Buffalo Killers Let Their Psychedelic Blues Ride On Their New CD
PR reports: Alive Records has announced the upcoming release from Cincinnati psychedelic blues trio, Buffalo Killers, on July 22. Finishing their run on the opening slot during the Black Crowes tour, the band recently returned to the Midwest to complete recording sessions in Akron, Ohio with producer Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys at his Akron Analog studio. Titled "Let it Ride," the 10-track album is deeply rooted in their signature 60s psychedelic and 70s blues rock inspired sound.

Drawing comparisons in sound to Blue Cheer, Cream, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Mountain and the Allman Brothers Band, the trio released their self-titled debut to critical raves praising them and their music as "the real raw deal" (Amplifier), "well played sludgy blues-rock" (Variety) and "deftly captures the sweaty, grimy feel of the era's best-loved soul-and blues-influenced rock" (Hartford Courant). Simply said, this is as authentic as they come.

The initial pressing of the "Let it Ride" vinyl version, limited to 500 copies, will include a bonus "bootleg" live concert LP recorded in Los Angeles at the Orpheum Theatre during the Black Crowes tour by Mikey Jones, a fan that literally just taped the concert and sent the band a copy. The six-track set features a mix of songs from both their S/T debut album and "Let it Ride." Additionally, the Buffalo Killers have posted an outtake from that concert recording, their signature cover of Neil Young's "Homegrown," on their - MySpace page.

Chumps Ok for Walk of Fame but Chimps Are Not
antiMusic reports: You gotta hand it to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They'll let a chump like Ryan Seacrest purchase a star but a famed chimp that has stared in countless films wasn't good enough for them.

TMZ has the story: Legendary chimp thespian Cheeta's chance to have his name permanently etched on the Walk of Fame has just been shot down. What a load of ape dump!

The 76-year-old chimpanzee actor, who's starred in flicks like "Tarzan" and "Bedtime for Bonzo," didn't receive enough votes from the Walk of Fame Committee to have a star placed in his honor in '09. - Find out who were able to purchase stars this year

The Black Ghosts Are Coming
PR reports: The new album from Simian's Simon Lord and The Wiseguys' Theo Keating, recording together as The Black Ghosts (out July 8th), is an eerily melodramatic affair but some undeniably ominous credentials back up The Black Ghosts' tales of modern gothic romance.

Theo's godfather directed Hammer House of Horror movies, which exposed him to their supernatural charms from a very early age. Simon, too, experienced a disquieting form of bohemia during his easily-influenced years. His grandmother, Madeleine Dring, was a music hall satirist and was considered a psychic.

Aside from youthful contact with the occult both Theo & Simon's childhoods were steeped in music. Theo was a vinyl junky for as long as he could remember, by the age of 12 he had immersed himself in the world of Hip-Hop and by 16 he was an accomplished DJ. Meanwhile, Simon's grandfather was part of the London Symphony Orchestra's woodwind section. - more on this story

PR reports: If you've ever been to an Egress show, you know what it's like to have a good time. Infusing elements of reggae, funk and Latin into their energetic rock band, these guys play to sell out crowds and push spirited fans into a sweat soaked musical frenzy with their intense live shows.

Based in Arlington, Texas, the band is made up of founding members Bobby Liszewski (Bass) and Mark LeBlanc (Drums), and later completed with the addition of Terry Davis (Guitar) and Kali Green (Vocals) in 2005. Egress started a college radio campaign (2007), receiving spins on over 100 stations, 12 of which were in heavy rotation.

Booking all of their own shows, this hard working band plans to be on the road for the next three years. Currently booked throughout June and July, and moving quickly into August, Egress is always willing to put forth the effort to get their music heard and keep their audiences coming back. Kill Kill Kill Plan 12 Albums in 12 Months
PR reports: With Kill Kill Kill, Eric Stiner's (Boy/Girl - Ace Fu) will release 12 albums in 12 months from June 2008 – June 2009. Each will be released primarily via digital distribution and limited edition short run boutique style Vinyl and CDR releases (for selected titles). All of the releases have an environmentally conscience theme and the DIY physical releases
are made with recyclable or biodegradable materials. Kill Kill Kill is Eric Stiner's (Boy/Girl - Ace Fu) LA based solo project. The band takes the listener on a mind bending journey that lands somewhere between the psychadelia of Acid Mothers Temple and the riff laden moxie of the Melvins. Eric has earned his chops while touring the nation supporting bands such as The Gay Blades, Jucifer and the Blues Explosion. In the past two years Eric has crossed the nation twice on self booked tours. In this time he has met and worked with a seemingly endless list of musicians and has developed relationships with them all including members of Rye Coalition, Cat Power, Mars Volta, The Sun, Swervedriver, Heavy Trash and many more. - more on this story
