Clit 45 Make It Official
Punknews.org reports: Clit 45, who announced they were going on indefinite hiatus back in 2006 have recently stated in a blog entry that they officially broken up.

A short statement on the band's MySpace page says "eh time to stop pussyfooting around. we're done. i think. yeah fuck it. we are broken up. bye!"

Together since 1997, the Los Angeles street punks three full lengths and a number of EPs, some of which the band warns have been bootlegged - more on this story

Protest The Hero Soph
PR reports: Protest The Hero release their sophomore Vagrant disc, Fortress, today and the five-piece from Whitby, Ontario is poised to be one of 2008's breakthrough metal acts.

Fortress is currently streaming in its entirety on MySpace, resulting in PTH ranking as the #6 most popular indie band on MySpace (and #1 in Canada).

Raq Tour
PR reports: Burlington, VT-based high performance rock and roll act RAQ announces initial spring tour dates for 2008, in support of the band's latest album, "RAQ Live Vol. 2." The album was recorded live at the world reknowned Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, TN, on New Years Eve and was released in the first weeks of 2008.

Highlights of the tour include a much anticipated return to New York City—where the band has repeatedly sold out venues such as the Highline Ballroom, Bowery Ballroom and BB King's Blues Club—for a two night run at the Blender Theatre at Gramercy, during the Green Apple Music Festival.

The Pnuma Trio will be supporting RAQ for both nights. The tour also features stops at the Langerado Music Festival, The State Theater (Falls Church), Visulite Theatre (Charlotte) and many more dates this spring throughout the east coast. - more on this story

Free Beer Shows
PR reports: Miller Brewing Company has teamed up with Event-Based Social Network Going.com to launch the "Miller Lite Great Taste Music Series." The free music series, which kicks off this month, will take place at various venues throughout Greater Boston each month and feature both local and national acts.

The series will feature one concert per month, beginning on January 29th at The Middle East in Cambridge featuring one of Boston's hottest new rock bands - Bang Camaro. The unique five-piece rock band with twenty lead singers.

All concerts are free. Fans obtain tickets by logging onto Going.com and clicking on the specific event page once it is posted. New artists will be announced each month. - more on this story

Jim Bianco Sings
PR reports: Acclaimed LA indie artist Jim Bianco's new album, Sing, is set for release. The album will be in stores on March 4th and released digitally on Valentine's Day.

Jason Reeves Tour
PR reports: Unsigned artist Jason Reeves, who co-wrote Colbie Caillat's #1 hit single "Bubbly," is about to embark on his own 'magnificent adventure.' As "Bubbly" continues to dominate the charts, Reeves is earning an equal amount of attention as a sought-after singer/songwriter who kicks off a twenty-one city tour today in support of his album The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache (and Other Frightening Tales). Reeves will then join up with Caillat on April 10th for a twenty-date college tour.

Self-taught on the guitar, Reeves co-wrote ten of the tracks on Colbie Caillat's breakthrough album Coco, including the hit single "Bubbly," which topped the Hot AC, AC and AAA Radio charts, and reached #2 on the Top 40 chart. Kinky Reissue
PR reports: Mexican rockers KINKY will reissue their acclaimed album REINA (Kin-Kon/Nettwerk) on February 5, 2008 with two added tracks, a new remix of "A Donde Van Los Muertos" from the Brazilian Girls and a cover of Wall of Voodoo's hit song "Mexican Radio."

A crowd favorite during their live set, Kinky also shot a video for "Mexican Radio" with a special cameo from original Wall of Voodoo frontman Stan Ridgway.

Heloise & The Savoir Faire Set Release
PR reports: New York's electro-rock outfit Heloise & The Savoir Faire will release their new album Trash, Rats and Microphones on April 29 via Simian Records (Elijah Wood's new label and joint-venture with Yep Roc Records).

With a live show described by Disorder Magazine as a "great big flying disco ball swerving through a relentless shower of pink glitter and synth-lasers," Heloise & The Savoir Faire have gained popularity in the UK after making their TV debut on "The Graham Norton Show."

An electrified collision of late-70's disco-infused dance punk and 80's synth-pop, the group is fronted by the charismatic Heloise Williams and backed by two dancers (Joe Shepard and Sara Sweet Rabidoux) and full band (James Bellizia on guitar, Luke Hughett on drums and Jason Diamond on bass). - more on this story

Pete Rock Returns
PR reports: Hip-hop producer/DJ/MC Pete Rock is set to release his first album in four years. Titled NY's Finest, the album will be released in February 2008 in a joint venture between Soul Survivor Records and NY based indie label Nature Sounds.

The record features a roster of cult hip hop artists that includes Wu-Tang's Raekwon and Masta Killa, Dipset's Jim Jones, Papoose, D-Block and Redman amongst others. The first single "We Roll" features Jim Jones and Max B. The track shipped to radio in mid-October and it's already getting spins at mix-shows throughout the Northeast. Other tracks currently available are "914" featuring Styles P and Sheek Louch, "The PJ's" featuring Raekwon and Masta Killa and "Til I Retire" featuring Pete Rock himself. - more on this story

Diddy's New Brain
PR reports: Harve Pierre has been named President of Bad Boy Records, it was announced today by Bad Boy Entertainment founder and CEO Sean "P Diddy" Combs. Pierre will continue to report directly to Combs, and as President, he will oversee the finance, creative, promotional, marketing, A&R, International, and Sales divisions at the label. In addition, his Crazy Joint production imprint will develop artists and projects for the Bad Boy label. Bad Boy Records is a worldwide joint venture between Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment Group and Warner Music Group.

Pierre, who initially joined Bad Boy upon its inception in 1993, was most recently the label's Executive Vice President/General Manager/Vice President of A&R. Having literally advanced from intern to President, he has personal, hands-on experience in virtually every area of record company operations. With a career spanning over 20 years, Pierre has evolved into one of the most accomplished members of the new generation of music executives whose work integrates both the creative and business spheres. Sissy Wish In The States
PR reports: One of Norway's most beloved groups, Sissy Wish, is hitting the states in March. The band will kick off its US run of dates at the 2008 SXSW Music Conference. Sissy Wish is a top national artist in its home of Norway and was awarded a Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannsprisen) for "Best Female Artist" in 2005.

Sissy Wish's newest album, Beauties Never Die, was recorded in the legendary Duper Studio, in Bergen, with the Norwegian super-producer and wiz-kid, Jorgen Traen, best know for his work with Sondre Lerche.
