 1-DVD/2-CD combo, via Shout! Factory on November 25.

"John and I have a lot of great memories associated with performing at the Troubadour, since it was our first show in LA," said Daryl. "It's like going back to where it all began for us. We've always had an enthusiastic following in Los Angeles, and this is a chance for our fans to see us up close and personal in an intimate setting."

Beyond the classic hits, the sold-out shows featured rarely performed fan favorites and deep album cuts, as well as Daryl Hall solo material, with the duo backed by a band comprised of longtime member T-Bone Wolk on guitar and vocals, Mike Braun on drums, Charles DeChant on sax, keys and vocals, Eliot Lewis on keys and vocals, Zev Katz on bass, and Everett Bradley on percussion and vocals. - more on this story

Amid Financial Crisis Senate Takes Time To Help Their Buddies In The Music Biz

Billboard reports: The U.S. Senate passed the Webcaster Settlement Act of 2008, sending it to President Bush's desk for signature two days after the U.S. House of Representatives okayed the bill.

The bill allows for SoundExchange, on behalf of copyright owners and performers, to negotiate with Internet radio services through 2015 an alternative royalty agreement while Congress is in recess.

The negotiations are aimed at setting aside a 2007 decision by the Copyright Royalty Board that set a royalty rate that Internet radio participants said would endanger the fiscal health of webcasting. [Can't wait to see the first lawsuit after the "agreement" is reached that challenges it as Unconstitutional under Equal Protection.. Tokyo Rosenthal New CD and Tour

Glass Onion reports: North Carolina based Americana songwriter, performer and former boxer Tokyo Rosenthal, who in fact isn't Japanese but as American as you can get, is gearing up for the release of his latest CD 'Love Won Out'.

Produced by Tokyo with additional production by indie music legend Chris Stamey, Rosenthal's new CD, featuring the single "St. Patrick's Day" and the title track "Love Won Out", is scheduled for release on Sept. 30, 2008. Recorded at Stamey's Modern Recording studio, along with Chris who plays bass and harmonium and Alex Little on bass, guest artists on 'Love Won Out' include Brent Lambert (slide guitar), Bobby Britt (violin) and Jeff Taylor (flute). Also featured on the CD is Al Perkins on pedal steel guitar, who is best known for his work with the Flying Burrito Bros and Steven Still's Mannassas.
