Kaki King Returns
PR reports: Kaki King's new album, Dreaming Of Revenge, is set to release on March 11, 2008 followed by an extensive US tour. On Sunday January 20th she will be giving New Yorkers an exclusive sneak-peek performance at the Apple Store in SoHo (103 Prince Street) from 3:00-4:00pm.

Kaki King returns with her forth album after her contributions to Foo Fighters and Tegan & Sara's latest albums, and having been nominated for an Golden Globe award for "Into The Wild" together with Eddie Vedder.

Another Hendrix Legal Challenge
PR reports: Experience Hendrix, L.L.C., has responded to a spate of recent press announcements indicating that Fuego Entertainment has acquired North American rights to over 200 live performance music tracks by Jimi Hendrix. Experience Hendrix is the company founded by the late James Allen Hendrix, the father and sole heir of Jimi Hendrix. Since 1995, Experience Hendrix has owned and administered all the music and related rights created by the legendary guitarist, singer and songwriter Jimi Hendrix.

Experience Hendrix is familiar with the material acquired by Fuego: it is a collection of inferior quality bootleg recordings of Jimi Hendrix previously marketed in the UK by the now defunct record company Purple Haze Records. During the past several years Experience Hendrix filed legal actions in the UK against Purple Haze and its affiliates, and won several UK court judgments which held that Purple Haze had no legal rights to release these recordings, and enjoined any further release of same. On May 24 of last year, the Court of Appeal in London upheld the 2006 decision of the English High Court rejecting the claims of Purple Haze's purported licensor John Hillman to ownership of interests in the music of Jimi Hendrix.

It appears that Fuego Entertainment has purchased the discredited claims and inferior copies of Hendrix recordings from Hillman and/or Purple Haze and intends to resume their unauthorized distribution. Experience Hendrix serves notice that it will take all legal action necessary to remove this bootleg material from the market and recover damages against Fuego Entertainment and associated parties for infringement as authorized under applicable law.

The soda giant will mark some four billion packages and, beginning February 1, consumers tally up their points at PepsiStuff.com to put towards DRM-free MP3s (five points is good for one song), meaning the songs are unprotected and can be played on almost every MP3 player - more on this story

One Be Lo Soph
PR reports: Successful and independent emcee, producer, and business man, One Be Lo will be releasing his second solo album, The R.E.B.I.R.T.H. via his own Subterraneous Records and Integral Music Group on February 19th, 2008.

The R.E.B.I.R.T.H., (Real Emcees Bring Intelligent Rhymes to Hip-Hop) is the end product of growth and the obstacles he's overcome since the release of his last album, S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M., which sold over 22,000 units in 2005.
Over the past three years, One Be Lo has kept his ear to the street and his eyes on the prize. A self-empowered artist, Lo has used his business savvy and work ethic to rise above some of the challenges he faced in recent years, which included dealing with shady business partners and phony cohorts, and amicably splitting with his former record label, Fat Beats Records. Instead of dwelling on these unfortunate situations, Lo focused his attention on being pro-active; he toured the world, set up a professional recording studio in his basement, and reached out to collaborate with other producers for the first time in his career. Says Lo, "My focus is stronger, and I'm hungrier than ever before. Whereas before, I was truly a 'one man army,' now I'm delegating responsibilities to a very competent team."

One Be Lo, also known as OneManArmy, first gained recognition in the late 90's as one half of the group Binary Star. Their final release, Masters of the Universe, sold over 30,000 units and at one point, fetched $90-350 on Ebay.
