The Lordz To Tour with Everlast
PR reports: Just off a successful trek with the Vans Warped Tour 08, The Lordz gear up for a national fall tour with friend and collaborator Everlast kicking off on September 14. An unrelenting rush of delightfully uncontainable madness hearkening back to the early days of punk rock and hip hop with a modern day twist.

Legends never die and Brooklyn, NY's The Lordz are living proof. Mr. Kaves and his brother/partner-in-crime ADM have been on the scene, not only in NY, but worldwide for a while now. They've toured the world numerous times as the infamous Lordz of Brooklyn and collaborated with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Busta Rhymes, Sublime, Freddie Foxxx, Everlast and countless others, proudly bringing the unique flavor of Kings County with them everywhere they've gone…and plan to venture.

"We are Brooklyn and Brooklyn is us. There is truly no other place like it in the world – not even within the 5 boroughs," says Kaves. "The music, the different cultures and especially the attitude…There's a lot of attitude where we're from and I think its part of what's made us creative people. You want to be better than your friends, and even more so, (better than) the people that aren't your friends. You want to stick it to the kids that gave you shit while growing up for being different and wearing it on your sleeve." - more on this story

Amon Duul 2 Reissues
PR reports: Experimental music pioneers Amon Duul 2, whose music defined the German progressive rock scene of the 1970's, are back in the news with the reissuing of the band's back catalog on SPV Records - many titles have been long out of print.

"All the important works of Amon Duul 2 are remastered and wherever there was spare room on the CDs, we added bonus tracks recorded in 2005, 2006 and 2007", says guitarist and original band member John Weinzierl. Titles re-issued include 'Dance Of The Lemmings', 'Yeti', 'Carnival In Babylon', 'Wolf City', 'Vive Le Trance', 'Hi-Jack', 'Live In London', 'Made In Germany', and 'PyragonyX'. As a point of special interest to Amon Duul 2 fans in the USA, the band's landmark concept album 'Made In Gemany' , touted as the first German Rock Opera, is now made available in its original complete form (the DBL LP was only released in the US as a single album with different cover art).

Formed in Munich in 1968, Amon Duul 2 rapidly excelled to the forefront of German avant garde music along side notable peers Can, Faust and Tangerine Dream. Amon Duul 2 quickly distinguished themselves from these other ensembles with their use of pop elements interspersed with eclectic songwriting and arrangements along with deft musicianship and the sweet voice of female vocalist Renate Knaup-Krotenschwanz. The band's influences ranged from jazz and classical to Zappa and Syd's Pink Floyd, although the music has remained so original these past 30 years it's difficult to tell who the band's influences are! "That's because Germany culture-wise has no rhythm and blues influence," explains Renate. "We have classical music and traditional music, so we just experimented with what we had. To copy rhythm and blues or rock and roll would be silly because they are not our roots." By 1979 and many critically acclaimed, pioneering LPs later, Amon Duul 2 went their separate ways, only to reunite in the 1990s, and most recently in the mid-2000s. The current line-up includes original members: Chris Karrer (guitar, violin, vocals), John Weinzierl (guitars, synth, vocals), Renate Knaup-Krotenschwanz (vocals), Danny Fichelscher (drums), Lother Meid (bass, vocals) and neo-Duul Jan Kahlert (percussion, vocals). - more on this story

Pierce The Veil Tour
PR reports: Pierce The Veil have announced a fall headlining tour commencing October 17th in Phoenix, Arizona and finishing up in the band's hometown of San Diego, CA on November 29th.

The six-week trek will be the first headlining tour for the band - Vic Fuentes (vocals), Tony Perry (guitar), Jaime Preciado (bass), and Mike Fuentes (drums) - with support from Breathe Carolina, Four Letter Lie, and Emarosa.

Earlier this year, the band posted an acoustic duet song titled "She Makes Dirty Words Sound Pretty" featuring Vic Fuentes and Emarosa vocalist, Jonny Craig. Now that the two bands will be touring together, fans can expect to hear the song live. Attendees can also expect an even more energetic live show than what PIERCE THE VEIL has become known for. "We are taking 2 months off right now to just prepare for the tour, so expect something fun and memorable," explained Fuentes. The band will be performing nearly every song from their 2007 debut, A Flair For The Dramatic.

mr. Gnome Tour
PR reports: The oddly named Cleveland duo mr. Gnome has announced new U.S. tour dates in September and October in support of its impressive genre-bending debut full-length, Deliver This Creature.

The music of mr. Gnome has been described as utilizing elements of AltRock, Metal, Post Punk, and Prog, but lands in a realm of their own making, crafting a compelling sonic-psychedelic mélange of indie rock. Since its conception in 2005, the Cleveland duo has released two EPs, receiving wide-ranging and honorable comparisons to Cat Power, PJ Harvey, Tool, Portishead, Pelican, Death From Above 1979, Bjork and Blonde Redhead. Above all else, mr. Gnome's compositions work -- and in very unusual and clearly soon-to-be-influential ways, where truly adequate descriptions aren't yet available.

While comparisons vary, one thing is certain - the duo's unique sound explores unpredictable shades of violence and intensity, while meshing the sludgy, reverberating monsoon of hardcore with the feminine. Its debut full-length CD, Deliver This Creature, hit stores in May 2008 on El Marko Records. Hot on the heels of that release the band took to the road to truly deliver the creature -- as it has nearly incessantly over the past three years -- city to city across the US, earning considerable praise throughout.

Lotus Album and Tour This Fall
PR reports: This fall, Lotus releases their highly anticipated studio album, Hammerstrike, and steps out on their most ambitious tour yet. The months ahead will wrap up a huge year of growth for Lotus; a year that has positioned this instrumental post-rock outfit for a breakout 2009.

Hammerstrike (October 14, 2008/SCI Fidelity) finds the band reaching back in order to move forward. Primarily recorded live in one room to analog tape by Bill Moriarty (Dr. Dog, Man Man), the album captures a sound that harkens back to the 70's but never slips into nostalgic retreads. The compositions are focused and melodic, filled out with orchestration including swelling violins and cellos, banjo, wordless choirs, and electronic noises. - more on this story

. Idolize Yourself: The Very Best of Billy Idol
He may not have ever been a true punk rocker, but his music has always been good, loud fun. So if you're in the mood for a little good, loud - albeit nostalgic - fun, this greatest hits compilation is a real fine place to let loose with a hearty rebel yell. . Marduk - Live in Germania
If I were to have razors slicing my arms, wasps endlessly stinging my ass, a group of horses kicking my ass while those wasps poke it, and find myself raped by an obese woman during Ozzfest, it would probably be on par with Live in Germania. - Read the full Marduk - Live in Germania review
