PR reports: Altamont Fairgrounds near Albany, NY will be the new venue for the SoCo Music Experience on Saturday, September 13. The festival will feature Justice, MGMT, Lotus, The Whigs and Heartless Bastards, while the local stage performers will be announced next week along with other event details. Doors open at 2:00 p.m.This is the last of five markets for the SoCo Music Experience festival with each event showcasing five national performers with five top local acts on two stages all for no charge. Altamont Fairgrounds will be transformed into the complete festival experience food and beverage vendors, a designated driver program, poster and t-shirt shop, the local record shop, merch tent, cornhole games, photobooths and the SoCo & Lime Dome, among other areas. The festival is open to people 21 and over and valid ID is required.

Earache reports: Deicide are set to play their first full headlining tour in support of their new album, Till Death Do Us Part. Following the previously announced one-off American date with Order Of Ennead (featuring Steve Asheim) and Adrift (featuring Jack Owen), Deicide will head to the other side of the world for dates in Italy, Japan and Australia. With the announcement of these new worldwide dates, the heaviest band to ever make the Billboard charts will take the venomous animosity captured on Till Death Do Us Part out onto the stages and undoubtedly create some of the greatest performances of the band's storied career.

PR reports: Gnarls Barkley, the chart-topping partnership of artists Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green, has received two nominations for MTV's Video Music Awards. The acclaimed video for "Run," directed by Happy, has been nominated for its effective use of eye candy (Best Art Direction) and mind control (Best Choreography). The video caused a stir when an early cut failed the Harding Test, and was determined to put some viewers at risk of seizures. PR PR reports: Mother Mother is gearing up for the September 16th release of their second album O My Heart. That have also just confirmed a run of live dates that kicks off October 2 in Peterborough, Ontario and reaches the States on October 22 in Cambridge, MAThe band has just completed a video for the title track. The clip was helmed by visionary 22 year-old director Colin Minihan, who recently achieved an incredible four videos simultaneously charting on the MuchMusic Countown, and also got a Best Independent Video nomination at the recent MuchMusic Video Awards. The "O My Heart" video blends stop motion and live action and features the band performing as 3-inch paper cut outs glued to cardboard backings inside a colorful diorama that rests inside a youngster's bedroom. The narrative ties into the performance and eventually leads to the band performing the ending of the song inside the young boys chest, on top of his broken and still beating paper-mach้ heart, until it patches itself back together.

PR reports: After 10 years of activities, the Brazilian progressive metal band Akashic calls it quits. Since its creation in 1998 the group released two albums, "Timeless Realm" and "A Brand New Day", and played lots of concerts in Brazil and Europe. The band says farewell with a new DVD, which will be released soon and will feature the band playing the best songs of their set. The members wrote the following statement: "To all AKASHIC fans, we want to let you know that we are ending the activities of the band. We had 10 fantastic years where we learned a lot with each other, musically and personally.
