Lambgoat reports: Set Your Goals has issued an update regarding two DVDs projects. Here you go: "As most of you know, we had an original DVD edited back in the fall and winter of 2006. This DVD, titled 'Work In Progress,' compiled great documentary style band footage from that entire 2006 year and it was, what we felt to be, a perfect representation of each member of Set Your Goals. But due to a high amount of copyrighted song material we used to edit our footage to, our attorney and label both advised us against releasing the DVD. "So ironically enough, 'Work In Progress' is indeed a work-in-progress and has yet to see an official release date. We are still hoping to gain clearance on the music we used in the feature, and hope to get this out in some way still (maybe an online download or stream of sorts) as we are all proud of how it turned out. "So what about the new SYG DVD? Well, while we are still figuring out how to make 'Work In Progress' viewable to the public, we have been busy compiling footage for a newer, more updated DVD."

Punknews.org reports: Brand new papa and Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden is expanding his repertoire. Gotta buy those diapers somehow! First he'll be interviewed on The Naked Brothers Band on Nickelodeon before playing a shrink on "Head Case," a comedy that is shown on the premium channel Starz. Finally, Joel is duking it out with Pete Wentz for a role in an upcoming film that will star Diablo Cody (Juno). They're both vying for a role as the frontman of an emo band in the film. Presumably, Madden will have a leg up since he actually is the frontman of his band, and not just the bass player.

PR reports: Indie-pop duo The Submarines will release HONEYSUCKLE WEEKS, the follow up to their 2006 debut Declare A New State!, on May 13, 2008 through Nettwerk Music Group. The band will perform new material as part of NPR affiliate KUT's SXSW showcase on Friday, March 14. Honeysuckle Weeks marks the first time that The Submarines - John Dragonetti and Blake Hazard - collaborated as a duo from start to finish (Declare A New State! was written separately during a breakup and recorded upon their reunion.) The new album, which was recorded in the band's East LA garage-turned-home-studio, draws together themes from their immediate surroundings and experience: the garden outside their home studio, and the push and pull of life and love inside. "Our first album was hugely cathartic for us to make, dealing with a breakup and getting out the sorrow, but we've been ready to freak out and have a lot more fun this time around. We're thankful not to have to make that record again, to be in a better place," says Hazard. Stay tuned for further announcements from The Submarines, including North American tour plans

antiMusic reports: Anathema are hard at work on two new releases for this year. Here is an update from the band: We have taken all of our recording equipment to a house in England where we have built a studio and begun the first of two records to be released this year. The recording has been going very well. This first record is a semi-acoustic recording of many of our most loved older tracks. This will be released on Peaceville Records. The working title is Temporary Peace. In late winter/early spring, immediately following the recording of this semi-acoustic album, we will enter a studio to record the next full length Anathema album, which will be produced by Anathema and mixed by Steven Wilson, independently from a record company.

antiMusic reports: This silly news story of the week (about even sillier celebs) comes from our favorite hecklers at Hecklerspray: There are two things in the world that could liven up the Grammys - one is to release a sack of hornets into the auditorium and the other is to watch Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan have a bit of a ding-dong.Sadly nobody's ever taken us up on the hornet thing, but at least Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan are keeping their end of the bargain. Apparently Paris and Lindsay had a scrap at Timbaland's pre-Grammy party over which of them liked Timbaland more, or something. We know. Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan were at a music awards party. Perhaps they were both serving drinks. The Mirror reports: We watched open-mouthed as Lindsay pointed at Paris and snarled: "What the hell is that bitch doing here? I didn't know she was on the list." To which Paris spat back: "F*ck off you bitch." [we love the hornet idea

PR reports: The new masters of doom, Norway's Sahg, are set to unveil their latest masterpiece, the simply named "Sahg II," on March 18 on Regain Records. While the band's 2006 debut, "Sahg I," established the band as a force to be reckoned with in doom metal, "Sahg II" proves the band's staying power. Taking inspiration from the forefathers of all things heavy - Black Sabbath - Sahg creates its own interpretation of retro, trippy, heavy music, based around memorable, ear-catching riffs. "This album is definitely a big step forward for us, both musically and technically/sound-wise," said guitarist/vocalist Olav Iversen. "The songs are more diverse on 'Sahg II' because we have allowed ourselves to think more freely and be more receptive to a wider range of inspiration. There are so many directions we want to explore with this band, and this is just what we had time for in this round."
