Hecklerspray reports: Unlike Vanessa Hudgens,
Miley Cyrus ha never taken a picture of her minge and put it on the internet.
And unlike Jamie Lynn Spears, Miley Cyrus has never been knocked up by
some bloke she met at church. But beneath that butter-wouldn't-melt smile
there's a heart of darkness beating inside Miley Cyrus, if this new report
is anything to go by.
Miley Cyrus didn't wear a seatbelt in
a car once. We know, we're just as shocked as you. So shocked that we'll
let USA Today fill you in on the rest of the details:
In a blog item posted Monday, Consumer
Reports magazine says 15-year-old superstar Miley Cyrus, who plays Hannah
Montana on television, is seen in her new movie riding without a seat belt
in the back seat of a Range Rover. So is her father, country music star
Billy Ray Cyrus, the Yonkers-based magazine says
The magazine says 65%
of the 13-to-15-year-olds killed in auto accidents in 2006 were not wearing
seat belts. "It seems to us that Miley, her father and Disney had a perfect
opportunity to help influence teens and counteract rather than encourage
this trend," the blog item says.- [But
what percentage of those teens were too drunk to remember to buckle up?
Yes folks the happy face fascism continues to rise in our country. more

antiMusic reports: Here is a fun one from
our friends at Gibson about the punchline known as the Grammys, who have
always showns their cluelessness: Whether you actually believe all the
votes for Kanye West and Amy Winehouse canceled each other out or that
the Grammy nominating committee is just woefully out of touch, there's
no denying that giving Herbie Hancock the Album of the Year prize was divisive.
Even the 67-year-old winner, who had his last major hit in 1983 with "Rockit,"
was stunned by the verdict, dropping all his thank-you notes as he took
the stage. But we know it was just Grammy being Grammy, the capricious
industry showcase with a history of colossal upsets. Here are some of the
biggest.
5) Jethro Tull out rocks Metallica: In
1988, arguably one of the best vintage years ever for heavy metal, the
Grammy committee had an easy opportunity to win over a previously untapped
demographic simply by honoring Metallica in the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance
category for its thrash masterpiece, And Justice for All. It was a total
no-brainer, right? So how did flute playing, bandana-wearing folkies Jethro
Tull sweep in and win the prize for their little-heard album, Crest of
a Knave? It's a question philosophers are still pondering two decades later.
4) The Beatles get beat down by Mary Poppins:
In 1964, with the British Invasion in full swing, the Recording Academy
decided to shun the Beatles' soundtrack for A Hard Day's Night in the Best
Original Score Written for a Motion Picture category in favor of a bunch
of songs sung by a fictional nanny with a bad accent and magical umbrella
called Mary Poppins. Given a chance to correct its mistake two years later
when the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby" was up for Best Rock and Roll Recordingalongside
the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations," the Monkees' "Last Train to Clarksville,"
the Association's "Cherish," and the Mamas and the Papas' "Monday Monday"Grammy
did the right thing. They awarded it to a long forgotten novelty single,
"Winchester Cathedral."

Wenn reports: QUEEN guitarist BRIAN MAY insists
he had no idea bandmate FREDDIE MERCURY was gay, assuming the parading
frontman was just flamboyant.
May met the late star in 1970 but claims
it was not until the 1980s that he realised the frontman's sexuality -
because Mercury began to bring men with "that particular Adonis look" backstage.
He recalls, "When I shared a room with him on tour in the early days I
can assure you it was girls who generally stayed overnight.
"But he seemed to be what these days you
would call metrosexual. He was into his hair, his clothes - he definitely
led the way with regard to preening." - more

antiMusic reports: For the five readers that
might actually care about this, we have a list of who won what at the 50th
annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night. (Most of the awards are included).
We know you're itching to find out who
took the nod for best Polka Album and other assorted genres still celebrated
by the antiquated music awards ceremony (they still call it "record of
the year after all) but have been ignored by the masses for the past 40
years, but we can tell you that Amy Winhouse, Kanye West and Bruce Springsteen
were the very predictable big winners on Sunday night.
The strangest pick of the evening was the
Album of the Year nod, which went to Herbie Hancock. Props to Herbie but
the best album of the year? It's also interesting to see that the Foo Fighters
are now "hard rock." Maybe they are hard to the geriatric "academy" voters,
but at least they gave the metal award to a metal band this year (Slayer).
Now with that said, here are the Grammy "winners":
Album of the Year: "River: The Joni Letters,"
Herbie Hancock.
Record of the Year - "Rehab," Amy Winehouse
Song of the Year - "Rehab," Amy Winehouse
New Artist - Amy Winehouse.
Alternative Music Album - "Icky Thump,"
The White Stripes.
Rock Song - "Radio Nowhere," Bruce Springsteen,
songwriter (Bruce Springsteen).
Solo Rock Vocal Performance - "Radio Nowhere,"
Bruce Springsteen.
Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With
Vocals - "Icky Thump," The White Stripes.
Hard Rock Performance - "The Pretender,"
Foo Fighters.
Metal Performance - "Final Six," Slayer.

