Camp Freddy And Friends Rock the Roxy
PR reports: There were plenty of musical fireworks last Thursday night when Camp Freddy launched the first of five shows of their month-long Thursday night residency at the Roxy in West Hollywood.

The club was packed and the walls were sweating as the band - Billy Morrison, Dave Navarro, Matt Sorum, Donovan Leitch and Chris Chaney - welcomed Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath (who'll be featured every week) and plenty of guests to the stage: Steve Jones and Paul Cook (Sex Pistols); Lemmy Kilmister (Motorhead); Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains); Steven Perkins (Jane's Addiction); Poe; Corey Parks (Nashville Pussy, Die Hunns) Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme); and Warren DeMartini (Ratt).

The true spirit of rock was in full force as Poe sang lead on Led Zeppelin's 'Good Times Bad Times' with Nuno Bennencourt on guitar; Steven Perkins and Matt Sorum created a double-drummer firestorm on Adam And The Ants' 'Ant Music'; Steve Jones and Paul Cook powered up the Sex Pistols' venomous 'EMI'; Lemmy Kilmister sang and played guitar on Motorhead's 'Ace Of Spades'; Warren DiMartini dug his heels into Ratt's 'Round And Round'; Jerry Cantrell blasted out Thin Lizzy's 'Jailbreak'; and the stage was a hotbed when Corey Parks, Jones and Lemmy guested on Eddie Cochran's immortal 'Something Else'. - more on this story

Days Between Stations Recording New Stuff
PR reports: Last year's break-out CD by progressive rock duo Days Between Stations took the worldwide music community by storm (and surprise!). The fervid reaction to the California-based ensemble's self-titled debut CD from fans and critics alike has been overwhelming to say the least! "Days Between Stations eponymous first album is proof that hope must rule the world," Proggnosis recently proclaimed.

Sepand and Oscar are currently preparing to release an EP of non-album tracks: "There is one track from the early writing sessions called 'Sundays', and that will probably be on it," says Oscar. "It's a very dark, melancholy ambient piece that was one of those 'happy accidents' from a live improvisation."

Also, to the elation of Days Between Stations fans worldwide, the group has ventured back into the recording studio to work on new material for the next CD. "I think we will probably take the same 'anything goes' approach as we did with the first one," Oscar explains about the duo's new music. "Oscar and I are just beginning a journey of finding out what we are about," concludes Sepand. "Our rule is to be truthful to ourselves, and to venture out as far as possible and not to worry about opinions." Along with recording the new CD, and release of the band's EP, plans for live performances by Days Between Stations are currently in the works. - Myspace page

Spiritualized CD To Be Released At Last
antiMusic reports: Better late than really really late. Spiritualized new album, 'Songs In A&E,' which was originally set for release on March 26th, but was delayed when Jason Spaceman fell ill, is now going to hit stores on May 26th.

Here is a little bit his PR sent over: Jason explains. "The idea was to record and put the record out quick, but then I became ill. I had double pneumonia. I had legionnaires' disease or something, so…I was quite ill, it took it out of me."

At his lowest ebb, Jason spent a couple of weeks in intensive care. "I lost weight," he says. "I was in a bad way for a few months. It was a big gap in the making of this record, it was a big thing to get through, and to get over." - more on this story

Kanye Shows His Arse Again
antiMusic reports: Kanye West is his very own punch line. There is no need to make up jokes about this jokester as he does a good enough job of doing it all by himself. The word narcissist immediately comes to mind anytime we here Kanye's opinion about anything. This tradition continues with Kayne's immature and self-undulant review of Entertainment Weekly's review of his tour-opening show in Seattle. The review was actually pretty generous and they gave him a B+, but Kanye went off in a tissy like a little three-year-old over the write up. A foulmouthed three-year-old that is. Here is what he had to say on his ego-blog:

"Yo, anybody that's not a fan; don't come to my show. For what?! To try and throw ya'll two cents in? Ya'll rated my album shitty and now ya'll come to the show and give it a B+. What's a B+ mean? I'm an extremist. It's either pass or fail! A+ or F-! You know what, f**k you and the whole f**king staff!!! I know I shouldn't dignify this with a comment, but the reviewer threw a jab at all the artists. I just wanna know when was the last time you enjoyed yourself. If you can't have fun and lose yourself at this tour it's a good chance you're a very miserable person. I actually feel sorry for you guys. Your job forces you to not have fun anymore. Grab a drink, holla at some nice girls, and party bitch!! You don't know shit about passion and art. You'll never gain credibility at this rate. You're f**king trash! I make art. You can't rate this. I'm a real person. I'm not a pop star. I don't care about anything but making great art. Never come 2 one of my shows ever again, you're not invited and if you see me...BOW!! This is not pop, it's pop art!"

He reportedly added "Chris Willman, kill yourself!" But that is now edited out of this tirade. But Art? Damn standards sure have dropped this century. Then again, feces tossed against the wall is called art by some people these days. Pop art is also an oxymoron. Do they teach that word at - Kon-ya University?

Zeppelin 86d Oasis
Gigwise reports: Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant reportedly told Liam Gallagher to leave his dressing room when the band played their reunion show last December.

Recalling the concert, which took place at the O2 Arena in London, Plant said: "The Gallaghers came by the dressing room and leaned against the door.

Radiohead Wants Green Fans, Live Nation Wants Greenbacks
antiMusic reports: Radiohead want their fans to think green when they travel to the band's concerts this summer by using public transportation or carpooling. On the other hand, the nations largest concert promoter, Live Nation, is doing their part to neutralize any cost saving from such ventures by charging every single ticket buyer for parking at most of the venues they control! They must have confused green with greenbacks.

Whether you believe in global warming or not, with the current high price of gas it really is smarter to get to this summer's concerts the cheapest way possible. Take a bus, pile your friends into an Escalade! Now here is Radiohead's pitch on the matter:

On the eve of their 2008 tour, which begins this Monday in West Palm Beach FL, Radiohead are appealing to fans to think about how they travel to and from shows.Last year, the band commissioned carbon footprint analysts Best Foot Forward to calculate the carbon generated on their two previous US tours. The report showed that fans' travel to and from the shows accounted for the greatest proportion of the CO2 generated during each tour, something now widely accepted across the industry. - more on this story

Boston Still Doing It Tom's Way
antiMusic reports: A cynic would say that Boston's Tom Scholz is probably a huge influence on Axl Rose, as Scholz paved the way for Guns N' Roses in two very important ways: he proved that a band's debut album could sell an absolutely insane amount of copies. Then he proved that once you had that fan base, you could take as much time as you want to release a new album.

Tom Scholz really wrote the book on how to break the rules and still win in rock n roll. So it's no surprise that he's breaking another big rule. Normally a band puts out and album and then goes on tour to promote it. Not Boston, they're heading out on tour and will then go back into the studio to finish the album. That's great news for fans because they'll most likely get to see the band this summer and then again after the album is done.

Now here's the report: Boston leader Tom Scholz tells Billboard.com he hopes to finish recording the band's next studio album after its summer tour and have it out "just after the first of the year." Scholz says the album -- Boston's first since 2002's "Corporate America" -- is a mix of "really straightforward rock 'n' roll songs and some things that are pretty esoteric. - The article goes into more depth and they also discuss the impact of Brad Delp's suicide on the Scholz.
