Little Steven's Coolest Songs in the World Vol. 7
PR reports: On November 25, Wicked Cool Records will release the latest installment of Steven Van Zandt's irresistibly eclectic collection of rock music, 'Little Steven's Underground Garage Presents the Coolest Songs in the World Vol. 7,' this time featuring songs by Elvis Costello and The Imposters, Flogging Molly, John Fogerty, Kaiser Chiefs and R.E.M.

"You can try having a party without this album blasting your bad luck into oblivion," cautions Van Zandt, "but I wouldn't recommend it." As he did for the previous volumes in the 'Coolest Songs in the World' series, Little Steven studiously scoured the world for the best music, picking tracks that give this new compilation "a little bit of everything that's cool."

Here's what Little Steven has to say about 'Coolest Songs in the World Vol. 7': "We start with Swedish Surf Rock (Hawaii Mud Bombers) and Mother Truck ("Streets of Atlanta") right through R.E.M.'s neighborhood ("All The Right Friends") all the way to a "Shady Grove" (Mudcrutch) where we get the singular pleasure of Flogging Molly ("Requiem For A Dying Song"). We've got the Dead But Never Better (Rocket From The Crypt) and Born Again But Never Nastier (The Doughboys) and you want born again? We've got nothing less than "Mother Mary" herself (Foxboro Hot Tubs) and she brought along her own Catholic Girls ("Rock'n America"), we've got Guys (Big Midnight), "Dolls" (Primal Scream), "Gangsters" (Elvis Costello), Pigeons ("I Found Out"), a "Riot" goin' on (Kaiser Chiefs) and a "Longshot" you'd bet on every time (John Fogerty)." - more on this story

Richard Christy Wack Show For Howard Stern TV
PR reports: Richard Christy's "bucolic" family farm in Kansas may never be the same. Howard Stern on-air personality and former heavy metal speed drummer Richard Christy (Death, Iced Earth and Control Denied) takes a couple of infamous Stern Wack-Packers and a porn star to live on his family farm in Fort Scott, Kansas. His parents (and the animals around the farm) are in for quite a shock. Wack Pack at the Christy's Farm, is an original series on Howard TV On Demand in November and December 2008. Howard TV can be found in the On Demand offerings of most cable systems nationally.

Joining Richard are his outrageous and sexy friends; Yucko the Clown (a little racist), Gary the Retard (a little slow) and special guest porn star Gina Lynn (topless a lot!). Upon arriving at his boyhood home, Richard's parents, farmers Pat and Tom Christy, meet his unusual companions. The guests are immediately changed into overalls, and Mr. Christy assigns them chores like painting and cleaning the chicken coop; milking cows and washing his truck, all of which are quite challenging to this crew.

These fish out-of-water attempt to learn line dancing, go camping, boating, fishing, horseback riding, tractor riding and are ultimately relegated to sleeping in a shanty barn. They are out of control, out of their element and outrageous. The groups get a bit tense and some fights ensue along with run-ins with manure, and many other touching and off-color moments. - more on this story

Find Out Which Artists Are Most In Demand
PR reports: Eventful, the leader in discovering and promoting local events, and Billboard, the world's premiere music brand, have joined forces to offer the 'Eventful Hottest Demand' and the 'Eventful Weekly Most in Demand' charts, ranking performers who are most in Demand for live performances. The new charts from Eventful will be published on Billboard.com and will be announced today at the Billboard Touring Conference taking place at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York.

The Hottest Chart, updated every 30 minutes, is based on Eventful's unique Demand service, which enables fans to Demand their favorite performers to appear in their town. The rankings are based on a proprietary algorithm, which includes frequency, currency and total number of Demands. The Weekly Chart ranks performers by the number of Demands they receive from 12:00 a.m. Sunday through 11:59 p.m. the following Sunday. It includes the current week's ranking, last week's ranking, number of weeks on the chart and highest overall rank. The charts will give Billboard visitors unparalleled insight into the live music preferences of Eventful's young, entertainment-savvy audience of nearly 8 million registered users.

