Grohl Joins Zeppelin as Band Book US Fest?
Gigwise reports: Dave Grohl is reportedly waiting on a very important phone call, an invitation to go drum on the rumoured Led Zeppelin reunion tour.

Apparently the Foo Fighters man is desperate to take control of the skins for anymore shows the band might play despite the fact that he praised Jason Bonham's performance at the O2 Arena show.

According to one of those people that seem to know everything – the insider – Grohl was also in the running to take Bonham's role at the London gig.

Metal Underground has this report Mirror.co.uk can exclusively reveal that LED ZEPPELIN - who staged a triumphant "one-off" gig at the O2 this month - will be the headline act at the Bonnaroo festival in the US next year. The festival runs from June 12 to 15 in Tennessee - and if all goes smoothly they may even hit the road and tour.

An insider told us: "This is the news that will drive their fans absolutely wild. They have been bombarding their website to get back together for good but only Robert Plant wasn't keen to commit. Now he's had a change of heart and if it goes well they are also talking about touring." - more on this story

McCartney and Ozzy Duet
Gigwise reports: Sir Paul McCartney is set to team up with a strange choice of singing partner the 2008 Brit Awards – he's to duet with Ozzy Osbourne.

The former Beatle is to receive the Outstanding Contribution To Music award, and plans are being finalised for him to give the show a fitting conclusion by performing Bond theme classic 'Live And Let Die' with the ex-Black Sabbath frontman.

Why Macca needs someone to duet with on the song, and why that someone would be Ozzy, is beyond us – but, perhaps unsurprisingly, it's all Sharon Osbourne's idea. - more on this story

Girl and Mom Scam for Hannah Montana Tickets
AP reports: An essay that won a 6-year-old girl four tickets to a Hannah Montana concert began with the powerful line: "My daddy died this year in Iraq."

While gripping, it wasn't true — and now the girl may lose her tickets after her mom acknowledged to contest organizers it was all a lie.

The sponsor of the contest was Club Libby Lu, a Chicago-based store that sells clothes, accessories and games intended for young girls. - more on this story

Doherty Accused of Song Theft
Gigwise reports: Pete Doherty has been accused of a double dose of plagiarism over Babyshambles' song 'Baddie's Boogie'.

Wayne Kenyon, a former friend of Babyshambles guitarist Mik Whitnall, claims the tune is the same one he wrote in the nineties whilst in The Ferrymen.

He tells The Sun. "Baddie's Boogie is a tune that I wrote for The Ferrymen. "I have footage of me playing it at three gigs in Germany in 1997. - more on this story

Brandy Not Being Charged for Vehicular Manslaughter
Jam! reports: The Los Angeles city attorney's office said Friday it will not charge Brandy in a deadly December 2006 freeway crash.

Spokesman Nick Velasquez said there is "insufficient evidence" for a jury to find the 28-year-old actress-singer guilty of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter beyond a reasonable doubt.

The decision runs counter to a recommendation from the California Highway Patrol that Brandy, whose real name is Brandy Norwood, be charged in the Dec. 30, 2006, crash. - more on this story

Radiohead Say EMI Full Of It
Gigwise reports: Thom Yorke has gone on the offensive over stories that Radiohead demanded at £10 million record deal from their former label EMI.

A spokesperson for the label reportedly told the Times last week that the reason that Radiohead had moved on for the release of 'In Rainbows' was because of a stalemate caused by the demands.

However, Radiohead's management have vehemently denied the accusations saying that they were only looking for more control of the bands back catalogue and its future use. - more on this story

Gigantour 08 Lineup
Lambgoat reports: The lineup for this year's Gigantour has officially been announced. The tour is scheduled to kick off mid-April and run through end of May and will feature Megadeth, In Flames, Children Of Bodom, Job For A Cowboy, and High On Fire.

Tour dates will be announced in the near future. Dave Mustaine comments: "The breaking news is we are going to have five bands this year, instead of eight.

"The decision to drop it down from eight bands to five was based on timing, set lengths, stage sizes, unions, and most importantly allowing 'us' - the musicians - to deliver to 'you' - the fans - the best shows we can." - More metal news

RIAA Say Personal MP3s Illegal
Punknews.org reports: An article in the Washington Post has highlighted a ongoing lawsuit between the Recording Industry Association of America and a Scottsdale, AZ man. The case is significant in that involves yet another challenge to personal use: purchasing a CD and copying it to a computer with no intent to distribute those copies.

Now, in an unusual case in which an Arizona recipient of an RIAA letter has fought back in court rather than write a check to avoid hefty legal fees, the industry is taking its argument against music sharing one step further: In legal documents in its federal case against Jeffrey Howell, a Scottsdale, Ariz., man who kept a collection of about 2,000 music recordings on his personal computer, the industry maintains that it is illegal for someone who has legally purchased a CD to transfer that music into his computer.

The industry's lawyer in the case, Ira Schwartz, argues in a brief filed earlier this month that the MP3 files Howell made on his computer from legally bought CDs are "unauthorized copies" of copyrighted recordings. - more on this story

Robinson had been a sharecropper, an Army veteran and a friend of performers, including B.B. King.

Reuters reports: Jessica Simpson is in the early stages of recording a country album in Nashville, a project slated for a 2008 release via Columbia Records.

Bon Jovi Scalping Their Own Tickets?
BW&BK reports: According to Ticketnews.com, it appears that you can add BON JOVI to the list of artists scalping tickets to their own shows for hundreds, even thousands, of dollars above face value. The New Jersey-bred band, headed by heartthrob Jon Bon Jovi, is currently on tour supporting its top-selling album Lost Highway.

TicketNews discovered that within minutes of tickets going on sale this month on Ticketmaster.comfor several Bon Jovi shows, tickets that had not been made available to the public originally were posted on Ticketmaster's TicketExchange website, often for exorbitant prices.

Bon Jovi's current tour has been a top seller overall, but the band struggled a bit when it tried to sell out a ten-date residency at the new Prudential Center in their home state. Those shows eventually sold out. [we heard differently] - more on this story
