PR reports: For the past eleven years, the Stereophonics released six smash albums, scored twenty-one Top 20 hits and eleven Top 5 hits in the UK, racked up multi-million sales and toured relentlessly all over the world.Next week, Stereophonics will return in a huge way to make their mark on U.S. audiences. The band's first ever Greatest Hits album titled: Decade In The Sun: The Best Of Stereophonics will be released on November 18th and will contain 18 of the band's biggest hits as well as two brand new studio songs. Decade In The Sun will also have an partner DVD that features the band's complete videography as well as interview clips, rare performance, and live clips.

PR reports: TheWB.com today announced the final list of bands to be featured in the first season of "Rockville, CA," the music-themed scripted web series created by Josh Schwartz ("Gossip Girl," "Chuck," "The O.C."). Production on the show began in October at The Echo, a popular club and indie music venue in Los Angeles.Bands announced today include Kaiser Chiefs, Travis, Anya Marina, Bishop Allen, The Broken West, Cass McCombs, Lights, Oppenheimer and The Republic Tigers. Previously announced bands appearing on the series include The Duke Spirit, Eagles of Death Metal, Earlimart, Frightened Rabbit, The Kooks, The Little Ones, Lykke Li, Nico Stai, Passion Pit, Phantom Planet, and White Lies.

PR reports: Fans purchasing tickets for Eagles' upcoming tour dates will have the opportunity to purchase tickets, via Ticketmaster, without any add on fees. The ticket on-sales for the January 12th concert in Hampton, Va., January 14 in Charlotte, N.C., January 16 in North Charleston, S.C., January 17 concert in Greensboro, N.C, January 19 in Greenville, S.C., January 23 in New Orleans, and January 24 in Birmingham, Ala., will be sold without Ticketmaster convenience fees. Eagles' ticket buyers using Ticketmaster's convenient print-at-home TicketFastฎ option will have the added benefit of no added delivery or handling fees. This represents a collaborative effort by both the Eagles and Ticketmaster to provide the best consumer value and streamline the ticket buying process. All future ticket on-sales for the winter leg of the Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden" U.S. tour are planned to be "convenience fee" free. On October 30, long time Eagles' manager Irving Azoff assumed the post of Chief Executive Officer of Ticketmaster Entertainment, Inc., and pledged that the company would allow artists to have greater control of their fans' ticket-buying experience. He commented, "The Eagles have long been committed to giving their loyal fans the best concert going experience. The Eagles use of 'all-in ticketing' is the first step in Ticketmaster's transformation to an all-encompassing entertainment company to allow artists to connect to their fans in both new and innovative ways." "Ticketmaster is testing this program and is consulting with all our clients in the hope of rolling out the 'all- in ticketing' program for events nationwide," said Sean Moriarty, Ticketmaster chief executive officer. "We are honored that the Eagles are the first to kick off this unprecedented fan-friendly Ticketmaster program."

Gibson reports: It was a meeting of the stars Monday afternoon in Nashville as the Music City Walk of Fame inducted its fifth class of honorees.The star-studded class honored at the Gibson-sponsored event with commemorative sidewalk markers in downtown Nashville's Hall of Fame Park, which sits directly across the street from the Country Music Hall of Fame included rock and roll legends Little Richard and Elvis Presley, pop superstar Michael McDonald, and country music stars Trace Adkins, Martina McBride and Randy Travis. Also honored was Jo Walker-Meador, who was the first executive director of the Country Music Association.

John Kiernan lives on Grosvenor Avenue in Winnipeg, Canada the childhood home of Neil Young. Last week, Kiernan looked out of the window to see his wife talking with "two strangers" on the front lawn. "And I'm looking around, and I realize, this guy having a tuque on [a kind of loose beanie] has really great boots on, these sort of cowboy, motorcycle boots. And he was wearing really nice leather pants. And I realize I'm staring face-to-face with Bob Dylan," Kiernan told CBC News.

Music Radar reports: It's 17 years since Spencer Elden was photographed by Kirk Weddle in a swimming pool in California. The image with the addition of a dollar bill on a fishing hook would of course go on to achieve iconic status on the cover of Nirvana's 1991 masterpiece Nevermind.For reasons known only to himself, Elden now a high school student recently decided to recreate the classic album cover in the same pool at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena, CA. The dollar bill bait has again been added, but this time around Elden's tackle is wisely hidden by a pair of shorts.

TMZ reports: Suge Knight is picking a nasty fight with Kanye West over a diamond earring 3 years after the broke-ass record mogul was shot and then allegedly robbed of his ice at one of Kanye's parties.Suge, who recently filed for bankruptcy, blames Kanye for allowing someone to smuggle a gun past security at West's pre-MTV VMA party at The Shore Club in Miami back in 2005, where an unknown person managed to shoot Suge in his upper right leg, shattering a bone. According to the lawsuit filed on October 30 in US Bankruptcy Court in L.A., Suge claims he didn't just lose blood -- he also lost a 15-carat, $135,000 diamond stud earring inside the club during the incident -- and that too is Kanye's fault.

No one can deny the immense influence The Cure has had on alternative rock, but at the same time, no one can deny that some of their albums have had more filler than others. Their latest outing, 2004's self-titled release, was a reminder of both these facts (3.5 stars)

Mac's Bar of East Lansing is the perfect venue for a show like this. Mac's is a tiny venue, the likes of which reeks of stale alcohol. It contains that gritty aesthetic necessary for intense concerts, being just the place for passionate music.
