Hecklerspray reports: Not so long ago, Busta Rhymes was alleged to have duffed up so many poor suckers that we thought he'd easily wind up in jail. However, Busta Rhymes isn't going to jail at all. Earlier today, Busta Rhymes copped to a plea deal that means he'll have to do 10 days of community service for attacking an employee and a fan instead of the full one year jail stretch. But ha! The joke's on you, Busta Rhymes - sure, you might have thought that 10 days of community service is the easy option, but as a celebrity if you'd have settled for jail you'd have only actually been locked up for 23 minutes and a lovely cup of tea. Nice one, durr-brain.

Idolator reports: Warner Music Group has filed a federal copyright-infringement suit against the MP3 aggregator Seeqpod, which scours the Internet for music files and allows people to stream said files from its site. The site--which is apparently owned, in part, by the U.S. Department of Energy (?!)--believes that it isn't engaging in infringement according to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act because it doesn't host the files it streams; it merely allows users to find them easily. But we know what the record industry thinks about technical details!

PR reports: Performing live in his old Brooklyn stomping grounds, Barry Manilow's latest DVD is the best sort of homecoming. A wonderfully entertaining television special, Barry Manilow: Songs From The Seventies was filmed in September 2007 at the old Navy Yard in Brooklyn, "right down the block from where I grew up in Williamsburg," as Manilow explains onstage. The special premiered on PBS stations across the nation in early December, and will now be made available on DVD. Rhino, in association with Stiletto Television, captures the artist's triumphant return to his old neighborhood where he sings his biggest hits -- and some great covers -- from the decade that made him famous. The two-DVD set includes the television special in 5.1 Surround Sound on the first disc, plus a bonus disc featuring an unaired mini-concert of alternate performances, along with behind-the-scenes footage. Barry Manilow: Songs From The Seventies will be available in stores and at www.rhino.com January 29. An excellent companion to Manilow's latest smash album, The Greatest Songs of the Seventies -which debuted in the Top 5 -- this special finds Manilow focusing on the music of the decade when he became one of music's biggest stars.

There is something wrong with The Inner Revolution. It lacks an identity, varying from Evanescence to Kate Bush/Tori Amos to Afghan Whigs to Sun Kil Moon, which is not a delectable mix. It also considers itself overly important (2 stars)