"For decades, fans and industry insiders have viewed the Billboard charts as the authoritative source on the hottest acts in music," said Jordan Glazier, CEO at Eventful. - more on this story

More True Metal Coming From Goblin Cock
PR reports: Goblin Cock set to release Come With Me If You Want To Live. Rumored to be the brainchild of Robcore labelhead Rob Crow of indie wunderkinds Pinback, Goblin Cock is focused, primed, and ready to pull the pin on the follow-up to their mammoth debut Bagged And Boarded on Absoultely Kosher Records, which was nominated for three Plug Awards including Metal Album Of The Year.

With songs about undeniably HEAVY topics such as apparitional gloryhole afficienados, an "ode" to Native American Green Beret Vietnam War Veteran, hapkido karate Hippie Billy Jack [which rivals his own themed penned by original Satanic Black Metal Gods "Coven"], comic books [of course] and a Power-Ballad devoted to homoerotic fetish artist Tom Of Finland, Goblin Cock is taking yet another brave step in the re-defintion of TRUE METAL.

Boasting another iconic album cover by Star Wars: New Essential Guide to Characters And Magic Card artist Mike Sutfin, prepare for Lord Phallus to be the Farrah Fawcett of the 00's thanks to the foldout poster insert. Fans across the United States have already started duct taping their glasses to their heads in anticipation of the upcoming Cock Across America tour this January & February.
"No one really knows who they are.

Lion's Share Plot March Release
PR reports: Blistering Records is pleased to announce that Swedish melodic heavy metal masters Lion's Share are putting the final touches on "Dark Hours", the followup to 2007's "Emotional Coma", for release in March 2009.

The band states, "The new songs are simply awesome and everybody that have heard it, think it's our best album to date. The red thread lyric wise on this album is that all songs are about things that happened in the late sixties; a decade known for many good things. However, we're not describing the happy times of the 60's: We give you the Dark Hours. Musically it's more straight forward and faster than ever. The songs are filled with energy and great hooks."

"Dark Hours" will be mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Symphony X, Paradise Lost, Amon Amarth), and features guest slots from Mike Romeo (Symphony X) guest solo on "Behind The Curtain", Conny Pettersson (from Earache Records death metal act ANATA) - drums, Richard Evensand (Chimaira, Soilwork).

The Music Lovers Go Masculine, Feminine For New CD
PR reports: San Francisco's most talked-about 5-piece, The Music Lovers, are set to release their brand new full-length 'Masculine, Feminine' January 20, 2009 on Detroit's Le Grand Magistery Records.

'Masculine, Feminine,' released in the UK through Shellshock in January as well, can be described as battered, inebriate and sensual as well as defiantly and unfashionably romantic - the first three months of a new love affair or seven years in jail for a crime of passion.

The Music Lovers are led by transplanted English songwriter Matthew Edwards on lead vocals and guitar. Edwards is accompanied by Jon Brooder (bass, harmonica), Bryan Cain (guitar, backing vocals), Kate Weeks (viola, percussion, keyboards), Ping Chu (drums), and on occasion, Jun Kurihara (vocals, accordion, piano.) - more on this story

Bobby Womack Poet Trilogy To Be Reissued
PR reports: ABKCO Records has concluded the acquisition of three classic Bobby Womack albums that had originally been released on Beverly Glen Records in the 1980s. They are The Poet, a hugely successful title that went to #1 on Billboard's R&B chart in 1981 as well as The Poet II that hit #5 in 1984. Womack's last release for Beverly Glen, 1985's Someday We'll All Be Free, is also covered by the agreement.

The three albums, collectively known to fans as "The Poet Trilogy," have long been out of print and will be re-issued in the first quarter of 2009. Stand out tracks from these albums include "If You Think You're Lonely Now," "Where Do We Go From Here," "Secrets," "It Takes A Lot of Strength To Say Goodbye," "Love Has Finally Come At Last (a duet with Patti LaBelle), "Tell Me Why" and "Someday We'll All Be Free."

The acquisition of the Womack masters was announced this week by ABKCO President Jody Klein who noted, "Our enduring relationship with Bobby Womack is one of the cornerstones of our company so we are delighted to bring these great recordings into the fold." - more on this story
