The following story was part of the Day in Rock Report for 5/11/08 - (antiMusic) When Camp Freddy promised that they would have a host of all-star guests jam with them during their residency at the Roxy, they weren't kidding. This week they were again joined by a who's who of heavy rock. Camp Freddy is a jam band featuring Billy Morrison, Dave Navarro, Matt Sorum, Donovan Leitch and Chris Chaney and they're in the midst of a five week residency on Thursday nights at The Roxy in Hollywood. Last week they kicked it off with Steve Jones and Paul Cook of The Sex Pistols, Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, Steven Perkins of Jane's Addiction, Poe, Corey Parks of Nashville Pussy and Die Hunns, Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, Warren DeMartini of Ratt and Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath (McGrath is set to play all five shows.)
This week's show had even more star power. Jones and Cook from the Pistols returned, as did Jerry Cantrell. But they brought in some new guests as well with Slash and Duff from Velvet Revolver/Guns N' Roses, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, Billy Duff of The Cult, and Leah Duors and Hayley Cramer of McQueen. Plus Tommy Lee must be over his being over rock because he showed up as well. - campfreddy.net