thejakartapost.com reports: A stampede at
an Indonesian punk rock concert killed 10 people and injured dozens of
others, most of them teenagers, police said Sunday.
The crush happened Saturday night at a
small cultural center hall in West Java provincial capital of Bandung,
after a show by a local band called Beside. Hundreds of people tried to
leave the overcrowded venue at the same time, causing a panic, said Bandung
City Police chief, Sr. Comr. Bambang Suparsono.
The concert hall had been about 30 percent
over its capacity of 700, Bambang said, adding that investigators were
questioning 15 concert organizers.- more

Contact Music reports: Singer-songwriter JAMES
BLUNT had so much success finding his sister a date on auction website
eBay.com he's offering to do the same for his younger sibling.
The You're Beautiful hitmaker "auctioned
off" one sister, partly because she needed transport to a funeral in Ireland,
and that little bit of matchmaking really paid off - last year (07) his
sister wed the guy who flew her to the funeral in his helicopter.
So now Blunt is hoping for the same success
as another desperate sister looks for love.- more

antiMusic reports: Nikki "Dude! I Died! Dude!"
Sixx issued a statement refuting a story that appeared online that claimed
that Motley Crue has signed a deal $100 million with Live Nation. We thought
that number was about $98 million too high too. It's too bad this isn't
true. We wanted to see Tommy's excitement over jumping on the Live Nation
bandwagon, since he hasn't had a new bandwagon to jump on lately.
Here is what Nikki had to say: "MOTLEY
CRUE HAS NOT SIGNED ANY DEALS TO TOUR OR RECORD WHATSOEVER. ANY INFORMATION
TO THE CONTRARY IS 100 PERCENT INCORRECT." He obviously likes his caps
lock key.
Blabbermouth carried the following story
which prompted the Nikki statement: Robin Leach reports on his blog "Vegas
Luxe Life with Robin Leach" that Motley Crue (Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Nikki
Sixx and Mick Mars) signed a $100-million-plus mega-deal last week to produce
three albums and perform three world tours for the giant Live Nation entertainment
conglomerate.- read

PR reports: In recent years, the tale of Blind
Melon has taken a dramatic turn from an abrupt and tragic end, to a rebirth
and reconnection with their legion of fans. No matter how you slice it,
the group was responsible for some of the most memorable and pure-sounding
rock music of the '90s.
And with their reformation in 2007 with
singer Travis Warren, Blind Melon are poised to pick up exactly where they
left off a decade earlier as evidenced by their forthcoming CD entitled
For My Friends set for release on April 22, 2008.
On February 28th Blind Melon are set to
embark on a five month U.S. tour - more

antiMusic reports: As we sit here and ponder
how one antiquated and clueless organization bestowed their highest honor
upon an album that sold under 60,000 copies in the U.S., another institution
of music cluelessness has lost their head. We're pretty sure that most
Grammy voters haven't even heard said album but voted because they knew
Herbie's name from his hit way back in MTVs heyday in the early 80s. Actually
from around the same era that the Grammys gave Lionel Richie the nod over
Prince's "Purple Rain" and Springsteen's "Born in the USA". Let's not forget
how they made the flutey Jethro Tull into a metal band.
Now we learn that woman that has presided
over the recent downfall of MTV and Vh1 is calling it a day. Wonder if
she voted for Herbie? Canadian Press has the report: Christina Norman,
who rose from a freelance production manager to become president of MTV,
is quitting at the end of the month.
During a period in charge of VH1, she helped
transform the network into a pop culture channel dominated by celebrity
reality. [Big thanks for the Celebretardity. How about a Behind the Music
about the fall of MTV?] - more
